Thank you for the tip in your video! I had problems with the printhead on my MG7120 a few years ago, cleaned it, and got it working again. When an error came up last week saying I had the wrong printhead, I skipped the cleaning and ordered a third-party printhead off Amazon. Once I swapped out the old one with the new, I was surprised to get the B200 error because I knew the new one was clean. Lucky for me, I found your video, followed the tip at the end, and it worked!
I know this video is from 4 years ago but man did it just save my butt! I wish technology companies would just come out and help fix it like you did instead of letting us all struggle! SO THANK YOU!
Ciao ho smontato la testina pulita asciugata ma dopo qualche ora il problema si è ripresentato,a te ha funzionato questo di chiudere tutto appena parte
@@quattrocchi71 You will need to make sure the print head is not in the starting position. I unplugged the printer and manually moved it far to the left. I then powered it on with the lid open; I believe that is the key. Once it starts cycling, close the lid and that did it for me. Good luck to you!
Thanks very much. Followed this method. Powered up when the carriage was in the parked position but with all covers open. As soon as the carriage moved I shut everything and the printer reset correctly. Thanks again.
This was the ONLY video where the fix actually worked AFTER removing the print head, cleaning it etc. Thanks to you and whomever was the original person that figured it out.
Thank you so much for your help. I really admire the fact that you recorded and posted this video to help others even though you had not done videos before or posted on UA-cam, you still wanted to help others who are stuck like you were. Your the kind of selfLESS person that this world needs more of today. Thank you again.
Well THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! I viewed numerous other videos about clearing/fixing this B200 error. Only one other was really helpful in that it showed all the steps on exactly how to get the print head out, etc. But once I had seen how to get the print head out and all the other steps (including buying and installing brand new ink cartridges although the old ones still seemed fine), I was still getting the error. The 'fix' was the trick that you showed as far as powering up the printer with the various parts still open, then quickly closing them during the power-up-and it worked! My next step was to buy a new print head (which I don't really want to do) because I need a printer like the Pixma 922 to print on CDs and DVDs (a feature you just don't find anymore, sadly in printers). THANK YOU AGAIN! -Gary
Thank you, I've watched dozens of videos on the B200 error that popped up on my MX922 yesterday, tried soaking the print head on iso alcohol and cleaning it, etc. This worked! Thanks again!
Fixed! I can't believe it! I bought three printers because of this error. The print head replacements or repair were about the same cost. I was determined not to buy a fourth. And now I am going to have three working printers! Thank you and God bless you too!
That's amazing . I did all cleaning, resetting and other stuff, and it did not work. You found the way to reset the error. The way the Canon guys are keeping in secret. Thank you a lot.
OMG, You have no idea how much of a True life saver. I Talked my aunt into buying a cheap ink and she doesn't use her printer that much. She is a person who plays the Blame game on everybody Even if it's 10 years down-the-line you may have touched her printer one time in your whole life and its your fault. Anyways Every time I knew they she wasn't going to be home I would sneak over and work on this printer and couldn't get rid of that code and she had never seen it. Finally your video have saved the day. Thank you so Much
Thank you so much!!! I did have to add one step, I had to push my printer port all the way to my right, then close the doors when it moved, then it worked!!! Doing it without doing that didnt work, but I would have never known without your video. You have a nice narrator voice too!!!! HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY!
Thank you!!! Owned my Canon MX922 for at least 3 or more years then suddenly got the dreaded B200 error message. Referred to the owner's manual which was useless! Watched several videos verifying the B200 message was nothing more than a clogged printhead. Removed the ink cartridges and the printhead and thoroughly rinsed the printhead. Let it dry. Thanks to YOUR video I only rinsed the printhead once then aligned it as you indicated before turning on the power. Works great! (3/14/2021)
Well you helped me I almost threw out the printer your trick worked like a charm thanks for taking the time to make the video. You saved me $300.00 maybe more Thanks Ron R
