I will drive nothing else than a Volvo as safety is the most important thing and the ethos of Volvo is based around maximum safety for the people inside their cars. Not only are their cars the safest, they are also in my view the most comfortable and well designed inside. All the car reviews one sees online just focus on speed, cornering etc, top speed etc., and never mention safety, which is a really puzzling thing. Some of the US brands (incl. Tesla) are trying hard to boast safety - particularly in view of the self-driving trend - but the US cars are completely hopeless and don't even come close to Volvo on safety. Volvo puts safety above achieving maximum profits, while other brands merely create the illusion of safety.
I can attest the comfort and quality of the interior. Was sitting in a Volvo limousine after sitting in the highest end Mercedes they had at this car show and I liked the Volvo a lot more

I have a 2017 XC90 T8 Plug In Hybrid Inscription Pro purchased with £40,000 off list price being 4 years old. When I test drove a VW Taureg and went to BMW sytner showroom for the X7 and said " Do you use Boron Steel like Volvo? It's 5 times stronger than normal steel in cars", the sales men at BMW and VW panicked and avoided the question. Without knowing it they also answered the question. I bought the Volvo XC90. Not a driver goes by in a X5 or X7 or Taureg they stop to look at the XC90 and the look on their faces says everything "I wish I had that". Volvo deserve every penny of our income for putting safety 1st.
I've just bought an old Volvo V50 - it was an emergency solution as I needed a car for my work and didn't have much money at the moment - and I really like it. Nice to drive, 12 years old but still looks good, it works properly and doesn't make any problems. My only issue: it's too small. I'm about to buy an XC90 next year.
Incredible. No other car manufacturer does anything like this. Just the minimum it takes to get a good rating in the government and third party crash tests
I have an XC60 Ultimate 2023. I have owned Porsche BMW and Mercedes cars. This Volvo has build quality that is second to none. It may have been built in China but the quality control is excellent.
I've had performance cars, budget brands, different sizes, etc. Bottom line is, the one thing you should really buy a car for is the one thing you hope you never have to test. Will it keep you safe. Not quick (but quick enough) but doing on call work and driving through the night, etc, that thing has kept me out of trouble and almost certainly stopped me from having a few bad smashes.
Many repairers have said volvo metals are a lot harder and take a lot longer to repair. I got hit on passenger side in my 2010 xc60 by an mitsubishi suv outlander doing about 70 kmh. Volvo did a open patent for the seatbelt so every manufacturer could use it for free in their cars. Seatbelt has saved over 1 milion lifes according to a Uk study.
Even before seeing this my decision is made to get a Volvo as my next car. Still recovering from being T-boned while doing 30mph in a Vorsprung edition Audi, 6mnths old and now it's been declared a write off. I've been driving Volvo for 35 years and always feel safe. Unfortunately the quality of Volvo's during the Ford period was pretty bad, leaking windscreens for one.
Volvo was always equal to a tank. I am 56 and I remember in my teens all those older models built like a tank. I love the XC90, but I am worried buying one due to issues with electronics and with the touch screen. Not sure if it was ever addressed. Its a shame that they are so expensive. I am not surprised. Volvo these days have a big challenge, competing with the Chinese automakers.
Their largest challenge is with the US car company Tesla. It is the company that has thoroughly dethroned them as “safest Car” with their entire line up.
Maybe a bit conservative in construction, little boring in design and not "fancy" but always solid, reliable, comfortable and concentrated on safety, comfort and precission. Volvo puts on the 1st line only life tested values. I love Volvo for their philosophy of crafting super everyday cars. The day I got my 1st new Volvo was one of my best days in my life. I was driving many cars but Volvo is supersolid.
I love the safety of the XC90 over my XC40, however, when i was in the XC90, it was just too big of a vehicle for me to feel confident to safely navigate.... As it is, i don't really feel "in my own skin" with the XC40, but, in recent years, seems that is all the dealerships are really stocking now. I used to love my 2004 S80, however, after a T-Bone crash on the driver's side (thanks to an a-hole who flew over my green light) made me question my entire faith in Volvo as a safe car.... Yes, i lived, however, i'm dealing with a lot of serious fallout now and am going to physical therapy at least two [2] times a week.
Love my volvo v40 I have bought a very solid car and feel happy driving my family around in the car. Only the other day I had the brakes come on because I had a car overtake then realised he was in wrong lane to cut back in volvo I thank you

Any possibility Volvo can work on bolstering the safety in the event of the side-impact crash on the driver's side? I was unfortunately on the receiving end of that (of a maniac that completely disregarded the rules of the road), and, although i walked away, i am still dealing with some significant fallout over six [6] months later. What also immensely concerns me now, in addition to having to put up with the Hummers on the road, we will soon have Tesla's Cybertruck which looks like it belongs on the battlefield. Perhaps Volvo can look into creating their vehicles with an even stronger safety cage to compensate for whatever impact that monstrosity will have. I wonder if Congress will seek to issue legislation limiting the "Cybertruck" as an impact with that thing (from what i've seen in preliminary crash data) looks ghastly to say the least....

