You might want to look into them more- the similarities keep growing. Nearly identical height and weight, both of which are justifiable for the slight differences.
I absolutely LOVE the theory that Ash's Pikachu is from Sinnoh. Oak is tied into Sinnoh quite a bit, and it somewhat makes sense that he might bring home a pokemon from the region. My next favourite would have to be the manaphy/phione being just regional variants of each other. I never put much thought in to it, but honestly, it sounds fairly solid to me.
I really like the connection between lucario and infinity energy. Having some pokemons, even from older gens, be plot/lore relevant in stuff from more recent gens makes the world feel so much more alive
My thoughts on each: 1. Aura being Infinity Energy makes A LOT of sense. I assume it also has something to do with ghosts. 2. This is a pretty neat theory. Fossil pokemon are clearly supposed to be similar to non fossils. 3. I'm going with Kalos 4. Cynthia's sister is a solid theory. 5. Bertha is clearly supposed to be similar to Agatha. Mostly because that was an E4 trope. That said I don't think this theory works. 6. Drasna being from Celestic town works especially since she's clearly Asian. 7. Manaphy being exclusive to really cold waters makes a lot of sense. That'd be cool to canonize 8. Yup. Pretty likely. 9. I think it's pretty likely that they are at least connected in the sense that the devs made them similar on purpose. 10. Pichu being a transfer makes sense. But honestly there's just not enough evidence for it.
This is a bit goofy but hear me out cause the image made me chuckle! The “Hollow Earth” / connected underground theory is possible in my mind because of diglett and dugtrio! They started from the big open caves beneath Sinnoh and made the very impressive but small corridors of the Sinnoh Underground. Eventually they expanded all the way to Galar where they were effected by Dynamax energy which is why the Max Raid Lair is so large! Because the diglett and dugtrio dynamaxed while they were digging! In my mind I see a tunnel gradually getting bigger while a tiny little diglett grew to be fully dynamaxed! Not really likely but a fun image all the same!
I honestly can't believe we're so close to bdsp release date. Pokémon diamond was my first pokémon game and I've playing every main series game ever since. Seeing all the sinnoh related content really warms my heart and makes me feel kinda nostalgic in a way.
I find the Manaphy and Phione mechanic is interesting. That makes it one of my favourite mythicals! The theory you provided as to how to breed them is interesting! The science nerd in me wishes the franchise would share a canon explanation...
I always thought it was because it was a fake, fione cuz it's the only mythical pokemon that you can breed. So Phione is a fake mythical, but that was just me
It been a rough past couple of days mentally to the point that I broke but waiting on the Pokemon remakes and just listening to music (especially music) has pulled me through. So dam excited for these games
Great video, i completely forgot that Byron’s father was the one who dug out the underground, it’d be wild for those tunnels to somehow connect all the way to Galar. And the final one with pikachu makes so much sense, it always felt kinda weird that there would be a single lone pichu in a forest.
Mini theories are always fun to hear about. Interesting idea about Phione being somewhat of a regional variant of Manaphy. Maybe if there was a daycare in a colder area, like snowpoint city, Manaphy could be bred into more Manaphy.
I absolutely love fossil pokemon. I'm taking evolutionary biology as a class in college, and am learning a whole bunch of stuff that also kinda reveals stuff about Pokemon! Like, did you know that the chambered nautilus is actually a mollusk? And that its "tentacles" are actually the same thing as a snail oot, but it evolved to become elongated in several regions? That means that Omanyte is actually more related to Gastrodon than Octillery!! Very cool stuff.
Family resemblances can be pretty strong so I can see that kid being related to Gary. (In my grandfather's/great grandfather's side of the family, all the men look really similar. Like, I've got cousins several times removed and you look at them and you're like, yup, looks like Pappaw.) My hangup is that Bertha seems a little old to be Gary's mom. Especially when put next to Ash's mom, Delia looks like she's low-mid 30's. Bertha's more late 40's/early 50's. She could be Gary's aunt, his mum's older sister.
She could also have gotten Gary late in life. My mother was in her mid 30s when she got me while she'd just turned 20 when she got my brother. People don't get children at a specific age. Besides, some people just look younger/older compared to their peers
You're not wrong, but considering Ash and Gary are supposed to be perpetual 10-11 year olds, even if Bertha was in her 30's when she had Gary, she'd still only be 40-something, and she strikes me as more 50+. Especially with a full head of gray hair. Still it's possible, but I do think older aunt is more likely.
