- 2019 Mazda 3 hatchback review. This is a quick review of the new 2019 Mazda 3 hatchback. The new Mazda 3 is a fantastic choice in the compact hatchback segment. This is my first time driving a Mazda and I'm very happy my first Mazda is the all new Mazda 3 Hatchback.

I literally have no idea why I was out of focus this whole video, this has never happened before but the information is still good so enjoy the video. I bought my Mazda 3 hatch AWD in December 2021 and it is easily the best car I have ever owned. Fucking amazing.

Just bought one! Got it in the 2019 Machine Grey Metallic. Love, love love it. I feel like living in my new mazda3 hatchback is a step up from living in my apartment. I got the baseline model and the interior feels like a bmw or something. so comfortable.

Great video, just subscribed! This was the first Mazda I drove as well, I was super impressed with the interior quality but felt that it was too slow in a straight line. It needs a turbo, or at least paddle shifters.

Perfect daily commuter car, with some great style and added utility with the hatchback. Road trip heaven for 2 adults +kids in the back if you've gotta bring them lol

At that point in time I won't be bogged down with being distracted by the salesman trying to explain all that to me. Super happy this helped yea I really try to approach these car reviews with a sense of reality and not just glorify them for no reason. People shell out hard earned money and they deserve to know what it’s going to be like to live with. Like you mentioned know how a car makes you feel is important. Love the way Mazda’s are set up, feels natural and confidence inspiring
Actually, mazda engineered the lock up clutch so you have more direct feel while still having the ability of the torque converter. Its just an awesome transmission!

Hey man, another car you might want to check out that is in the same compact class is the Hyundai Elantra GT N line. Heard good things. Would like to get your opinion on it and preferably a review.

Totally loved your review, I can vouch for what you are trying to convey regarding the sales figures of Mazda. I lived in Canada and now living in Australia. Mazda is the 2nd largest brand in Australia and number one private seller brand. The people who are not checking out Mazda are not doing any favour to their hard earned money. Why you should buy a mediocre product while superior ones are available. If you want a mainstream vehicle go for the other brands but, if you want a luxury car with great reliability and if you are willing to pay a bit more go for Mazda. I have owned 2 Honda and 2 Mazda and I can say Mazda’s are superior products.
Side not: I am waiting for the delivery of my Mazda 3 hatch top trim in soul red crystal colour it.

Hmm I don’t think I can compare them but hopefully I can get Hyundai’s to review and that will be one of the cars because the Elantra is also an excellent vehicle that rides really well! But you can see my most recent videos I got a Kia Soul to review but no Hyundai’s yet!
Nice review buddy, and such a shame about the focus, I know you know :) Actually these sell well here in Australia and when I test drove the SP25GT a couple of years ago I was really bloody impressed it was a total pocket rocket, maybe they don't sell well over there due to the mentality rightly or wrongly of bigger is better!

Yea I’ve heard Mazda does good in other parts like in Canada and as you mentioned Australia. I’m happy the rest of the world has it together but man I guess the States don’t like good cars really unfortunate maybe I’ll make a video addressing that haha.

They sell like hot cakes in Australia. They are serious value for money and also very reliable. I’ve had Mazda 3’s for 20 years and not one of them ever let me down. When I turn that key, that motor starts!
Weird how they don't seem to sell in the US. Here in Québec, the Mazda3 (along with the CX-3 and CX-5) sell like hotcakes! Definitely up there in the top 5 best sellers with the Civic, Corolla and Elantra
Hi Vlad thanks for stopping by again yes very confused by their sales figures here as well. The other cars in the segment that I really like such as the new Corolla Forte Elantra etc are nice however they feel like compacts. This Mazda 3 feels too nice to be a compact lol like it’s far above its class type of thing. Great cars I hope to do more reviews on them and maybe get some more publicity on these cars.

how do you like driving this compared to the older mazda 3/mazdaspeed3?
I’ve never driven the previous Mazda 3 however, I have rode in one. This feel far more comfortable and had a bit more space in the rear however I apologize I can’t comment on the drive

Im interested in this car alot. Ive been searching for a all leather interior car fot some time that isnt porsche, bmw, mercedes, audi, or lexus. Those cars are too expensive for me. However the 2016 glc 300 is on my mind.. Hyundai kona was also but the interior was all cheap plastic. I like everything about this car but not the price tag.
I can understand that, are you ok with leading? If you’re looking at a Benz I’m assuming so because I believe Mazda’s lease out really well. If I wanted a Mazda 3 it would be a fully loaded one like you see in this video but probably with a manual and I would try to get a great no money down lease on it because Mazda’s seem to lease out good
The Mazda dealer where I'm from isn't very good. I'd go out of town for this car.

