- Disney kicked off their tenure with Power Rangers with one of the biggest crossover two-parters of the franchise. Thunder Storm combined both Ninja Storm and Dino Thunder, and created a whirlwind. Let's dive into it!!

Absolutely! It’s seriously one of the best morphing sequences in the entire series and I still go back and watch it every so often.
"Evil Power Rangers? How is that even possible?" "Tommy like, "Kira, shut your mouth.'" - FRIGGIN GOT ME. I had to stop the video cause I was laughing over the rest.
For real I loved the way Tommy looked over at Kira when she said evil power rangers how is that possible like he was thinking Kira we just fought Trent a couple days or weeks ago and I'm a ex evil power ranger myself so what are you even talking about 😂😂😂

Honestly the two cast blended so well. It felt like the two seasons got equal treatment. It extended off ninja storms ending while moving the dino thunder plot.
If power rangers kept going like this then people would consider it too be as good if not better then suoer sentai.
Neo saban era and beyond basically runined power rangers.
What I love about this crossover is how it does what Super Sentai does: Have the current Rangers fight the previous Rangers. Just about every Sentai crossover involves both teams end up fighting each other before uniting to take on the bad guys.

Wish we got a mystic force crossover with S.P.D. could’ve centered the plot around the rangers or the villains pulling out the S.P.D. rangers out off 2025

I think the reason that the rangers of ninja storm didn't assist the Dino rangers is because they were trying to keep their students safe after what happened with Lothar before. They figured another ranger team could handle it because too many people in a fight and some friendly fire is bound to happen.
This was my first Power Rangers team-up episode since Trakeena's Revenge in Lightspeed Rescue when that was airing in reruns on Family Channel (not to be confused with the channel that's now known as Freeform). Aside from this being the Ninja Storm/Dino Thunder team-up, I have a special place in my heart for this episode because I taped it off TV and invited a friend of mine, who was also a Power Rangers fan, over to watch the episode with me.
Connors and Shane’s stare down was actually pretty good. Really made me feel like they hated each other
I never understood why Power Rangers didnt try to used the excuse of America being huge as an explanation for why teams don't help eachother. Like it'd be really easy to say "Oh the Ninja accademy is in Chicago thats why they cant help us in California"

No there was a good excuse the ninja rangers lost their powers at the end of ninja storm so they couldn’t morph there powers were trapped in the samurai amulet they explained this I these two episodes

Dino thunder and ninja storm are in my top 10 power rangers season
And it's legendary crossover ever back in the day. Screw neo-saban super megaforce crossover although that was a bit cool too.
The one nitpick I had when I was younger with the team up battle was that I thought it should've been Trent with Hunter and Blake (former evil rangers) while Tommy with Cameron (initially behind the scenes operators).

it still makes sense because Trent & Cameron are both in the sixth ranger category. The thunder rangers & white Dino ranger would have been an insane trio tho.
It’s a solid crossover. My only issue, and it could have been a single line, is that Tommy once being a ninja ranger in his own right/the existence of Ninjor being unrelated to Earth’s ninjas is kinda weird.
Fun fact: Lothor’s bodyguards at 4:09 are two villains from the Sentai that dino thunder is based on. Now, my best guess as to why the writers chose not to bring them over for dino thunder is probably because they looked a little too ridiculous to take seriously, so they decided to make Mesagog instead. In fact, both Lothor and Megagog are some of my favorite original American exclusive villains in Power Rangers.
Speaking of sentai, in the original sentai version, abaranger vs hurricaneger, Kapri and Marah’s sentai counterparts stayed evil (and were also revealed to be not dead), so that’s why they didn’t do a whole lot in the American crossover. Not only that, but the shurinkenger (green) died at the end of hurricaneger, and abarekiller (white) was still an anti-hero by that point in the abaranger series. Plus, there were also two megazord fights.
So, kudos to Disney for being able to make everything original footage even though they had a whole episode of sentai footage they could have used.
I will also say this, if there is one thing that ninja storm did better than hurricanger, it was the villains, because I’m going to be honest, the villains in hurricanger are no better than their American counterparts. Now, he may be a love-him or hate-him villain, and while he didn’t do all that much in his respective series, Lothor still did more in both the first and last episodes of ninja storm than hurricanger’s main villain in his entire 50-episode run. And that is really saying something when Lothor doesn’t have the disadvantage of being literally stuck to a chair.
The one thing I'd have liked to see here is Kelly and Storm Chargers. Probably the set wasn't available anymore, but Kelly getting a cameo would've been cool.
Seriously, what was wrong with Disney? Why did Disney think power rangers wasn't gonna sell? Just imagine RPM on Disney XD?
That's the weird thing, it did consistently make money. Supposedly it was canceled due to complaints of violence, which is kinda weird since MCU and Star Wars are plenty more violent and aimed at a similar audience.
@@dexstewart862 I know Star Wars and MCU have violence too! I remember being four years old and seeing the finale of in space and going wow that was cool! Then seeing time force and thinking why is Eric so mean to Wes he never was rude to him he was always trying to be his friend in the flashback it seem like!

