A superb piece of filming from such an unusual viewpoint - made all the more special with the retirement of the "Tonka" from frontline duty. You've missed a treat if you never got to experience a Tornado, wings fully swept and ripping up the sky in person. Great to see the city skyline and Hale village. Thank you.
No matter how many times I watch this footage it makes me even more homesick than I already am... Unapologetic military aviation 'nutter', ex-RAF and lifetime Scouser. Doesn't get any better than this !
As I've been led to believe the Luftwaffe radio navigation system for bombing was intercepted and altered at one point (the term "bending the beam" was used) leading to a lot of that raid dropping its bombs on rural areas some miles to the south instead of Liverpool.

I can't find a more half arsed relaxed better landing of a fighter plane than this..... superb video.

Saw you guys on the day and throughout last season...absolutely awesome. Look forward to next year
Great to see this from their viewpoint, isn't it!?.....Brilliant!
Hello Mr pilot you just flew over my house in Wallasey heading towards Liverpool.
Great to see.
I'm from Liverpool so this video is the best!
GR4 swing wing of death. As soon as they go back yer getting it
Awesome demonstration of our Armed Forces, thanks for the video, you guys are the best : )
Awesome stuff, great seeing you both passing Liverpool.
Love our RAF
they flew over my house in flint twice that weekend a brilliant show
Im sorry but this is just amazing! Thank you for sharing
The Mersey is huge.
Just another day in the office for these boys , I think am in the wrong job ha ha
Bet this was quite a sight from the ground too, at this height.
great videos have a good xmas and new year see you in 2013
the british air industry is very Rooted and old and came with some of the best fighter aircraft in the world .....
Lightening for me . I've seen them in cape town and it could still mix it with the best . And so many countries have learned from british aviation .
Oh! to be that Navigator, What a job!
Bloody brilliant!! 😀
awesome
Can anyone tell me what the whistling sound is?
I flew down the Mersey in the Millennium Falcon.
More like a police van 🚐
Nice video but would have been nicer if the navigator didn't fidget so much. Was a bit distracting.
I wonder if these boys have been effected by the Government defence cuts?
Pity you can't hear the navigator talking to the pilot.
what is the that noise can be heard at 3.43 and 4.02
best guess would be the engines spooling up to maintain speed. If you look over the guys helmet you can see the speed-brakes deployed.
As twitchy as fuck that Navigator
Is this a Tornado stolen to order being delivered to Liverpool?
Its all moved on from the Ford Capri.
That was about as funny as aids
@@stephenmears3064 He`s just another mouthy muppet mate, who wouldn`t dare come here and say it in person.
Mate ,you're an absolute Sausage.
@@tba8241 'Calm down...calm down' LOL
Cripes bit close to shore line, you wouldn't have been able to land with no tyres!
Luftwaffe had same view what an easy target
Hilbre island was used a bombing decoy to attempt to throw the hun off