Oh yea it’s definitely Black it’s got a crazy nice pearl metallic finish to it pretty premium for its class but Mazda 3 def costs more than rivals

Hey Robert thanks for stopping by, yea Mazda is really into developing new motors and making breakthroughs. I’m all for Mazda but man the majority of people are not, I don’t understand why their sales are so low
I absolutely love everything about the Mazda 3 but there’s no decent engine. The 1.5t and 1.6t from Honda and Hyundai respectively are far superior. If this car had the 2.5t found in the Mazda6 available with the both manual and auto transmission I’d trade in my civic tomorrow.
The honda civic is probably the fastest car in the class due to it's turbo motor but the reason why i never advocate turbo motors in normal cars is because it does add complexity if you keep it long term. The mazda motor they put in this is tried and true with pretty decent hp ratings. Power will be linear and smooth. Maybe one day they can make a mazda speed 3 with the combination you mentioned haha. Civic is a great car too and great driving
The sales on the Mazda3 are low because people in this country don't have a mind of Their Own they are a bunch of followers. if their friend by the BMW Benz or an Lexus they have to run behind them to go and try to buy the same car. Lately Toyota have been a big mess with the most recalls I have ever seen but yet they are making the most money. Honda with almost every car past the year 2000 have been constantly breaking down unreliable Transmissions are very weak. Now Nissan with the CVT I don't understand what's going on but most people in this country just seems to keep on buying those same cars. Without looking into anything else most people don't understand Suzuki is some of the best cars out most reliable but the place is so bias that Suzuki went out of business in the United States this is what possibly could happen to Mazda if most people don't recognize.
I was literally going to make a video addressing Mazda sales. Literally best in class vehicles and nobody cares. I will say their prices are on the higher side however, it’s in line with Honda prices for the most part. Also they were married to Ford in the early 2000s and quality wasn’t the best I admit however like Kia/Hyundai they did a 180 and are making the best cars.
I remember Suzuki they’re great cars like you said and as you mentioned, America is the only problem. In the rest of the world Mazda Suzuki sell like hot cakes. Mazda does great in Canada and Australia as my subscribers from those parts informed me. Regardless I want to get the word out about Mazda.

I just got a new one and I'm in 7th heaven. Have to drive it every day! The Mazda 3 Hatchback is the best of the best as far as I'm concerned. I just couldn't be happier.
Ton of power, not so much. 0 to 60 at 7.5 for the FWD and past 8 for the AWD due to the added weight. It’s a pretty package and more refined then some but it’s a bit of all show and no go compared to the competition.

The only problem with the hatch is that it is a bit claustrophobic in the back, but the sedan does not have that problem. But the hatch looks nicer in my opinion. And in the uk we have the front numberplate! My eyes are ruined, the front numberplate looks disgusting slapped in the middle of the grill
I def want to try the sedan out for sure but yea I understand regarding front license plate few states here actually that requires it as well and it’s not pretty but is what it is. Thanks for stopping by my friend
@Exhaust Sports Auto Thank you for replying. And I think you are allowed to shift the numberplate (to the windscreen or underneath the grill) in the uk anyway, but I am unsure.

you need to try out a new corolla then corolla has and always will be a great car. Mazda 3 is amazing but please do keep in mind these are not ferraris they are compact cars. Please compare within it's class

Nobody is going to notice the difference between the torsion beam and IRS? Sorry, but I disagree. I just got the 2020 corolla with the rear IRS setup and it's much better; it drives better; it feels better; it is just better.
What I meant by "nobody" is the children who are going to buy these cars or the parents of the children who will be buying these cars for them in America. People here don't even know what the hell a torsion beam even is. Yes there is a difference but to someone who can't tell that difference it's not even worth mentioning. Like I said at the beginning, I already published the corolla review it's a car I really like but overall a multi link alone was not enough for me to justify saying the corolla is better than this.

Love the fluidic exterior of the new Mazda 3 and the interior is simply top notch. Have to thank Mazda for putting LED headlights on even the base model.
My only gripe would be the piano black plastic and the fact that a front license plate would totally ruin the look.
Agreed my friend, I think my Colleague Forrest Auto said it best, this car doesn’t even feel like it should be in the compact car segment this feels so above the competition from the drive to the interior. And yes I agree the only main con is the piano gloss black trim which won’t be easy to maintain otherwise, I think this is my favorite in the segment. Will have the corolla hatch review up soon. Yes, I watch his videos too. Like the fact that you accessed the car from the dealership instead of the manufacturer. That’s the way to go to churn out videos quickly without any kind of restrictions or embargoes.