Thank you soooooooo much! I have been messing with this thing for two weeks, trying everything to no avail. Stumbled across your video because of your title (after cleaning the printhead). I'll be darn, it works! Thanks again, Red!
I CAN KISS YOU!!!!! AHHHH! THANK YOU!!! same story as you. I have cleaned the head everyday for 5 days now. hot water, alcohol, every thing. tried cleaning the sensors, tried rebooting... on an on an on. I dont have money for a new one but I researched some anyway. This printer is 7 years old, but only used like 10 times a month. I just couldnt believe this was the end of its life. But your trick worked. THANK YOU!
I spent 3 hours cleaning and trying to fix it. I decided it was time to buy a new one. I started looking on UA-cam for a review for a different printer and decided to watch this video as one more try to fix the problem and omg this solved the problem. Saved me the 250 dollars and let me keep this printer i love. Thank you so much. Words can't tell you how thankful I am
I always look for info online before i try to fix anything. i know a little about a lot of things but this was the best easy fix ever. You the man! thanks for posting this.
THANK YOU!!! No matter what i did I kept getting the B200 error. I came across your video and did the plugging in before I closed the cover and that did the trick. Thank you so much!!!
Thank you so much. I just needed to get the scanner working again. Such a simple fix, but took me a couple of years off and on trying to find it. Must have cleaned the print head a dozen times! You might not be a UA-cam star yet, but you have my vote! Thank you!
yesss! just fixed my b200 error. I tried it 5 times, no luck.. then the last time, i was about to order a new print head and looking for the correct part number, I moved the cart to the left, but just before it slides into the printer. Plugged in the power, switched it on, closed everything during start up... and it's working just fine!! Just printed my nozzle test page and looks perfect. So Red Joyce, thanks a lot for posting this video.
THANK YOU!! I DID THE EXACT SAME!! Was VERY frustrated! Upset as I paid a good price on this....if it wasnt for you I would have thrown it out and bought a new one. It was only 18 months old. Glad you did the video!!!
Wow! I thought no way this works, but after cleaning my print heads and still getting the B200 error I thought, give it a shot. And this worked! Thank you so much.
Dude, you are my hero, I am extremely tech savy but it never occured to me to do this little trick, thank you so much for recording this and helping out people.
WOW! Thank you!! What a stupidly simple yet completely non-sesnical fix! I watched several videos before yours and this finally did the trick! Thank you so much for posting and helping your fellow humans! 🙂
What a PoS printer.. it worked... I didn't clean the head just removed it... placed it back in... left everything open... powered on... 2 seconds into powering on.. I closed everything and it worked like magic... I swear this will be the last canon/ink printer i will be buying.. I'm moving on to laser.. cheers and good luck
Many thanks! This fixed the error after all the other tries including 2 rounds of cleaning the print head and other attempts! Again - many thanks for the simple method, which fixed it and for posting the video!!
That's completely crazy. I've been trying and trying to figure out how to get this working again after cleaning the heads and it was this. This fixed it. Unreal. Thanks again!
I finally got the Error message to leave and the printer looked like it was going to print. Then, the entire printer died. It won't go on again. Any suggestions?
THANK YOU! I cleaned and cleaned. Still didn't work. Bought a new print head from China. Still didn't work. Watched the other guys video, still didn't work. Found and watched yours. Didn't realize I had to close the machine quickly before cycle finished. Now both print heads work! I love this machine! Has lots of added features. I wish China made things to last 50 years like when USA did it's own manufacturing. It is a wasteful country with max product life designed to last less than 3 years and buy again. All those tons of un-recyclable plastic machines setting off toxic gasses as they smolder in the heat, sitting in our landfills and California bans straws and plastic bags. Build things to last. Bring back USA made in America manufacturing and save thousands over the course of a lifetime on just one product alone and clean up our earth.
I had watched another video from 303 Electronics quickly going through the process, but I do appreciate your breakdown of the steps you went through, and that the KEY was having the print head out during power-on. It may have been shaky, but this was a good breakdown. I just finished running a nozzle print test after removing and putting my ink cartridges back in (didn't even replace them), and all seems good now!