That underground and crown tundra link, I might have an idea though it's kind of underdeveloped and I'd love to see what you could do with it. It would definitely make sense for the underground to be connected to the crown tundra and the raid dens in some way, I thought that maybe the presence of living fossil pokemon in the crown tundra might be because they managed to survive some sort of massive event that wiped out a majority of them. Maybe some massive worldwide event occured, similar to the theory on what wiped out the dinosaurs, but some fossil pokemon managed to escape and find shelter in caves or such that link to the underground network of tunnels. The pokemon hideaways sort of imply to me that the tunnels are natural to some extent since pokemon live there. Maybe the fossil pokemon that hid down there may have been trapped or unable to survive underground so they died as well leaving behind the fossils we find in the modern day underground, but perhaps a few managed to travel through tunnels and find an out into the galarian system of tunnels. Maybe drawn there by max energy? And perhaps the crown tundra being the only habitable place for those fossil pokemon to escape too may be because even in this apocalyptic event, calyrex could still provide food and safety for them? What I do know is that the presence of fossil pokemon in galar is definitely not thanks to the amazing skill of Cara Liss the fossil researcher XD
I really hope that they explore this underground lore more. It was always a fun thing to explore and play with but youve pointed out so many connections that it would be such a missed opportunity to not build on the lore
as a fellow neurodivergent, I absolutely love seeing how your mind works. our thoughts are always ping-ponging off so many things that we make connections no one else notices and it's just fantastic. like Aron and Sheildon. my focus is usually on fairy, psychic, and water types, so I never really think about those two. but the moment you put them on the screen next to each other, I know *exactly* where you were going with that and I can't believe I hadn't realized it because it feels so obvious just by looking at them. I can't wait to see more of your thoughts once legends is out and we can really dive into the new lore!
Personally I feel that Kalos is the better fit, as yes, I know this isn’t in the games per say, but in the anime, Kalos has Pokémon showcases, which share a fair few similarities with Pokémon Contests...and after all, we know Fantina is a contest mega star as well as a gym leader, through both in game lore and with her being an opponent in the Master Rank contests
but what if she's from a region based off canada, it would explain how she speaks both french and english, since those are the main 2 languages spoke in Canada, + her celebrity would make more sense if she was from America being where most Mega Stars and Actors go to make their careers
@@ttgconcepts i agrees she might be from the unouva region since the usa has Hollywood, and she can be a mega star and since there is a lot of language are spoken here.
adding onto your Underground theory: ever notice how so many evolutions caused by learning Ancient Power were added in gen 4? Mamoswine, Yanmega, and Tangrowth. These evolutions remind me of Kleavor and Wyrdeer, where they're new regional evolutions that don't come from regional variants. Ancient power evolutions being similar to some ancient evolutions of certain pokemon added in LEGENDS ARCEUS, A SINNOH GAME? Maybe this ties back to Arceus, the underground, the fossils, and everything else.
I have a theory. What if the Underground Man who dug the Underground tunnels in the Sinnoh region, wanted to find the Dynamax Pokemon of Galar? Like what if one day he heard about the phenomenon of Dynamax Pokemon in another region and how they resided underground but didn't know how to get to them. So he decided to dig tunnels underneath Sinnoh in the hopes of finding these gigantic Pokemon. The reason why you find so many shards and fossils is because the Underground Man was never able to find the Galar Region or Dynamax Pokemon.
@@RealAaron317 Yeah but he may have heard of dynamax more recently. The Underground Man is an existing NPC in the games who's probably in his 70's or 80's and most likely heard of the phenomenon at least 20 or 30 years prior to the time frame of the game which sort of lines up with the events of Galar and the introduction of Dynamax to the Pokemon league there. That's if you wanna take it with a grain of salt or whatever.
I really like the Pokémon breeding theory behind Manaphy both sound good to me but the water temperature hits home and the relationship between Oak, Agatha and Bertha. Awesome video man
Oh, I loved how you concluded with Pikachu's Pokeball having a Spark Seal from the Sinnoh region. I had a delightful laugh with that one. I like how clever it sounds. x3
Really like the idea about Manaphy and Phione. The temperature difference being part of the reason makes a lot of sense. Love the 'Hollow Earth' theory too.
My theory for Fantina is that she's from Unova. Or at the very least, she probably spent a lot of time there. First of all, Unova is a multicultural place when you can encounter people of all around the world. (So it makes sense for all versions of the game that she would be from around here) Secondly, Fantina is found in Hearthome City, where you can also do Super Contest. And what do you find in Unova? The Musical Hall! Which is basically the first part of the Super Contest. And we also now that Cynthia spend a lot of time in Unova, so they may have meet there. I'll admit this part is more reaching. There may be more to confirm or deny this theory honestly. Hopefully we'll learn more soon.
