The roasted pork is a new thing in australia. Now everyone wants the roasted pork. When I started getting banh mi in Sydney in 2000, before they were as popular, it was always just the standard pork roll (type of Vietnamese lunch meat), pickled veg, pate. Now I reckon the benchmark is the places that will roast pork belly as opposed to those who just chuck in some packet crackling from a bag to make it crunchy.

Bánh mì in Australia is so so good, especially the paté. I don't know how they do it but it's so so so different from all the bánh mì I've had in Vietnam and so good.
Random YT recommendations are always fun. I have to travel at least 65km to get decent Vietnamese food in QLD. Well, there is 1 place on the GC that does great pho, and 1 place that does great Banh Mi, but in Southbank you can get them both along with everything else.
I get that exact same thing in Brisbane for about $14 AUD ($9.70 USD). But a larger serving size. (And that's when I order the small). But that's from around the Inala(ish) area (Pho An Skylark specifically) where Vietnamese food is much more common. The style you get differs a bit if you move into other parts of Brisbane (It's a very spread out city).

One thing is for sure you will get good quality beef in your Phở Bò here in Australia
yes forsure!
Banh Mi is one of the greatest things to ever come to Australia. Its a great price and their rolls are delicious on their own.
My mouth is watering, just looking at you eating. You are living the life, Max, going from country to country, sampling the local culture and food.
I had my first bahn mi from a Bankstown bakery in the mid nineties. It was love at first bite and they’re still one of my favourite foods.
Gday mate, welcome down under. I’m in Adelaide, lived in Sydney 2010-2019, I’ve been to Vietnam 4 times. In my humble opinion, you need to go to Cabramatta, and as previously stated by another, Marrickville is good for Banh Mi but the best in Sydney I believe is in Mascot. Go early though and beat the queues… some great places here in Adelaide too. 👍👍
Mascot has the best banh mi in Sydney
@@williamcroslow ummmm that's a big call haha
Hey mate, how’s going ? I am in Adelaide as well, I love to go to Vietnamese around the place - so many favourite places I go. Viet Hoa, Lemongrass, NNQ, phonomina, mr viet just to name a few 🍲
Hi max.
You're back. Love what you're doing.
Most of the bakery's in my town are run by Vietnamese families, freash bread, meat pies, sausage rolls, banh Mi and dumplings. Its the best 🤩
That crunch sound when you bite into a Banh Mi is when you know it's gonna be good!
These restaurants are on my doorstep. Thanks for showing me how awesome they are . I’m going to experience it a whole lot more from now.
Come down to Melbourne if you get the chance, its another multicultural hot pot for food,Vietnamese Chinese,Cambodian,Malaysian Italian etc.Welcome to Oz.
and if you like African, Indian and Middle eastern cuisine then try Dandenong.
@@ianmontgomery7534 the Afghani food in Dandenong is amazing!
Totally!

Bánh mì in Australia is so so good, especially the paté. I don't know how they do it but it's so so so different from all the bánh mì I've had in Vietnam and so good.
chao Mac cam on ban chia se mon an ngon bac Au ngon den ca nha chuc ban ngon mieng
Banh mi in Australia is just so different than the ones we get here in America. Bay Ngo is my favorite to get whenever I visit Sydney.
I didn't see this coming, just wait until he gets to cabra!
Random YT recommendations are always fun. I have to travel at least 65km to get decent Vietnamese food in QLD. Well, there is 1 place on the GC that does great pho, and 1 place that does great Banh Mi, but in Southbank you can get them both along with everything else.
Love to see you back here in Mắc ơi ! ❤
PHỞ in Australia is the best … Australia beef is yummm 😋 Say hi to Chris in Hà Nội :))
Mac' is back. Glad to see you again...
Here in Perth, my go-to for crispy pork banh mi is in Girrawheen. Only $8.
Good to see Max back making video about Vietnamese foods ❤
Apparently you're also a fan of the coffee lady at Chợ Bình Tây, Saigon. Hope to catch you in Melbourne, so much good Viet food here 😊
Ma max. Not only have you added to my list of things to eat in India when I pop over there but now a huge list of places to eat up in my home town Sydney. Love your content man.
Thank you Max Nice to meet you in Sydney and Happy day.❤️❤️❤️❤️👏👏👏👏👏🇺🇸🇦🇺
I'm an old Australian living in Saigon.
I really liked this video.
Well done.

Those birds are called bin chickens, scavengers

Proper name is Ibis
Excited for this australia content...i'm planning on moving to sydney and need all the vietnamese food recs
Max while you in Oz don’t miss Melbournes Viet superb’s Footscray and Springvale. A must see and must eat.
5 years ago I would of taken my mates to Victoria Street in Richmond but unfortunately government policies have ruined the area
Don’t miss out Banh mi from Bun bun when you are in Springvale.
@@melllll2507 went there on Saturday line was huge
Kiwi here, I used to live in Sydney but moved back home some time ago. Oh man I miss Banh mi so bad. Ive been chasing that taste for years. Ended up making my own. The secret ingredient is Maggi's seasoning. Sydney does it best though!
That Banh Mi looks incredible. Is that the standard serving or did she give you a Max special.
If that's a standard serving I'm going to make sure her shop is on my itinerary next visit.
I haven't been to that shop in over twenty years, but that was the serving size back then.
Legit the moment the video start, immediatly recognise the location (which is Bankstown), because as vietnamese immigrant, i grew up there. This is actually nostiglic thank you.
người miêu tả texture đồ ăn VN hay nhất là người nước ngoài :))
Your channel name is quite impressive. It shows that you understand the meaning of Vietnamese more than just normal communication.
I'm curious to see how you would compare the Vietnamese food in California vs Australia. Definitely need to hit up all the joints in CA and let us know what you think.
Don't know about the food, but for sure in Orange County, CA, Mắc would be recognized and a lot of people would come and shake his hands.
Viet food in Houston is the best
Australia beat ca but tx beat Australia
Australia viet food is the best in the world hands down
Marrickville pork roll was the worker from this banh mi store. So if you like Marrickville pork roll then you should like Bay Ngo. Exactly the same. Stole the ingredients and everything.
I'm Vietnamese raising an little Aussie lol😅 she too Oz Oz oi. oi 😊
Great video as always Max, because of your videos, I've been trying all kinds of wonderful Vietnamese foods! Thanks for sharing.
WOW Max is in Australia, was wonder where he is all this time, come to Melbourne Max.
Growing up around Springvale
We would get them for $2
Cold meats selection only then still really good
Đã lâu ko thấy Mắc ở kênh này!
Ive only been to bankstown twice and went to those pho and banh mi places - unbelievable- best ive ever had in syd or melb
You're in Bankstown!!! Wow!!! How long are you in Australia?
Only two kinds of people get to eat banh mi like these guys
1. The owner's new boyfriend
2. UA-cam stars
The rest of us mere mortals have to get by with something a little bit less slendiferous.
damn 🤣I need to head down to Cabra to get some good Banh Mi
Max in Australia let's gooo!!!
my first banh mi was @ bankstown , was addicted after 1st bite so good🥰
Didnt recognize the channel name for a moment
Weird
You changed the channel name to `Mắc ơi`, which makes Vietnamese people feel very friendly. Thank you, Max.
Max pls upload this vietnamese videos of mac oi , on daily max channel so everybody can enjoy to see it .