that's exactly why disney got rid of PR. Why else would they bother with Power Rangers when they got power house IPs like marvel and starwars.

Would it be emberassing to say that my first team up was once a ranger? And until then, i've only seen mystic force! Had zero idea about bridge,tori,kira, and even adam!
Once a ranger is a pretty good crossover but it definitely required to have knowledge of the other seasons to fully like it. Seeing Bridge like a Red Ranger and Adam back was awesome.

2:28 I have the same problem... Power Rangers is actually awesome in terms of continuity from series to another compared to most Tokus but even they have their problems with this sometimes
the unmorphed fight was so satisfying yet funny, since they all got to show their respective powers (each holding their own against their opponent) but i don’t know what the dino thunder rangers expected when they’re up against the ninja storm rangers who became teachers at the academy LMAOO
It has a better set up for why the two teams fight each other then pretty much ever Vs films Sentai done. The only reason the teams ever fight in those is because of a dumb misunderstanding or something stupid.
The fight between both power ranger is iconic my only problem is in the second fight when Kira and Tori were doing the classic beam struggle Tori blast looked way too weak like it looked like Kira got her but than it turns out they were both even

I actually watched the later third of Dino Thunder. Then they showed reruns (which I thought were brand new episodes at the time) of Ninja Storm in the during the lead up to S.P.D.. So for several years, I thought this crossover was a back door pilot that took place after Ninja Storm concluded.

Thunder storm is the definition of epic there's so much to appreciate and love an excellent showcase of both teams while paying respect and reverence to ninja rangers showing how they've come far from ninja storm but also showing how far the dino thunder rangers have come. The morph and fights are so peak and it keeps getting better cause we even get to see the main villains fight holyshit. its up there for me with to the tenth power and reinforcements from the future my only nitpicks are why does Blake have his morpher in the beginning when he has no powers?, why were they shocked at the idea of an evil ranger when for a good bit of dino thunder they were fighting an evil white ranger along with also watching the video journal where they learn tommy was once evil that was weird. I get you wanted the suprise factor of the audience being shocked at seeing the ninja storm rangers go bad but ya don't need to have keira and such sound dumb for it but thats about it as far nitpicks go for me just an excellent team up.

Trent literally says "I thought we were the last ones" after Kira says that, implying the focus of the sentence is meant to be that only Dino Thunder can still Morph(which isn't quite right anyway, but Whatever), despite Kira putting the emphasis on the word "Evil".

It's one ranger team per bad guy that's the rule. The NS team *couldn't* have helped with Mesagog. Wasn't in their contract.

it’s hilarious you say that because they’re literally at the same volume per my editing suite and dozens upon dozens of re-watches. This was an issue months ago but has been corrected. If anything my voice peaks over the footage many times.
