It's my favourite episode, the idea of the siths being wiped out and are slowly trying to rebuild in the shadows It's interesting and I'd like to see more, that finisher was also really cool.
The japanese dub is way better, in almost all of the episodes. The english dub was so bad in this episode. But if i would have to choose from all 9, the first one is still the one i would like to see become a show.
Watch outer banks lol
@@trupe | I thought this episode and the ninth jedi sounds the best out of all of the other English dubbed episodes but I accept your opinion.
This felt like a true reflection of Qui Gon & Anakin had he survived the Maul fight, you can see the senior/father relationship, widsom and teaching they lean into which was ultimately Anakins downfall with Obi, having more of a competitive brother relationship.
Exactly
The way the Master moved was straight up some Miyamoto Musashi moves. That first lunging forward after he changed his guard, from that move only, they both knew he was the better duelist.
The old Sith resorting to force lighting was basically him admitting defeat at swordsmanship.
I absolutely love the design and portrayal of the Elder. Small, old and feeble, yet posseses a vast amount of knowledge and skills that makes him frightening and dangerous.
Never knew I needed David Harbour as a Quigon like Jedi in my life
This episode almost feels like an AU where Quigon didn't die and ended up training Anakin
The master did a great example of Trakata, which means disabling your lightsaber and turning it back on to throw an opponent off guard. Of course it was mostly used during lightsaber combat but this time it was used while deflecting the lightning. The Jedi Consulars invented it and Consulars almost if not all had green-colored blades. Not sure if it was intended but very well done.
Didn't Dooku have a switch on his saber that shortened the blade or something? I feel like that's kinda similar cause he could shorten the blade and do pretty much the same thing
@@jneumy566 Some lightsabers did have that yeah because Dooku was one of the greatest duelists but Trakata was straight up turning the blade off so if the enemy was applying too much pressure and that counteractive force suddenly disappeared they could seriously stumble. As much as I'd think Dooku would do that too, Grievous would definitely do it.
This is tied with The Duel as my favorite episode of this season. Also I love it because this looks like it was during the High Republic era, when the Jedi were in their absolute prime. And The Elder Sith is honest to god one of the most awesome looking characters I’ve ever seen in Star Wars. The fact that his lightsabers were shaped exactly like katanas! I bet if George Lucas saw this episode he would smile ear to ear.
And stand and applaud for David Harbour as the Jedi Master, now I want to actually see him live action in Star Wars as this character.
More people needs to read High Republic novels, they´re so good
Just looked it up, and David Harbour DOES voice the Jedi Master. James Hong also voices the Sith Elder.
Hong was Azmorigan in Rebels, right? Because the old guy sounds a lot like him
@@jneumy566 yep
Jordan Fisher played the Padawan
Knew Hong was the Elder his voice is so distinct😁
This was one of my top 3 favorites, along with Ninth Jedi and Lop and Ocho. It's probably my favorite really, because I think about it the most. When Dan was cut down I was like "Ok this is pretty hardcore" but it was the lesson about time being the main factor in who won the battle, not good vs evil, that I really liked. There are times in anime when a positive attitude and sheer willpower can do anything, and then times like this where life is tied to the cold but balanced truths of natural law.
I love this master and padawan duo! Tajin and Dan are my favorites from Visions just because of how much JEDI they radiate
Dan: Have you ever seen anything like this?
Master: I have seen stranger things.
Ba dum. Tiss!
I thought David Harbor as the master and Jordan Fisher as Dan did a really good job!!
James Hong as the Elder is amazing.
I would 100% watch a calm cool and collected live action David Harbour as a Jedi
the voice acting in this episode was amazing!
This one is in my Top 3. Really cool art style and action, and the lack of music in most of it had a crushing intensity to the anticipation of the fated battle.
You guys don't know James Hong, he voiced The Elder in this episode. He's in a lot of shows and movies. David Harbour was good as Tajin.
Definitely one of my favorite Visions episodes. If I had one criticism, it's that the dialogue bordered on too stilted and stereotypical to be natural even in a cartoon setting, but for a brief story like this I was willing to accept it. Everything else about the episode was great.
Really? The dialogue was actually one of the most enjoyable aspects of this episode for me. It felt very grounded and realistic imo.
It fits with the prequel trilogy dialogue, which is probably about when this takes place.
Well A: If you go back to Episode 1 this is quite similar to how Qui-gon and Obi-wan talked to each other and many of the other Jedi in the prequels.
(Anakin and to some extent Obi-wan are the exception and while it works to show the lack of discipline in Anakin, i think it was a bad call to portray the relationship that way, since it's the longest example of master-apprentice we get in any of the movies.
B:The dialogue wasn't written in english, they certainly did their best but some meaning is lost, and added to that is that the Padawan in the dub isn't quite getting across some of the sarcasm that's much clearer in japanese (in my own opinion, i don't know exactly which parts you refer to.)
