Ok, I've never studied fashion & styling like you. I'm early 50s, I always buy Talbots, Ann Taylor, & Ralph Lauren. When I have extra $ I splurge on Calvin Klein. Simple lines, classic styles, mid-priced. But now I crave color. I love how I'm seeing Teal, Royal Blue & Fuchsia everywhere. I've purchased a few tops (sweaters & blouses) in jewel tones and I look healthier & better in those bright tops. I have noticed jewel tones are more flattering on you too. You look great in burgundy, hunter green and now in royal blue. I don't know if it's skin tone or hair color or my age but I'm really enjoying bright jewel tones near my face and black, navy, grey & denim for trousers & skirts. I'd love to see a video about jewel tones mixed with neutrals and why we find them so attractive and popular with women over thirty. I guess I'm lobbying for that in your upcoming work. 😊

Audrey, this video is spot on, just this morning I was looking at a few of my Ralph Lauren vintage tweed blazers. I need to take some time and shop my closet and create a couple of outfits using my neutrals and those vintage tweed pieces, maybe high lighted with some antique brass pins as accent pieces, as always❤️👏❤️.

This was so helpful, I'm most definitely a neutrals lady and probably slightly "nervous" about bright colours. I normally introduce colours via scarves, as it feels safer for me! I do love seeing colours on others however, especially when that particular colour really suits the person. I should be more adventurous, I think!
It's a good method. I also use scarves, mainly because I'm petite and sometimes there isn't much variety of coloured items available to fit me, especially on a budget and thrifting where possible. Hope that sentence made sense, I'm tired!

Love the Sezanne look but their sizing stops short of what I fit. Your tips, hoever, are always good. I do not get how people live by having only full outfits and never mixing them. Mind boggling to me.

Great video! I was wondering if you could give some advice about cropped jackets. I loved the checkered jacket you were wearing in this video. I recently bought a beige cropped jacket, but I am not sure how to wear it. I am also a petite lady.

I’m adding a vibrant pink and royal/electric blue to my wardrobe. Wine and a dark purple and so hard for me to fine.
Color blocking requires 2 or 3 bold colors, not neutrals and not differing tones or shades of each other..
The outfit with the skirt and boots make your legs look 6 feet tall. You look amazing.

My key thing to keep in mind when I wear classic neutrals is to wear accessories.
I mean belts, scarfs, watches, jewelry, hair accessories, in my case also eyeglasses.
They are small details, but they matter a lot. Even a pair of earrings can uplift the look and the mood instantly.
And I agree that basic neutrals wardrobe colors will be different for everyone. My basic neutral wardrobe colors, for example, are cream, greige, caramel and dark grey - all that’s on softer and warmer side.

Interesting video! I liked very much the white outfit: fresh, wintry, vibrant, elegant, bold... so versatile.
Sadly Sezane does not make petites. I’ve had to return so many items from them because they are just huge. Even if I have ordered the smallest size. Very annoying 🤦♀️🤦♀️
I adore neutrals and find them much easier to ‘style’ than a closet full of various colors. Due to weight loss the last 16 months, I’ve had to completely overhaul my wardrobe and have gravitated toward black, white, cream, beige, and for summer, navy. Since I am retired, it’s a much smaller collection but it has been fun finding pieces that are purchased with real intention rather than random colors and items that need something else to make them work. Even a vintage bag or shoe or belt looks more modern and youthful this way. Terrific video Audrey!
Audrey, I would love a video where you take outfits you used to regularly wear and explain little alterations and changes you've made to them. A lot of times I see photos of myself wearing outfits a few year ago, and I think "wow, I still wear that outfit! But I swapped the mini skirt of a midi" or "swapped the ankle boots for loafers"
I've been trying to find my best neutrals so I appreciate these videos. Love how you include emotion!

You didn't adjust the pants, it makes me think that you don't want to keep them. Doesn't really detract from the video, but after watching your previous content, where you emphasize that you always get the clothes tailored, it sticks out.
I prefer her in tailored pants and thought these huge cuffs took away from the look.

Neutrals can be worn as bottoms - pants, skirts.
I hate the black and white combo. It is so dead and lifeless. I tried black and white earlier today and it doesn't work for me. I have to bring color into the white or bring color into the black to liven the outfit. It is not the 1860's, there are amazing colors out there, use them. You are not a cold, dead office building made of glass.
