I live in Florida now, but when I lived in Hamden , Sleeping Giant was the place to hike for me. I must have hiked all those colored trails thousands of times and even the red trails when I was much younger and my favorite trail was the blue trail. It’s a difficult trail to hike but I loved it just the same. Here’s some advice for you: Hike when the weather is cooler in the spring or fall. Never hike when it’s hot in the summertime. It’s much better. God bless✝️..
I just did this trail yesterday! Your videos are excellent, and I often use them as a reference for what to expect. Not sure I would’ve spotted that rattlesnake 😳 With so much rock on the trails I’m looking down much of the time and probably not looking around as much as I should be! Thanks again for another great video.
Turns out it was just an eastern black rat snake. Apparently they can shake their tails in piles of leaves fast enough to scare animals into thinking they’re rattlers. Even humans haha
Are you referring to the final segment that extends below the gravel trail? If so, you are correct. I missed that part when I recorded this but have been since, as I live minutes from the park.
Great views on this one!

That's funny. I left Connecticut for Arizona.
I miss Arizona, such a beautiful state
I couldn’t see the snake
I dunno they say the hardest is blue trail but I think the white is the hardest. What do you think?
💯 I totally agree. It’s a way rougher trail and steeper more often
This isn’t the full white trail hike