God bless - your video made all the difference! I watch a bunch of others, but I used your technique which then allowed for me to run a few built in cleaning functions & she is purring along! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
Thanks! This worked for me on a canon mx882. Cleaned the print head, still got B200 error. Tried this trick of starting it while opened up, and closing it while it was booting and moving around. Worked!
Wow I haven't look at this video in forever. I'm not a UA-cam guy I just made it because it fixed it for me and wanted to help other and it looks like it has for many. Sorry for you that have given this video a thumbs down if it didn't work for you. One thing is you have to have everything open, the print head moved out of the parked (not all the way to the right), power it on and close it all up fast and you may have to do it a few times to get the timing down.
Thanks You so Much Brother for the SECRET. It worked on mine. Super. I was going nuts with the printer problem for a few days, clean the head, new driver installed, Inks replaced. Still it was not working. Your secret did work. Thanks again.
Yeah man, I cannot believe it but after doing your instruction, my printer works again. First, it looked to me, that your fix cannot be possible, because it seems to me as a hardware problem. But then I tried it and now I know, that my technical thinking is not always correct ;) best regards and thanks a lot
God bless you buddy...I wish I could share you my results. I did the same to I printer somebody gave up on it. After cleaning and changing the cartilages several times still didnt work out. But applying your ticknique...boom it all went in play...my model is MG6450
I gotta say , you hacked the secret CANON company machine code , trying to leave printer useres helpless after they properly clean the print head. Moreover, you outdid the other 100 you tube tutorials and postings about this matter, which collectively are useless. I say: right on ! thanks so much , God bless you, too.
Thank you thank you thank you !!’ It worked I literally opened it all up and plugged it up and once it turned on I closed it like you said and boom thank you
Hi Red Royce. I have the MX922 printer as well. My printer gives a message that the 'Cover is open' so it won't start processing until I close the cover so I can't get this to work. Did you have that issue and if so, how did you get around it? Thanks for any help. Stay healthy.
Also a B200 error on my MG7150... cleaned the head several times and followed your instructions and it works for a moment. Followed by cleaning or deep cleaning and when I tried to print the nozzle patern the printer jumpes directly to the B200 error. Also unpowered for a night and started over again accoring to your instructions and same cleaning and printing the nozzle. Again B200... Bougth later on a used MG7150 whith origininal cartridges and seller told me he always used original cartridges. Cartridges were almost empty and replaced them with my cheaper cartridges (which worked for years without problems). A week later on this "new"MG7150 a B200 error. Again same procedure and it worked till the first print, again a B200. Tried your procedure several times and still B200 comming up at the first print. And now desperate... and bought a new Epson Expression Photo XP-970 after 25 years of Canon-printers, sometimes with problems but most of the time working perfect. I think Canon has updated the printer software and therfore it's cousing a B200 error when using cheap cartridges.

That extra final thing about closing everthing during reboot is what what needed! Thank you!!!

Hilarious! A funny story to go along with my happy ending to my printing nightmare! Today is a good day!

Omggg. Your comment save my printer. Thank you so much. I pushed the printer port to the right and close completely then it work.
What do you mean by the printer port? The actual print head that moves you mean??

This worked for me when none of the other hard reset tricks worked. I don't know why it should work, but it does. Thank you for passing this along.
Feb 2021: Your UA-cam helped me get my printer working again. Thanks red royce. Much appreciated.
Thanks. My printer is aging but I love it and would rather not have to replace it if I can help it. Your video helped me.

It worked! Thank you! And that other guy. We'll see if it keeps on going.
Just kidding it went back to that error☹️😭
Hi Red Royce. I have the MX922 printer as well. My printer gives a message that the 'Cover is open' so it won't start processing until I close the cover so I can't get this to work. Did you have that issue and if so, how did you get around it? Thanks for any help. Stay healthy.

Make sure you close it all up after powering it on as fast as you can???

Great! It worked. Thank you!
Thank you, so much, Red Royce!
Wow! Thank you so much! Finally working!!!!!!!