This was an awesome video. I freaking love the stuff about lucario he is one of my absolute favorite Pokémon. Also i love that it connects to the energy with the giant flower stuff. I forget what Gen that was but man I had so many questions and ideas for that Gen. It was such theory fodder and I still have tons of questions for it. I wana go back and play it now
I could believe Ash’s Pikachu wasn’t from the Kanto region. Was always odd for me that Pikachu didn’t see any of it’s kind and go “Oh it’s you!” To them, or Vice virca.
Bertha looks more like Agatha's sister. Maybe her younger sister? I can't see her as a daughter, but I do believe they are related! Great video! And plenty of food for thought! I'm super excited for Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl and Legends Arceus! :D
so excited for these games!!! and i absolutely love the idea that Aron comes from Shieldon, it makes complete sense and its simply just really really cool
I can actually get behind the whole Aura thing being the driving force behind Mega Evolution. As far as the pokémon world lore is concerned, Aura is Life Energy. And if the whole thing about Mega Stones being irradiated stones from the earth that was in fact irradiated by the energy fired from the Ultimate Weapon is to be true, then it ties together cohesively well imho. Mind you, that it was energy taken from the Lifebending Legends Xerneas and Yveltal which powered up the ancient superweapon. That's what makes that theory so compelling. A lot of pretty good theories here Toby and it's great to see you possibly refining and touching them up to any possible new developments that come up as more games and generations of Pokémon come and go. Excellent as always.
Despite what some people might say about these games I'm really excited for them and can't wait to playthrough a remake of one of Pokemon games I enjoyed playing the most growing up.
@@RodrigoSilva-ds9el try adrive. Just posted some new leaks. Personally, I’m not buying this remake. I’ll just wait until PLA comes out. It’s just a few months anyway.
For theory 9: maybe the reason there is so much stuff underground all over the pokemon world, not just in 1 place, is because there was a world wide flood. That could also explain any and all underwater caves found in places like Hoenn.
Hey man, I just wanted to let you know truly how much I appreciate your videos taking a deep dive into Pokémon lure. The expansiveness of your mind truly shows in your videos and the sheer passion behind them I truly admire, Pokémon fan aside that aspect alone is so important and I feel blessed to be able to experience it. P.S. If you end up reading this, please leave me out of the Pokémon Legend Arceus giveaway, I have already preordered the game and I hope those copies end up going to anyone that will truly appreciate their experience playing it 🙏
Fantina's situation is... complicated XD Lucario's Aura and Infinity Energy makes so much sense now that I think about it I always thought Bertha and Agatha were sisters so I never thought they could be mother and daughter instead
I’ve always thought of aura as the result of inner focus from inner training. It seems to be a type of energy which travels through waves, so for sure, it seems very likely that it is derived from Infinity Energy. Maybe it is the blue from the multi-colored infinity energy.
One thing I hope is that mega's, dynamax forms and regional varients/timelocked varients do return in some form because their designs are just so sick.
Great video! While I was watching the part about Ash’s Pikachu came to mind. I think the Journey’s episode gives some insight into why Pikachu hates going into his pokeball. There are two explanations: 1. The first explanation is an extension of your theory. The last time Ash’s Pikachu went into a pokeball before Oak kept him in storage up until Ash’s 10th birthday could have been when Oak brought him over from Sinnoh. The trauma of having his entire world changed without any control over it stayed with him and it could be why he was so upset when Ash first brought him out. This trauma is so deep rooted that he won’t even let Ash put him in a pokeball despite the time they’ve spent together. 2. The other explanation could be that Oak was upset with Pikachu after he ran off for a few days and Oak kept him in the pokeball up until Ash’a 10th birthday which would be literal years and THAT’S why he was so upset and refuses to be kept in a ball for even a fraction of a moment.
Def makes a lot of sense on Pikachu being from sinnoh originally. Good catch on the ball seals! I always wondered about the ball seals on the pokeballs that oak has. When I was a kid i always thought they were special balls, but after rewatching the first season I was like... wait a minute!😅
I really like all these theories, especially the ones about connections between different pokemon, I'd love to see some Pokemon with like convergent evolution but the Pokemon version like 2 different pokemon evolving into the same evolution, something with both Nidoran, that'd be interesting... And maybe a common pre evo to Tauros and Miltank, maybe a
Personally I liked it more back when Lucario had more of a legendary feel to it, kinda like with Zorua. It made the mythical "aura" aspect of it seem rare, but they just had to makes them wildly available in the games
I like the whole pichu is from sinnoh theory I think it’s super interesting and makes a lot of sense! Would have never thought pikachu’s lighting bolt on his pokeball could be a seal. I am super excited too next week can’t come soon enough!
