I’m perpetually saving up for a Rickenbacker but then I keep buying something else instead... usually a Les Paul or Tele, and as good as they are I’ve got more than enough of both!! Watching and listening to this video I’ve come to the conclusion that I’m an idiot!! 😝
@@davidburke2132 Can't beat the Gibson and Fender sounds but there is just something about the Rickenbacker! It's sound is a symbol of two great music generations - the 60s and the 90s 🤩
This is my favourite version of on of my favourite songs. The definitive and archetypal britpop band for me. Bluetones, Gene and My Life Story. The tippermost, toppermost highs
I shan't close my eyes tonight I'm going to look at you instead And when at last you sleep my love I'm going to smash your lying head. the bluetones were NME's flavour of the month when this album came out. compared to stone roses and highly regarded as the savior of british guitar music. but of course some other bands came out the following month so NME didn't like the bluetones anymore, as is always the case!! NME is so fickle!!!!
nme music journos are all failed musicians themselves ,i hated the way they disregarded bands that the previous week they touted as gods!! your right the tones were once hailed as the new roses ,such was the impact of expecting to fly, shame it didnt turn out that way
warwickowl Na it doesn't, it can be heard pretty well enough already, and besides, it's not the kind of music that needs loud bass, it's more mellow, even their harder hits are mellow (except for the b side called Fock Da Brain Hole) ☺
Damien Swaby Why do people have to write stupid comments like this, it's not funny or clever and seriously no one really gives a shit that some nobodies disliked it. Why not just enjoy the vid and forget about the unimportant like/dislike shit? 😉
They are headlining at Napton festival july 9th. Supported by loads of good bands including mine , Siberian eel hounds ,( playing there for second year ). Its a great family day out. Get there and see the bluetones for the last time
Rathloriel i agree, went to see gomez last month they done their first album (bring it on) in its entirity it was awesome, might be the way forward for the britpop bands!
I was jumping about getting a bit lively enjoying the gig, maybe a bit too energetic for the crowd at Chinnery's on that occasion. Mark basically asked me to calm down, but as I'd had a few beers I didn't appreciate it. I'd basically brought every album, single, they'd released t-shirts and went to loads of gigs, so I was slightly upset. I just said to Mark what the fuck and I remember when ya used to be able to fill proper venues, then I went home. It's all good though I still love em.
@@barriniho nah mate I'm not on Instagram and it's not really my modus operandi to reach out, i don't want an apology i was mostly likely in the wrong fuelled by lager, i will go see em again i know they playung in October 👍
Devlin is the king of Rickenbacker. Outstanding guitarist
He's my favourite guitarist i think possibly ever
Don't forget John Squire too!! Such an underappreciated guitarist! Devlin that is...
The only guitarist fit to lace johnny marr's boots
He looks about 14 here, too!
The Bluetones! Awesome! What a song! New album rocks, why aren't they more popular? Adam Devlin is one of the most underrated guitarists...
Okay that's it! I'm saving up for a Rickenbacker! 😊🎸

How`s the fund coming on Deirdre ?
absolutely awesome... any bluetones fans who have not already.should try marks solo album . A Flash of darkness it's on youtube it's really good
One of the most under-rated bands of the 90s
That label could probably be applied to most 90s bands with the exception of oasis and blur who were overrated.

Reminds me of Dont Stand me down - slight return b side a bit
I shan't close my eyes tonight
I'm going to look at you instead

I'm going to smash your lying head.

Only 64,000 views what a joke, quality band and a top song

Mark's jacket.
cool love the Colorado beetle, intro.
God I love Mark Morriss' voice! Thank god for people like you saving all this stuff!
Pucha, ese guitarrista es todo, esta banda fue revelacion del 94.
always been a Les Paul man, but every time I listen to the 'tones (and the yardbirds), I think I really should buy a rickenbacker
Eds chesters ripping up the drums there. Quality.
Baby faced Ricky riff maestro!
Opening verse to Colorado Beetle - one of the best ever written! Lol.
LOVE it!
I'm glad Jools mentioned the drum kit at the end I was obsessed with that drum kit! Lurvely! Love the 'tones!
Must I look at the stars, and live in the dirt?
Great guitar work, bass needs turning up though

The second best guitarist placed on earth (after johnny marr, obviously)
What's the intro?
It's not on the album version
Colorado Beetle. It was a b side off the Bluetonic single
@@rix29 nicely done!! B sides were always a treat 🙌🏻

gawd never that intro before. Best of their tune this one.
still my fav band even though I did have a argument with em in Southend.
