Sony Minidisc MDS-E10 Repair

I picked this up during my visit to the stone mountain hamfest 2022. It was only $20, I am not into minidisc machines but I figured why not?
Lets fix it!

yeah, that's definitely the kind of unit that'd be in an audio rack in a radio station. From the sound of it, probably AM. They were probably recording the phone line for a remote traffic guy or the like to play later or who knows. One trick I'm going to pass on to you to help with melting belt syndrome: the q-tips with the pointyish tips, doused in everclear, is the absolute best thing to get into the stubborn crevices and get all the belt goo out. it's also wildly effective on other rubberized coating stuffs like on vintage Thinkpads that have gone stickier than flypaper.

I'm surprised you sourced those belts.
Tape the baggie to the inside floor of the unit and it will never get lost.