I got something else that could support the SInnoh Ash's Pikachu theory. Do you know the first time that we as players could get the pokemon (Ash's pikachu) in our own game? Yup, from a distrubution event at the now defunct Toys R Us to go to You guessed it, Diamond and Peal.
I love the Shieldon and Aron theory they are some of my favourite pokemon and I've never noticed the similarities but now I can't see it. I also really like the real world explanation for Manaphy and Phione as it would make sense why you can't possibly breed Manaphy. I love your theory videos and I'm really looking forward to what you do for the run up to BDSP keep up the great work ^_^
I just wanted to say for at least 3 years I've been watching your videos! Each one til the very end! I'm not the type to leave comments partly because I don't know if huge UA-camrs like yourself even read them and partially because I just don't have much to say. I do want to say I love your content, I love your channel and I can't wait for BDSP and Legends: Arceus and I hope that Arceus is just a beginning of a new series of Pokemon games l. Have a good day and keep doing what you do
I really love the theories you cover and come up with! I love the pikachu/pichu being from Sinnoh theory. I never felt like pikachu fit in with the other pikachu in Kanto
I love the theory behind Cynthia/ Cynthia’s sister and verity. To be honest I love all lure and theories, it makes these games seem more real, more alive and immerses us more into Pokémon. I am so excited for BDSP, I hope my preorder pulls through.
It’s funny you mention the references to gen 4 in gen 7, there was an entire TCG set at the time that was Sinnoh themed as well, the speculation was running rampant.
What if DP remakes were almost planned in Gen 7? I mean... Sun and Moon revolves around space and even time. Alchemy also involves in the games, as we all know Diamond and Pearl also have this element in the legendaries. I don't know, I may be overthinking.
Maybe one day, they'll make a region based on Canada and have Fantina come from there. It would make sense regardless of if she speaks English or French.
Turns out Fantina lived in the middle of the Galar-Kalos channel. Just floating on top of the ocean. On a more serious note, really like the manaphy-phione theory! Especially because it reminds of how the sex of some reptiles, such as turtles, is decided by the temperature they're exposed to as eggs
I always thought that the aura trio and the aura pokemon were specifically separate phenomenon, given that in Japanese, the aura trio is literally "aura trio", while the aura pokemon is "wave pokemon". But this explanation makes it much more clear that these are all supposed to be at their root meant to be infinity energy. That is very interesting!
When Toby reached out to the camera at the beginning, yt decided to give me a snickers add and the candy bar appeared just where his hand was and it was just so well coordinated 😂
I absolutely like the theory of Ash's Pikachu, it makes sense. And it makes me believe the fact that Pikachu's Pokeball has a spark seal on it just like from the sinnoh region thing/feature for pokeballs. Very Clever! nice one!😁💗
I never saw the connection between Aron and Sheildon. But when you showed them side by side I totally got the theory.
Yh same
I can see that

#9 is my favorite. I’m always super intrigued when the hollow earth theory is thrown around, and would love to see it fleshed out some more.
lol got the discord ping right after clicking on the video! I can't wait for BDSP!
Bertha looks more like Agatha's sister. Maybe her younger sister? I can't see her as a daughter, but I do believe they are related! Great video! And plenty of food for thought! I'm super excited for Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl and Legends Arceus! :D
Your team video convinced me to use mime jr, munchlax, and bastiodon on my team
so excited for these games!!! and i absolutely love the idea that Aron comes from Shieldon, it makes complete sense and its simply just really really cool
I am VERY Excited for next week! Are you?
Ye very pog.
Despite what some people might say about these games I'm really excited for them and can't wait to playthrough a remake of one of Pokemon games I enjoyed playing the most growing up.
there is no way in the distortion world i'm not
Sadly not, I don't like almost anything about these games. Hopefully something gets revealed that might change my mind
And it could also be linked to the underground ruins in Unova.
P.S. If you end up reading this, please leave me out of the Pokémon Legend Arceus giveaway, I have already preordered the game and I hope those copies end up going to anyone that will truly appreciate their experience playing it 🙏
Fantina's situation is... complicated XD
Lucario's Aura and Infinity Energy makes so much sense now that I think about it
I always thought Bertha and Agatha were sisters so I never thought they could be mother and daughter instead
Man this is so exciting. Commenting for an entry lol i have nothing to add on these theories.
I’ve always thought of aura as the result of inner focus from inner training. It seems to be a type of energy which travels through waves, so for sure, it seems very likely that it is derived from Infinity Energy. Maybe it is the blue from the multi-colored infinity energy.
