The fact that Lee can do that Tom Morello shit so convincingly should prove how over rated Morello actually is. I hate that people give The Edge shit for playing with FX when it always complements the song and Morello's stupid solos always sound completely out of place and self indulgent. In My Opinion.
Digitech's detuner algorithm is the best. I got one of their old rack processors and the detune sounds amazing and works with all kinds of instruments. Super low bass on bass pedals or simulate them on a bass git, detune for single synth oscillators... this being in a small pedal sounds interesting, indeed!
Was not sure if I would like the video cause I didn't see the possibilities compared to the real Whammy ! but when Lee played Rage Against the Machine, I was like YES YOU CAN DO THAT !
Rabea's great. So happy to see your still using the Bassbreaker 007 in these videos. I got mine before your review and love it, nice to see it getting some love.
The difference between classic and chord mode is that classic mode replicates the old school whammy pedal which would glitch out a bit, especially with chords. Chord mode however was meant to be much better at tracking and as a result works with chords. Thanks for the video :)
Hey Chap n Cap, I'm new to the channel and love the comradely exchanges and pure unadulterated jamming you guys do. It's inspiring and fun. Glad to be here!
Glad Rabia got to doing the rage solo. I think it's clear how that solo uses the expression pedal to get the timing of the bends just right. It's difficult and it takes up more space on a board but I think the original is the way to go if you want to play that solo. This pedal seems like a very good value though and can certainly be a great addition to someone's rig.

I always love the solo from like a stone, so classy.
i adooooore the way u improved your "montage" skills ! your videos have allways been funny but now it's like funny from another dimension, like space funny dude ! Getting better and better really like the thing :D
I can't believe how clean it is..usually you hit a chord with a whammy effect and it's really just weird sounding .but this is so clean and punctual and I'm gonna buy it
This is very similar to the EHX pitch fork. The pitch fork has more options though. Optional expressionpedal, you can blend upper and lower octave and make strange in between harmonies. It also has a blend button. A better option if you ask me
You could play in like drop A and then play a solo by shifting up that would be cool, you could also play like 14-80 gauge string and still bend. Very inspiring.
the classic mode allows for the glitchy sound when you play chords, listen to radiohead subterranean homesick alien for example. chord mode removes the glichy sound and make it track better.
That's a great idea to give what a Whammy does in a more pedal board size pedal. The full Whammy can be too big. Just set the interval and click. Great.
This is great! I have a Morpheus Droptune that performs a similar function, but the momentary effect is immediate and the pitch can only be lowered. It's absolutely grand for playing stuff like QOTSA's "No One Knows" (C Standard) without having to lug a specially-tuned axe around. I may even trade it in for this Ricochet if the price is right, seeing as how it has a smaller footprint... Sweet demo, gentlemen - keep up the good work!
You should do a bunch of videos where you each make a rig for different genres and Rabea decides who's rig was better as a series. So for example you would make a blues rig, a metal rig ect The videos you do in the shop are my favourite you do
I really like this pedal. Much better than the other pedal like this you demoed a while back. This pedal works so much better. Kind of weird, Kind of strange, but kind of cool too.
Are you referring to the EHX Pitch Fork? I agree. I got it am not in love with it. You cannot simply change keys, the tracking and sound are not good enough, even fully blended.
Very similar to the Pitch Fork by Electro Harmonix. The Pitch Fork has a mix control on it though, so you can choose how much of the signal is shifted to also use it as a harmoniser.
Cool trick. My treadle is a little lose and lands in a different spot every time. That wiggle room makes it usable until I can actually take it apart and fix it.
Gilmour to me made the best use of the original whammy pedal. Most uses I've heard sound more or less experimental and some not too pleasing. Lol. I actually love it though for the slow blues atmo sounds Gilmour used. Oh yes. I love David Gilmours tone and artistic value.
I used something very similar once actually. I think it was a Boss harmoniser pedal, but it could do some of what this pedal can do, and my old band used it when we covered "Reapers" by Muse.
There's been a few videos with wacky pedals like this that would be perfect for Muse but no one every fucking plays it! haha An example is 16:46 perfect for Fury.
One thing I noticed in the octaves, Chappers was hitting the bottom adjustment knob while stomping on the pedal on/off...would suck to be messing up your settings by mistake...they should be farther away.
I thought about EHX's pitchfork during the whole video.I was actually surprised you guys didn't mention it. With an expression pedal to set the speed of the pitch shift, it would do pretty much the same job wouldn't it?
I think a real use of this pedal I could get behind is to change tunings between songs with a guitar that has a locking trem, would save me lugging a second guitar with me
Thumbs up for Captain pulling a Morello
I loved that
I bad one - I apologise to Tom & the band ;)
CaptAnderton A bad one is better than no one, Lee, all in good fun 👌
The fact that Lee can do that Tom Morello shit so convincingly should prove how over rated Morello actually is.
I hate that people give The Edge shit for playing with FX when it always complements the song and Morello's stupid solos always sound completely out of place and self indulgent. In My Opinion.
