    It has been discussed to tuck the harness behind the heat shield but I would personally recommend against that. You can tell it was not made to be that way from the factory. Also, the heat shield edges are sharp and I fear they could end up cutting the harness which would be just as bad! - DJL

    Just quick correction. At the 3:00 mark you said “for your reference this is the drivers side” when in reality it’s the passenger side 👍🏼

    What's up with the fuel pump recall on the EcoDiesel? I've got a 2023, no problems yet after 8500 miles, but it doesn't sound good for the future.

    You need to push the wire harness up and tuck it behind the heat shield

    • @dieseJL
      @dieseJL  2 роки тому

      I was hesitant to do that because there wasn't any room really. I feared that tucking it behind would move the heat shield and make a place for the harness to get cut on.
      I could tell it was not made to go that way from the factory so I did not do that.

    At 12,500 miles, I've gotten the electronic throttle control failure. Since then, I took my Jeep to the dealer, they changed the air filter and ran the Jeep for 100 miles. I also confirmed that all the fuses in the fuse box were seated in tight, some where lose from the factory.
    The only error msg I'm getting now on ocassion is the abs & brake light. I'm assuming one of the air tire sensor are bad.

    I used a couple of Zip Ties pulling the harness down in order to keep it from touching anymore.

    Just checked mine this weekend (2021 with 33k miles) and my harness was not attached. I was able to get it tucked behind a heat shield and clear the exhaust flange. No wear marks but definitely could have lead to some issues!

    Happened to me. Cost me a week at the dealer to fix told them about the post on wrangler forum. Had service shifter engine light on go into limp mode where only 1st gear avaiable and no power steering. Also had random service lights for ABS and traction control. Had to replace a front wheel sensor as well for the ABS issue. Dealer not aware of the problem but now they know.

    Unfortunately I didn’t see this video until it was too late. Wiring harness melted to exhaust and they are telling me it isn’t covered under warranty because factory didn’t install the wiring harness there. That it must have been moved by whomever installed the lift kit. After talking to the garage who installed the lift kit and then saying they don’t ever touch the exhaust or transmission, now they are saying it’s because of the rock light / automatic running boards wiring (which is running along the wheel well, not even near the wiring harness to the exhaust 🤦🏼‍♀️). I’m beyond frustrated that I have to pay for the issue when it’s an apparent factory problem! On to the next dealership who will fix it under warranty I guess.

    Just checked my 2022 Gladiator. My harness was secured properly, but it was still slightly touching the EGR tube. I covered the whole thing with aluminum foil tape and taped it onto that heat shield wall. I also covered up all the smaller exposed wires in that whole area with aluminum tape. Should be bulletproof now.

    Thanks for the Vid. I have a 21’ gladiator deisel and I have this issue that when I’m going up hills and putting a little strain on the motor it starts cutting out like it’s not getting enough fuel. Almost like I’m running out of gas. I’ve changed the fuel filter, run countless tanks of deisel though the motor. And nothing improves. It’s still drivable, just cuts out under strain going up a hill. I only have 8500 miles on it. The dealer has no explanation. Dealer believes it’s caused by my heavy tires (40’s). Doesn’t make sense they only weigh 200 lbs more than stock. Any suggestions

    • @dieseJL
      @dieseJL  Рік тому

      It’s not the weight it’s the massive gear reduction. The dealer is probably right, cutting out because it’s just not designed to sit at max power up hills forever. Maybe getting warm or something. You need to re gear
