What I often see people fail to do when trying this build is utilize each time you can use Hydro Pump. Hence why it’s a more aggressive build. In 1 fight you can easily get in 3 Hydro Pumps minimum which is a lot of damage and CC. And the closer you are to your target the more both of those things are. So you wanna get in close open the fight with Hydro, THEN get into Rapid, Hydro either right away or try to time how it can best displace people, and by the time you get out of Rapid you should be able to use Hydro right away. It’s an “in your face” build. You are a DPSer causing CC havoc. And you wanna always be trying to press the attack button as often as you can for those Boosted Attack procs which will reduce your CDs as well as do the extra damage.
I remember playing this build a year ago and the people in the discord brutally hated on me. They kept saying if it's not spout spin it's a throw

I feel that this was a build I played as well back then as well when water spout/rapid was always the go to and getting flamed,how times changed
I mean being unstoppable was really the whole gimmick in a game of stuns and slows being unstoppable was insanely broken Greedent and blast

Funny, cause when Blastoise first came out this was the build I used. Eventually I switched to Surf/Hydro Pump but now I want to go back to this since you reminded me of how it worked

This was literally my build since day one of Blastoise release. Only difference was the Scarf was not out yet. Yet when I saw people try it they were never using the Hydro Pump at the proper times and that’s why I think it never caught on. This is also a super aggressive play style.
Great video jake! You could do a tier list with starters and other predictions for unite. Honestly really want Chesnaught to be added, maybe when Legends ZA comes out

Hoopa’s Hole with Shadow Ball is a go-to because the extra damage seems better in non-coordinated play. Plus the stun right after the ball hits is not bad
good that ppl is finally cookin' on this build, i used to play it a lot in soloq bc i felt bad being the tank without a move that can drives away the enemies from my squishy teammates, and it was nice 👍🏻

Curse incense mime with barrier and psychic to reduce spl defense and also protect attacker by keeping speedsters at bey, as well as having 3 instances of psychic during rayquaza fights. That's a lot of aoe stuns and spl def debuff

I really like Scald+Telekenisis on Slowbro. Telekenisis in general is one of my favorite moves, its really goofy.
A very aggressive build that doesn't need spoon or stacking, interesting.
already tried this build like a year ago. This advantage only works if there’s level advantage otherwise it’s useless
Usually play x speed on Blastoise, but this has interesting potential with eject button into rapid spin/hydro. Going to try this next time thanks.
Eject is mandatory on blast. You gotta move that unite.
I feel like rock tomb stealth rock crustle is good but I’m wondering if it’s actually good? I can secure objectives and kills with the moves but is it the best crustle build I don’t know

I play hurricane dive cram, basically a ranged speedster with cc. Squishy as hell though
I like to play aerial ace-fly, talonflame with resident guard. It allows talon to survive, long enough in a fight for another fly.
Lately I've really been enjoying Gardy with psychic/Future Sight.
One weird build that I think is pretty solid is Greninja’s Double Team and Surf. Ok, hear me out, water shuriken is a consistent damage move, but unlike Inteleon’s liquidation, if you move around while using the move, some of your shurikens can miss. While as Surf gives you mobility and is one burst of damage. I wouldn’t say this build is better, just saying it isn’t half bad ( I’ve tried ).
A guilty pleasure build for me. I much prefer the extra burst compared to spout.
A build I've always liked that everyone says is comparatively worse is Eldegoss's Leafstorm/Cotton Shield build. Sure it doesn't have heals or knock ups, but it gives your team all the movement speed. Doing fast rotations with your team to or after and objective feels sooooooo good! Plus, it helps your allies get away when they are getting chased.
Roll out double slap wigglytuff is op has some great dive and escapes almost anything it's my favorite build for it 😊
seriously, this is my go to build for stack blastoise
half way point of the video question/answer: I really like defensive mewtwo X, I love characters that PULL enemies in mobas and unite seems to be allergic to introducing more of them, especially for support/tanks - so m2x is really fun in that regard with exp share and what not.

Pikachu's volt tackle and thunder is weird but one of my favorite builds to play
I think spirit shackle and leaf storm on decidueye is also really good
Umbreon's foul play and snarl combination is pretty good. I think foul play is better than mean look. I also like pikachu's thunder and thunderbolt combination.

This Build alongside Mean Look Umbreon in a double tank team comp would be disgusting...
Build idea:
You can do a wise glasses, energy amp, and focus band so you can have a very powerful hydro pump after your unite. If you use the rapid pump moveset you'll be able to instantly dish out tons of dmg.
Edit:
You can also majorly eliminate the porblem of waiting for your unite move by continually scoring super small amounts of points in one push because it regenerates 10% of your unite every score no matter how many aeos points you have

Hey Jake, can you explain why dig on garchomp is worse than dragon rush? I get that earthquake is worse than dragon claw, you can be stunned out of it and it doesn't seem to do as much damage. But the defense boost on dig seems really impactful. How come nobody ever plays dig/dragon claw?

I think you already made this video but scizor with bullet punch and double hit. I didn't mean to go double hit I clicked on it by accident and I actually did VERY well. 15 KOs 0 assist 189 score points. I still prefer swords dance but double hit wasn't bad.
So basically launch Blastoise build, swapping buddy barrier for rapid scarf.
Aegislash iron head/sacred sword is my favorite combo. Unfortunately iron head has fallen off... Followed by the entire mon

blastoise combo-womboing the enemy jungle is so much better than doing damage
Japanese people also played score comp in finals, but for SOME REASON nobody plays score comp
Cuz score shield nerf gutted the strat

I think this is a build most players should avoid in solo queue. The ability of a defender to zone and reposition opponents is something 5 stacks take better advantage of than randos.

I love pokemon unite, but literally fed up of bad teamates. I was just playing blastoise in ranked, and an azu was just farming wild pokemon (literally.) didnt bother stopping regi thing from base (was on bottom lane) never botherered in team fights, never got objectives, and in ray while everyone else was fighting they were just standing by our goal. (We lost obviously.)

The build is not new. And Rapid Spin not being immune to Crowd Control like it was at release already is the nerf to any Rapid Spin build.

Lol. Actual waste of a build personally. Literally there is whole moveset for displacement and stuns and synergies way better. Then the damage route where one can smother someone and do tons of damage instead of pushing them with pump and away.
Ive seen it. Played with and against it. Its not that impressive.
On that note i actually tried the pika build with volt tackle and thunder and it was actually really good 😂

It’s supposed to be played aggressively and taking advantage of the displacement. And you are ALWAYS trying to land normal attacks to proc his passive and the scarf.