+David Oakes Says the guy possibly giving Morello shit for using FX? Works both ways. I happen to like both
everything was nice and dandy with Rob's innocent licks, then the cap drops that fire with the Killing in the Name solo.
you guys should do a series where you demo gear while playing with a bassist and drummer
seconded!
What would it sound like combining that pedal with the Korg Miku pedal? :P
that is the question that everyone is asking.
we would find out what cancer would sing like
oh man.... that's got next pedal board challenge written all over it!!!
Miku needs to be before the whammy xD
My pedalboard now consist of drop richochet boss sy1 miku and boss ve-500
Flex this to lousy keyboardist that did not want to practice
Digitech's detuner algorithm is the best. I got one of their old rack processors and the detune sounds amazing and works with all kinds of instruments. Super low bass on bass pedals or simulate them on a bass git, detune for single synth oscillators... this being in a small pedal sounds interesting, indeed!
I had a pitchfork for 3 years and it "popped" recently. Taking a swing on a Ricochet now. Both have their own unique sound.
Y’all always understand the assignment. It’s much appreciated.
Guys, even though I'd NEVER buy this thing, this was a GREAT video! Like a perfect demo. Fun, yet got in all the important points. And Bea.
Was not sure if I would like the video cause I didn't see the possibilities compared to the real Whammy ! but when Lee played Rage Against the Machine, I was like YES YOU CAN DO THAT !
Now i can properly play Silvera. thanks Chappez and Cap!
Cristian Popa gojira reference! \m/
you dont need one to play silvera, you need it to play Stranded or Only Pain
Shoutout to Rabea for playing the main riff of Pressure by Skindred at 15:11 :D
Did NOT expect the captain to play RATM,great stuff ;)
The classic mode glitches a bit on chords, in case you were wondering
Rabea's great. So happy to see your still using the Bassbreaker 007 in these videos. I got mine before your review and love it, nice to see it getting some love.
Best sounding fender amp ive ever seen other than a EVH amp
Digitech should have spent the time and money to make a full fledged mini Whammy pedal.
Yes, that would have been a lot better.
We should harass their Twitter lol
I think I read somewhere that they did the research into adding more Whammy features, but gave up after it cost more than an actual Whammy.
MacDougalPuppy... I'd probably pay a little extra I think, it'd fit onto the pedal board better that way
Except this thing is basically that.
Nice to see you're still using that guitar Rob ay
Have not seen Lee's mod in a while, maybe just me though. that strat was very cool. I like Robs better though.
+Dan 2c plus I think that's mainly because he made it to play Clapton, so he probably just uses it when playing Clapton type stuff
I know the Captain was really wanting to actually bend the note instead of hit the switch.
I could feel his pain.
Finally ive been waiting for you guys to do this. I have my preordered I'm so stoked to get it. First batch are stateside Digitech says
Immediately thought of Joe Satriani Raspberry Jam Delta V with this. God I love that song!
The best part is the size! A digitech whammy on a miniature pedal board! :)
11:50 -13:00 I've been looking for this all day, first demo that covered this subtle effect, nice!
Do "Bedroom Challenge" best quiet tone under 1k,
Yeah!mgreat idea!m
1K for a quiet/bedroom tone is a bit too much, dont you think?
THIS
yes!!
PRS SE Standard 24, Vox AC4, and pedals to suit.
When Lee hit that 4th Up button, it was the 70s all over again. Hair metal with its uptuned guitars....
**feels old**
Glad Rabia got to doing the rage solo. I think it's clear how that solo uses the expression pedal to get the timing of the bends just right. The awesome tele made this awesome video even more awesome.
i adooooore the way u improved your "montage" skills ! your videos have allways been funny but now it's like funny from another dimension, like space funny dude ! Getting better and better really like the thing :D
I can't believe how clean it is..usually you hit a chord with a whammy effect and it's really just weird sounding .but this is so clean and punctual and I'm gonna buy it
Was expecting wicked games, but that Tom Morello part blew my mind!
In a world where the PS-5 hadn't already happened over a decade ago this would be awesome.
Alan Angel not to mention the expression input on the PS-5
I love my PS-5.
I actually use this pedal to beef my guitar tone up since I’m without a bassist at the moment.
Try this pedal with a lap steel please! Turning it into a pedal steel. Or just some slide country licks on a telecaster.
wey-hey its pissing down over London! Thanks for the upload! :)
Rob's picking sounds like angels singing
The pitch shifting tracks amazingly well. There doesn't seem to be any lag or dodgey notes
the classic mode allows for the glitchy sound when you play chords, listen to radiohead subterranean homesick alien for example. chord mode removes the glichy sound and make it track better.
Rob's having a blast. I want one.
I will watch u guys before making further purchases.
loved the Skindred part haha
That's a great idea to give what a Whammy does in a more pedal board size pedal. The full Whammy can be too big. Just set the interval and click. Great.
Man that's an insane little pedal. Nice build quality too. Me likes.