Did anyone else notice a Obi Wan and Qui Gon vs Darth Maul moment in this fight or was it just me? 1. mysterious hooded sith, 2. padawan and master blue and green lightsabers, 3. both master and apprentice got separated and one was defeated before dying to the other, but the master and apprentice role was swapped by having the apprentice fall while in The Phantom Menace the Master was defeated. great episode and reaction!
Ya know what? Master Roshi being a Sith lord makes total sense ;p
Passionate😌
Yes! My absolute fav episode!
Same.
I am REALLY impressed by Harbour in this. He sounded totally unlike his typical self and absolutely perfect for this role.
i need more star wars anime in this art style it looks so clean
One of my favorites! This really gave me Qui-gon and obi wan vibes!
This was my favorite episode !!!
Same.
Despite not being one of my favourites, serious props to this one. Solid episode, probably the strongest out of my personal top 4. The episodes left are the last two in that top 4, so buckle up!
This was pretty damn good. I wish it was longer.
While the episode itself wasn’t my favorite, I must say I loved the Elder’s design and style. Might be one of my favorite Star Wars minor villains so far.
This series has been real good!
By far the best episode
You guys seem super on top of your content recently, I’m so glad! :)
James Hong as well did a great job as The Elder. Very different from the kind of character that he plays in Kung Fu Panda.
This is the one episode where I actually preferred the English dub? The Japanese voices for the Jedi were too deep imo, especially for the padawan, it just didn't fit him at all.
Oh man i Love all your reactions so much and i would love if you did Lucifer also
Jedi should never split up. That should be day one training.
Mr. Ping is scary when he doesn't have his noodles.
He sounds like younger Charles Dance, turned out to be David Harbour.
I know it's not that one yet but episode 9 felt very anticlimactic for the final one of the series. If one of the other episodes replaced this one as last it would feel less like that. Maybe if The Duel, The Village Bride or The Ninth Jedi took it's place instead, getting to the end of that phenomenal series would've felt less... abrupt? The last few episodes just whiz by. All this to say, I liked it but I want more so hopefully it is successful enough that Disney will consider another season or making a couple of shows around the best one-offs.
Another amazing reaction
This episode is a masterpiece!
If you don’t fuck with the elder… I don’t fuck with you ;((
Is it just me or does David Harbour sound just like Harrison Ford?
This is very off topic, but did you possibly star briefly in Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia in season 1 episode 3??
John i have that shirt!
yay a good one
An evil version of Mr. Miyagi...
Anybody really want a studio Ghibli watch along series after this
Y'all seen the Arcane Netflix trailer yet?
The woman's are the enemy in most of the 9 episodes
React to the Arcane trailer on Netflix!
I need you guys to react to the final season of walking dead please even if it's on patreon ill watch
I'm honestly so happy this series isn't canon its allowing the studios to do things that wouldn't have been able to do otherwise. And I really hope none of these characters are brought to live action just because inwamt this to stay its own alternate star wars universe. Also I really hope a few of the studios get to expand on the stories from their episodes.
why yall look the sane in every video since like 4 years ago
Greg has for sure had a glow-up.
@@Nemisis007 i agree, ive been following since maybe 2017 and i just fell like they look the exact same lol
Disappointed, yeah of course the visuals and story is good. But come on, I couldn't even get this sith to win... the freaking padawan survived, why.
Cause of random plot protection
Some of the episodes sucked. But The Duel, The Twins was okay, The Village Bride were good. The Ninth Jedi was good, but she had no experience with a lightsaber and the first time she picks it up she is good? Whatever. The Elder is my other favorite it was just good, a good story and everything. Last episode was interesting. Those were the only ones I actually liked because they were the ones that A, didn't suck or B, had the least or no intersectionel feminism and deconstruction of gender norms or sjw agendas in them.
Umm what buddy? XD
I didn't feel any forced agendas while watching this series personally but I respect your opinion, The Elder was my personal favourite episode.
Literally none of them had intersectional feminism or deconstruction of gender norms. Japan doesn't really care about those things nearly as much as North America or Europe. If you didn't like some episodes then you didn't like them and that's okay, no need to make up reasons for not liking them. For the Ninth Jedi, as I understood the episode, lightsabers were scarce during that time so I assumed that most of those guys were also newbies to lightsaber combat and the main character was supposedly really talented so she could manage fighting multiple opponents with similar levels of experience.
@@alecczar8680 Hollywood, Disney especially pushes political agendas. Intersectionel feminism and deconstruction of gender norms, woke sjw virtue signaling. They have made that very clear, Kristina Arielle for example, she has said some racist things which Star Wars has backed her up on. Then there's the issue with KK Palpatine but that is looking like she is losing power in the creative department of Star Wars, which is good. The thing is in Japanese anime, they don't push it, in America it is still there just not as much as say in Star Wars and in Marvel.