Depends on the collision, if it happens at all. Assuming all cars were self-driving (like literally 80% - 95%) and they all somehow communicated with each other, then there likely wouldn't even be any more accidents.
Why can’t other car makers do this? What is it that Volvo has that option to make safe cars that others done? And still have cheap affordable cars with luxury features
HOW COME THERE IS NO AIRBAG BETWEEN DRIVER TO PASSENGER? NOT AT THE XC40,60,90! THE NX DOES HAVE IT. CAN SOMEONE EXPLAIN WHAY VOLVO DIDN'T ADD ANOTHER AIRBAG??
To absorb the crash energy, the cabin should not be too stiffy. If the cabin is too stiffy, then the energy of the impact comes to the passengers. It only needs the minimum stiffness of keeping the safety shell of passengers. Imagine if you are in a rubber ball or a stiffy steel ball. Which situation do you think you are safe in? I think the cabin of Volvo cars are too stiffy. The bonnet of the car which was designed to absorb the impact even looks too stiffy.

@@simtu251 volvo are great always
Volvo was always equal to a tank. I am 56 and I remember in my teens all those older models built like a tank. I love the XC90, but I am worried buying one due to issues with electronics and with the touch screen. Not sure if it was ever addressed. Its a shame that they are so expensive. I am not surprised. Volvo these days have a big challenge, competing with the Chinese automakers.
Their largest challenge is with the US car company Tesla. It is the company that has thoroughly dethroned them as “safest Car” with their entire line up.
@el060248 I saw an article about the center console screen having sensitivity issues and the 90 model is rated low in reliability.
The old Volvo 240 & 850 yes. New Volvos are essentially Geely cars that uses a different skin, just like Kia on Hyundai DNA
Volvo is Chinese.
Thats true, XC90 are safe but the engine is very bad, At the yearly technical inspection, we need to check the turbo for mechanical clearance.
The best safety car that is why Volvo for life.
I crashed a 240 and a 262C. Both saved my life!
been driving XC90 from
Old to the new for year's best car all round it's a beast 👌
Only the other day I had the brakes come on because I had a car overtake then realised he was in wrong lane to cut back in volvo I thank you
Excelente compañia, quien invierte en seguridad para sus usuarios felicitaciones
This is why I’m on my seventh Volvo. 👍
I'm on my tenth and have never had to test the safety features.
@@Bruce-1956 I'm on number 4 and have had to test them 3 times! Stupid drivers! Lol
Such a great video, thanks a lot
I currently have two volvos an xc90 and a xc60. I live in wisconsin where people just drive stupid in winter. Its a great peice of mind.
Volvo for family car! powerful and safe
Volvos have been pioneers in safety and will always be safe cars
Safest car in the world for me, VOLVO.
Volvo should also make the roof more crash safety than the front and rear collisions too!
Thanks volvo for your effort towards safety.. Hopefully one day i will afford to buy one.. Volvo here are crazy expensive
Amazing
Bravo Volvo 💪👍👍👍
Very happy with my 2021 XC60!!!!
This is in Sweden right? Their English is superb!
Ya!..
yes, its swenglish but we manage
It's better than English English.
That black v60 looks nice
Love Volvo 🇸🇪❤️🇸🇪❤️🇸🇪
I've worked for Volvo Cars. Let me tell you this; they mean what they say.
I started with a740 saloon then a 240..I now have an s40 r-design...terrific cars.

The doors are a 300mm thick I don’t know any cars with doors that thick
Such a good car. Have a similar age S60...so well built..

Volvo is still the safest car in the world, I also have a Volvo myself and it drives me crazy when I see a scratch on my car but see this 😱😱 too bad all those beautiful cars
As an owner of a c30, c70, s60 and 2 xc90s I can confidently say I am volvo for life. Even the smaller cars felt heavy and sturdy. The door on the c70 felt like it weighed as much as a civic.
I love my Volvo!!
I've never had anyone from the 'Volvo Cars Traffic Accident Research Team' show up at any of my 3 crashes! Lol
Do you live in Sweden? They mentioned that that's where the team is based.
@@RCPower11 No, but with my 3 crashes you think they would have heard of me and shown up! Lol
The Force, ahheem imean *SWENGLISH* is strong with these ones !!! (considered im a Swede myself) 👍
Volvo is owned by Geely of China
Cringe
I was contemplating buying a BMW Mercedes Audi or a Volvo this video has helped me steer to Volvo I will be going to my dealership to test drive an XC 60
get v90cc instead
Superbly safe Chinese car 👍🏻
Chinese, US and Swedish effort tbh