Sooooooo it's like a sliding capo pedal?
Cool!
Thanks guys!!! I'm totally getting this.
This is great! I have a Morpheus Droptune that performs a similar function, but the momentary effect is immediate and the pitch can only be lowered. It's absolutely grand for playing stuff like QOTSA's "No One Knows" (C Standard) without having to lug a specially-tuned axe around.

Sweet demo, gentlemen - keep up the good work!
...also, love how chuffed Rabea looks when he starts playing with it.
Rabea you beast, ripping out the Skindred Pressure riff 15:10
I always watch the real review of a pedal before I watch these videos. They always don't know how something works haha good shout gentlemen!
Want to see more about dave's bass or your studio tour about you guys pedal board
You guys are great 😂😂 I watch all your videos chappers, don't stop making these hilarious review videos
Rabea playing Pressure by Skindred!! TUUNNNEEE!!!
That is the coolest pedal on fucking earth
Sounds like a cool pedal to do surf-style whammy bar downward bends on a hard tail guitar.
I demand a playoff with these two guys to see who's the best!!! Lol it sounds like a cool vid idea
I'm buying one immediately!!
I now know that beautiful Guitar Rob is using!!!
I want an hour of Bea going nuts with this thing!
'Lets see what happens with a slightly different TONNEEE' i almost died.
You should do a bunch of videos where you each make a rig for different genres and Rabea decides who's rig was better as a series. So for example you would make a blues rig, a metal rig ect
The videos you do in the shop are my favourite you do
Scalloped Tele, and a great tone from that amp
Ok, after looking at my needs which is -5 and +5, my question is "is the Drop pedal lower latency than the Richochet?"
love your guys channel keep rocking!
"Bea play rage..." (Bea plays audioslave) LOL
I really like this pedal. Much better than the other pedal like this you demoed a while back. This pedal works so much better. Kind of weird, Kind of strange, but kind of cool too.
Are you referring to the EHX Pitch Fork? I agree. I got it am not in love with it. You cannot simply change keys, the tracking and sound are not good enough, even fully blended.
Yes, the EHX Pitch Fork. That pedal is weak, but this pedal seems much better. Thanks for posting the name for me.
A envelope following whammy would be weird fun.
Very similar to the Pitch Fork by Electro Harmonix. The Pitch Fork has a mix control on it though, so you can choose how much of the signal is shifted to also use it as a harmoniser.
Love the first thing bea plays is skindred pressure
I need this to play the new Gojira song.
Dimebag would want this 🤘🏻
Just brilliant
Cool trick. My treadle is a little lose and lands in a different spot every time. That wiggle room makes it usable until I can actually take it apart and fix it.
Holy HELL that ML-2 is a beaut!
Made my dog howl in the end there.
hey rob, I just got a pair of those shoes, and that style is called the "chapman stripe"
RICOCHEEEEEET!
Gonna save that as my message ringtone :p
Nice demo. Thanks!
I play a very different style of guitar Rob but I like the cut of your jib.
I'm starting to understand why rob loves that amp so much... it sounds so massive through every guitar in this video!
Incredibly funny...... Thanks guys..... great show.
This THING is Dangerous! It's made you both drunk with Power - the Power you get with the Digitech Ricochet! Haha!
Gilmour to me made the best use of the original whammy pedal. Most uses I've heard sound more or less experimental and some not too pleasing. Lol. I actually love it though for the slow blues atmo sounds Gilmour used. Oh yes. I love David Gilmours tone and artistic value.
Does the Capt. tour at all? Because he totally should rock some blues gigs.
It's like half pressing the FF button on an old tape deck while playing a tape.
Warp speed Captain!
I used something very similar once actually. I think it was a Boss harmoniser pedal, but it could do some of what this pedal can do, and my old band used it when we covered "Reapers" by Muse.
There's been a few videos with wacky pedals like this that would be perfect for Muse but no one every fucking plays it! haha
An example is 16:46 perfect for Fury.
Fury would be so annoying to play with an expression whammy
Couldn't agree more man
Just the thought of it's making my foot ache hahaha
That Ricochet is a nice Pedal
One thing I noticed in the octaves, Chappers was hitting the bottom adjustment knob while stomping on the pedal on/off...would
suck to be messing up your settings by mistake...they should be farther away.
Cool video again! you rock
first riff bea plays sounds like a skindred song
I thought about EHX's pitchfork during the whole video.I was actually surprised you guys didn't mention it. With an expression pedal to set the speed of the pitch shift, it would do pretty much the same job wouldn't it?
that was awesome) love it)
PLEASE do a DigiTech Dirty Robot review!!!
great vid guys!
I think a real use of this pedal I could get behind is to change tunings between songs with a guitar that has a locking trem, would save me lugging a second guitar with me
Can someone make a 'Ricochet' counter and a compilation video of every time they say 'Ricochet'? XD
Sounds so good :3
Single and Chord modes do sound the same… when you play one note! Play the damn chords! It's in the name!
