EDIT: Turns out you can move files in the stock OS using the “Cut” command. Honestly, though, I still find the OS pretty clunky-I’ve never thought of “Cut” as the same thing as “Move.” Would love to hear anyone else’s thoughts on the OS as well!
Very appreciative of you (as a real user, and not somebody promoting such devices implicitly or explicitly) summing up some very important cons for my use case. I‘ve been dreaming of this device (or the Note Max soon to come, or the Supernote A5X2 to come whenever), but you might have just convinced me to forego all three of them, since the lack of a light would probably lead me to use it a lot less (as in your case, too). Now using a Kindle Scribe, and wishing for more and better notetaking features, but not at the cost of having to go hunting for a spot with enough light just in order to jot something down or read a bit before going to bed. Sure, I could just keep using the Scribe for dark or nighttime conditions, but why have to deal with 2 devices just for better notetaking features? Also, your point about the clunky Boox OS really hits home. I detest learning curves and complexity. So if any of the upcoming devices might still be worth trying, I suppose the A5X2 (despite the lack of a light) would be the only one. Maybe just better to pass.
Thank you! I hope that boox releases another entry level tablet that’s like the GO 10.3 but with a backlight. I know that it would damper the writing feel a bit, but it’s definitely a feature that a lot of people need. Glad you enjoyed the video!
I've had my Go 10.3 for just over a month now. Similar experience as you on the default pen, so I've got both the Staedtler Noris Jumbo and also the Lamy pen. My preferred pen tip for Lamy A-Star is the PC/EL 3.5mm pointier tip. I've also tried the Staedtler Noris Jumbo pen tip inside Lamy which also works well. The writing feel is pretty good, a bit different from my Supernote Nomad. Definitely better contrast and easier on the eyes compared to Note Air 3C which didn't work for me.
My mainstay is the A5X but I also have the Boox Lumi2 and Notebook Air 2 Plus for running a few Apps to compliment the A5X, apart from having access to all the Apps on _'Google Play'_ i have found the _'Split Screen Mode'_ that comes with Boox devices very helpful indeed. Thanks for the video, appreciated.
Thanks for a great video. I’m currently considering an e-Ink device, most likely the Go 10.3, to replace my paper notebooks for University study. I’m keen to be able to move around pages to match up lecture notes, reading notes and lab notes, which are often a few weeks apart, and also annotating research PDF’s. Your point about whether I really need to replace paper notes is spot on.

Was just about to comment on this. I also install Solid Explorer for file management--it's much easier to work with.
That felt like a very very honest review. I really respect that. Good job and I look forward to more of your videos about eink.
That was a nice honest review of the device. I own one and love it, but I understand it’s not for everyone.

@ Yes, you summed up the best-case scenario.

I haven’t tried out any other nibs on the LAMY, I might have to try that out!

Oh nice! Maybe I'll buy it! Thanks
