I think necrolord is another (underrated) option for warlocks. There is a soulbind trait that gives a 15% max hp shields when you fall below 50% hp, and it's on the same soulbind that makes necro barrier give cc immunity and bonus heals. This passive is on an insane 30sec CD too. The healing/sec it can provide if you're getting trained and it procs on CD, is equal to demonskin. it's 15%/30sec=5%/10sec=0.5%/sec, which is exactly the same as demonskin, which has made up 80% of lock healing since legion. And if you're not getting trained, it provides you with a small safetynet to counter dying in stuns against rogues and such. Nightfae does nothing at all when you get stunned, which after losing C&S essence, becomes the most devastating flaw of warlocks once more. Having a 30sec CD passive that can potentially save your team from having to spend more important CDs on you, is huge. At least compared to a 1.5min CD that lets you almost escape but not really. So many melee can still outrun the nightfae blink, it can be countered with things like DK slows and grip, or just being stunned on it instantly.
I second that. Necrolord is still an insane good choice for being tanky. Essentially to me it comes down to this since both got buffed : Necrolord = Tankier / Night Fae = Movement. And we ALL know, as warlocks, how melee are **constantly** on us. We do not have the root conflag anymore, so blinking doesn't do that much. Like Fmages can nova twice for example, we can only exhaust. I was honestly torn so hard as the last buff got in for Warlocks... Just because the difference in the utility CD is 1 minute... 1 minute is H U G E in arena. I still went Necrolord tho. Can't pass up on that incredible bonus tankiness.
The Kyrian Ability for Hunters is not a bug. There was a blue post about it 2 months ago. "Additionally, when a target leaves the Resonating Arrow area, the effect that allows you to ignore line of sight towards them will last for an additional 4 seconds."
Tbh i think kyrian is the better option pve wise since its an additional dot and if the target dies you get 5 soul shards and as a destro lock you can double dot with havoc
What about destruction warlocks? You mentioned destro + resto as one of the best 2v2 comps, over affliction. But all the guides for covenants and such seem to be for affliction. Should destro warlocks also go for Night Fae? Or is the 100% dmg increase of incinerate with necrolords better, or the kyrian dot used with havoc?
When I picked my covenant, I had no idea what soulbinds were. I went Night Fae as HPally because of the kiting mobility and Blessing of Summer for supporting kill attempts. I haven't really played since Cata, so I don't know of recent metas, but that was my reasoning. Think I should be concerned about my choice?
Hello! Just wondering if you guys are putting out future installments of your "settings" videos? Specifically which addons etc and more arena specific :)
can you tell now that the game is live what the best legendary for arms warrior in pvp is? im currently able on tuesday to equip and make a legendary so would like it to be the right choice, leaper seems good, so does unhinged, but there are alot of good options
You current "Warlock Shadowlands 9.0 Guide | Best Race, Talents, Covenants, Soulbinds, Conduits & Legendaries" Is based on "Venthyr", so will you be making a new Covenant guide for Night fae with Soulbinds etc.
To be honest i chose Night Fea for my feral and 100% sure that is the strongest, at 176 item lvl it use 16 of my skills in 4 sec. including damaging and healing abilities, those damages in 4 sec deal a total of 40k single target if crits.
Destruction warlock defo needs to go necrolord. The Decimating bolt skill, gives you 3 overpower, near like chaos bolt damage, incinerates. Really OP. Imo ofc...
I do mostly pve.. But the big dps atm is with night fae, if thats what you're going for. But the cooldown for resonating arrow is shorter and gives you the ability to hit ppl from behind walls.. So for pvp i would guess Kyrian.
Can you swap between them? Lol yes but actually no.....do some more research for disappointment. I’m uninformed on the exacts of the time gating behind some of it, Belluar covered it fairly well in a recent video.
Yeah, this seemed like an odd choice. The sprint form is nice, but so is a blink ability, and both get a somewhat mediocre aoe dot ability. The thing that sets venthyr apart is the kick reduction, since our class generally only has one spell school. I'm not sure why they think warlock is any different than mage/priest in their desire for a blink and kick reduction.
@@broco1163 I think Skill Capped’s decision could be motivated by the fact that the venthyr teleport ability is also in the shadow school, so you cannot use it when locked on e.g. fear, while you can use the night fae ability to turn into a fox since it’s nature.
Sorry SC but my warrior is going Venthyr. Having a shadow damage abiity is the only way warriors can bypass armor reducing our damage. DoS is just too good too for uptime.
