Thanks mate, you didn't mention the most awesome thing about it - Stanislaus Zybysko is in it, he has a great role, he acts well and he has a dramatic and well staged shoot scene in a gym showing some legit wrestling holds. Stanislaus Zybysko! Just wow
Yeah, great movie, saw it many times on TCM. Piece of trivia: It turns out that Stanislaus Zbyszko, the real life wrestler who played Gregorious, and his brother, Wladek, had a farm in Missouri and took in a young Harley Race to work there and also trained him as a wrestler. Also, always love Mike Mazurki in any role. He was at his very best as a ruffian in an episode of the Bowery Boys called "Live Wires" where he played the part of Patsy Clark, which you can still find the full move if you google it.
@@openmodalguitar61 💥WOWZERS💥 Stanislaus Zybysko indeed! One of The Legit early tough guys of Rasslin to be sure! Great Share and Thank You for this! Cheers👋
@@bobsacco4634 Yes, Mike Mazurki really made a name for himself usually playing bad guys and Hood Characters! He had the "Mug" to be a villain and from what I read about him he was such a loveable guy away from the spotlight! Salute Bob 👋
You can see the Verne Gagne Wrestler movie on UA-cam. Not a great movie but an excellent piece of pro-wrestling nostalgia. Lots of great cameos and Vince Senior had a speaking cameo. Basically the movie was made to promote pro-wrestling to a wider audience. In classic Verne Gagne kayfabe, there are a number of scenes of exposition where Verne is essentially “explaining” pro-wrestling to the audience.
Wrestler in a movie? Why, you can’t go wrong with the best movie ever made…..The Princess Bride which co-starred the Eighth Wonder of the World. Andre the Giant!
Condemned should have got a lot more hype than it did was very good... Funk looked the part played it but didn't have the main character draw as Stone Cold didn't Condemned 💯
The Swedish Angel and Primo Carnera were in Mighty Joe Young . The Nightclub scene where Joe overpowers several giant men in a tug of war .
Requiem For A Heavyweight at the end of the film Anrhony Quinn was in the ring with Haystacks Calhoun
Ric Flair with his comb back and mutton chops was in the dining room scene . I never noticed Don tbh
I like don muraco!
I wish this podcast was still on, I remember Muraco and a few others on Magnum P.I.
All the marbles, grunt, bodyslam all great wrestling movies
Night in The City is the best “ wrestling “ movie ever. An old black and white film noir with the London wrestling scene as its backdrop
Appreciate you sharing this Ben. I need to find this and watch! Thanks Bruddah👋

The Rock's best movie was the Rundown.
Southland Tales was interesting, I had to watch it a few times.
I no longer watch Rock's movies
Hey Don, who’s in that top photo in the background. I’ve seen it in a bunch of your videos.I think I recognize Fuji and Hogan.