That callout of Fantina's accent caught me off guard. I now want that to be canon.
I love the thought that Ash’s Pikachu is originally from Sinnoh, my favourite region! Also the background music in your videos are so beautiful ☺️🎶
The pichu theory makes so much sense, and i think it makes sense from a lore prespective also.
One thing I hope is that mega's, dynamax forms and regional varients/timelocked varients do return in some form because their designs are just so sick.
Sadly, leaked footage and datamines for BDSP say that none of those made it in. I was really hoping that we’d at least get regional variants.
@@darkmoon2503 I know none of that'll be in BDSP (sadly) but I just dont want them to be a forgotten thing in pokemon's history.
Great video! While I was watching the part about Ash’s Pikachu came to mind. I think the Journey’s episode gives some insight into why Pikachu hates going into his pokeball. There are two explanations:
Been busy with work but manage to get the game and got good videos to catch up on while playing
It's been awhile since the the Sinnoh season but like the Birtha, Oak, Gary connection. It does seem like their some family ties there
Def makes a lot of sense on Pikachu being from sinnoh originally.
Good catch on the ball seals! I always wondered about the ball seals on the pokeballs that oak has. When I was a kid i always thought they were special balls, but after rewatching the first season I was like... wait a minute!😅
As always great theories! I think there’s a lot there with the Bertha theory. Especially because oak has a house in sinnoh
Oh man the seals! I wonder how much of this was planned out and how much was just beautiful coincidence.
I got something else that could support the SInnoh Ash's Pikachu theory. Do you know the first time that we as players could get the pokemon (Ash's pikachu) in our own game? Yup, from a distrubution event at the now defunct Toys R Us to go to You guessed it, Diamond and Peal.
Gen 5 music makes these videos so nice!
I love the Shieldon and Aron theory they are some of my favourite pokemon and I've never noticed the similarities but now I can't see it. I also really like the real world explanation for Manaphy and Phione as it would make sense why you can't possibly breed Manaphy.
I love your theory videos and I'm really looking forward to what you do for the run up to BDSP keep up the great work ^_^
Pikachu being from sinnoh is my favourite theory cause sinnoh is the best region
I can't wait for this game comes out been over 8 years since I played it
Well you might as well play the originals games got leaked basically nothing is different.
Ash now has a mega lucario and every time they mega evolve there's suspicious blue flames in the animation
Isn't that just Lucario's aura
I swear this is the best Pokémon theory channel in UA-cam!
Love your theories Toby, all of these were amazing. Think you saved the best for last
Never knew about the Sinnoh Pikachu theory until now, but your evidence has me totally convinced!
I love the theory behind Cynthia/ Cynthia’s sister and verity. To be honest I love all lure and theories, it makes these games seem more real, more alive and immerses us more into Pokémon. I am so excited for BDSP, I hope my preorder pulls through.
I am so hype for these games!! Pokemon Diamond was myfirst ever game, so can`t wait to see what happens to the remake
I’m am literally way over excited
I never thought about the idea that ash's Pikachu might be from Sinnoh. That's really well thought out!
My favorite is the Pikachu theory. Makes sense and it's simple.
Loved the Pikachu and the underground shards theories 🤯 they definitely caught me
This is interesting that these are the last games I actually got to play
It’s funny you mention the references to gen 4 in gen 7, there was an entire TCG set at the time that was Sinnoh themed as well, the speculation was running rampant.
i could have never actually thought that lucario and infinty energy might be even remotey connected nice theory toby ur my favorite youtuber (:
What if DP remakes were almost planned in Gen 7? I mean... Sun and Moon revolves around space and even time. Alchemy also involves in the games, as we all know Diamond and Pearl also have this element in the legendaries. I don't know, I may be overthinking.
I really like the pichu theory, it makes sense and the pokeball seal makes it perfect.
I'm so excited to see you're playthrough of the game.
I love the fact that the thumbnail looks like it's from 2012 where most of these theories come from
Maybe one day, they'll make a region based on Canada and have Fantina come from there.
I can get behind the aura=infinity energy theory.
The Aaron and Sheldon one is something I never thought about but I think it's brilliant.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
is that enough
Roadhouse
Ma boi always makes really good theories! I never thought of most of these
When Toby reached out to the camera at the beginning, yt decided to give me a snickers add and the candy bar appeared just where his hand was and it was just so well coordinated 😂
I absolutely like the theory of Ash's Pikachu, it makes sense. And it makes me believe the fact that Pikachu's Pokeball has a spark seal on it just like from the sinnoh region thing/feature for pokeballs. Very Clever! nice one!😁💗
The journey to the center of the earth theory is your most exciting one yet.
