Ooh, please do some more videos on Economics and what it's like to actually study it at Uni! I'm considering doing it at uni but I wanna know what it's like!
In case you're still unsure, the easiest way to find out is to simply go on the uni websites and look at the modules (content, contact hours and stuff) thats all there really is to it nothing is 'hidden'
@@jeffrey8770 Yeah, but you don't know exactly what those modules are. That's why you should watch videos about it or ask the uni for a meeting day. Where you just follow a class and see what happens.
Coming to York next month, staying in James college shared bathroom exactly like you, but was worried that because it was shared bathroom that the flat wouldn’t be mixed, so I’m glad ive seen some lasses in this video now
Studying Econ too. What do you plan after university? Could you do a video on job options with an economics degree on bachelors and masters level? Keep it up man. #subscribed
When I was in the first year of my studies, I also took a statistical course. It was quite a nightmare when I first encounter t-test, but I overcome it by reading the textbook and practising question. I got a B in the course
@anti non gamers association majority of it is GCSE math with differentiation The statistics and econometrics is another story but none of it is technically intensive but a lot of new concepts
@anti non gamers association yeah. Don't do it and go study a real subject like MORSE stats or math cuz that'll give you a couple more career choices But this only applies to Warwick though which is where I'm at ha ha
Was planning on taking Physics in college but my friend convinced me that Economics was the one I decided to take it and wow is it fun I find it so interesting, especially the teacher who teaches me Economics who is hilarious
Thanks to your friend that convinced you because physics is just useless degree until you go for PhD and become an aged professor lol. Economics is the best degree to have! High paying job, lot of demand and also it's way more interesting than physics because economics is reality based and physics is so fiction i mean there's no reality in physics laws lol.
dylan ngl this video triggered me because i had my heart set on economics and i specifically chose maths, politics, and sociology a level and now im thinking i might as well just cri
Maths is heavily used in econ degree level. The graphs u see in a level, you can use calculus to find out more information such as the area under the graph or the gradient at any given point.
fammmm I feel you completely, Im a first year econ at UoManchester and even with an A in A level economics its still proving hard .. They tripled the size of the marginal propensity calculations.. added in some decently hard calculus in the course aswell. I feel sorry for people who didn't do econ A level, they have no foundations and are getting thrown into the deep end. I just had my midterms this week aswell, all online tests that could be taken anywhere. Everyone I know cheated by just doing it with 5 people working out the questions instead of 1, so we all got full marks. Probably why they make first year not count towards the final grade
Zealous Neil I do the BA but with the advanced maths module so its not much different in first year; BSc gets a lot more mathsy in second year for a level i just wrote up these notes www.tinyurl.com/janny8910 the ‘paper 1 and 2’ document has the most useful information for me. essay plans were cool, I wish i did more past papers
Zealous Neil yeah im on BA Econ&Finance but the modules are very negotiable, if you can show that you know A level maths then they will happily transfer you to advanced. I self studied it so I had to ask them. BA Econ and BA E&F are the exact same in first year so just pick either and you can swap after first year no prob
Zealous Neil the spec of the module is here www.manchester.ac.uk/study/undergraduate/courses/2017/05136/baecon-economics-and-finance/course-details/ECON10071#course-unit-details I’d say you need a hella strong foundation in calculus to take this module, its the biggest part so far and also the biggest part of economics as a whole aside from stats. I used Khan Academy or Physics&MathsTutor or ExamSolutions for most things and just followed the Edexcel A-level maths spec, although if I really hated some topics I’d just skip them since I didnt have to take an exam lol. I did do further maths GCSE but you wouldnt be at a major disadvantage if you didn’t, it just gave me a head start on matrices and basic differentiation. If you have time, do C1,C2,C3,C4,S1,S2 and maybe dip your toes into D1 although I didn’t. Do it over the summer if you want to avoid disrupting your A level grades. If you want something more applied to economics (won’t really help with this module but will help with the rest of econ) there’s a good book called Maths for Economics by Geoff Renshaw which I’ve used, it starts from basic maths like adding fractions all the way up to top level stuff. I have the PDF of it if you like, lemme know if you want it
I also took the econometrics course in my final year, it was not very hard, but I got a B. One of my friend who had a weaker statistical background, he got B+. I was quite shocked
Do you have to be good at maths to do economics? I'm currently studying it in high school in Italy and I like it (and I'm kinda good at it when I study) but I'm terrible at maths lol

I was like that too, don't worry too much about it, marketing doesn't have any maths in it, maybe a little bit of finances, but nothing hard.