Masters of safety
How safe is a 2008 xc70?
Volvos are just basically tanks at this point
the best work in the world
Any possibility Volvo can work on bolstering the safety in the event of the side-impact crash on the driver's side?
It would be consistent to sell all cars with maximum safety tools
My late husband would crash a car every two weeks. He had no insurance. He would drive like he stole it. Most WERE stolen because he had no license.
But oh! what a lover!
I've got V40 from 2014. But I can't look at destroying these beautiful cars. It feels like some kind of waste these cars.
damn do they have to use the ones with the B&W sound system? Shesh if they don't want it I will gladly take it. Joking aside, I do wonder why they are using the Ultimate versions, instead of just the base models.
Volvo, one of the brands known for safety.
Welded in roll frame for monster trucks?
great video .... how about facing an horse and going 110kms/hr on a highway ? will the volvo protect from crashing into the horse at a dark night???
I can’t imagine how much this has to cost to maintain (and all the wasted cars!)
But it's necessary
I recalled an XC90 from 2007 (company car) that had its turbocharger replaced. Costs like AUD4k. Crazy prices
Not to worry. Most of that damage you see will buff right out! Lol
RIP Volvo Cars ! 03:40
支持volvo安全才是重要,操控,妥善率,比不上雙B,每人觀點不同,我開XC90覺得很好開呀!
because it will break down before any crash

@@Kabilash-wb8by There are incentives for buying hybrid or fully electric cars. You also save alot in fuel costs and maintenance. Don't need to be rich to own a good car :)

Спасибо за систему автоторможения, она отлично работает и в городе просто необходима! И за железобетонную жопу хс60 тоже спасибо 🎉
It's owned by Chinese state now, the Swedish should buy back this before all the technology being transferred to China.
Volvo share their safety technology FOC to other manufacturers.
They literally publish all their safety information and tests so any manufacturer can use them to make their cars better. The fact that other manufacturers aren't on par with them in terms of safety just goes to show that other manufacturers just care about making profits and selling the most cars they can.
My new S60 is awesome.
VOLVO 👍👍👍👍💪💪💪
I have two Volvo cars and like both of them, One is a Volvo v50 the other a Volvo xc40, It would be interesting to see how the Volvo v50 performs in these crash tests bearing in mind it is a ford focus disguised as a Volvo ??
volvo always the best ❤
Well, my next car will definitely be a volvo
They was safe - comparing to other cars. Now in top 10 most safe cars.. there is no even one Volvo model.
If all cars were self-driving, would it be safer if all the seats are rearward facing too, and possibly no airbags required?
Yes
Depends on the collision, if it happens at all. Assuming all cars were self-driving (like literally 80% - 95%) and they all somehow communicated with each other, then there likely wouldn't even be any more accidents.
Why can’t other car makers do this? What is it that Volvo has that option to make safe cars that others done? And still have cheap affordable cars with luxury features
this is why we have 6 volvos in the family
HOW COME THERE IS NO AIRBAG BETWEEN DRIVER TO PASSENGER? NOT AT THE XC40,60,90!
THE NX DOES HAVE IT. CAN SOMEONE EXPLAIN WHAY VOLVO DIDN'T ADD ANOTHER AIRBAG??
If they are so concerned with safety, how do they allow some door locks on the V40 to randomly lock the occupants INSIDE the car?
To absorb the crash energy, the cabin should not be too stiffy. If the cabin is too stiffy, then the energy of the impact comes to the passengers. It only needs the minimum stiffness of keeping the safety shell of passengers. Imagine if you are in a rubber ball or a stiffy steel ball. Which situation do you think you are safe in? I think the cabin of Volvo cars are too stiffy. The bonnet of the car which was designed to absorb the impact even looks too stiffy.
Am I the only one hearing the music from the "Twilight" playing in the background?

It is important!! But, Volvo, you can't always just focus on safety. Performance, reliability are also important to improve!!!!!!!!!
Now imagine the price
With safety comes weight.. And weight automatically puts you out of the performance 'competition' with other brands so why would they focus on performance. And i don't know what you drive or have driven but a volvo with awd is pretty darn fast
@@brayvdb2191 does Volvo have better performance than German brands? Does it have better reliability than Japanese brands? If you think yes, I got nothing to say. If you think Volvo has reached it's summit in the market. Then don't bother to compete with others!!
@@daw7563 the current Volvo can't compare to the previous ones. The quality needs to be improved to against other brands. IF the company wants to moving forward in the market. The competitors will not be easy to compete.
@@daw7563 the market resources ...
Take a look at the sales of Japanese brands.... Who don't trust the reliability of it? How could V come and compete with them if they only focus on safety?
