THANK YOU,THANK YOU, THANK YOU! Just what I needed! Was wondering how to give height to my piece and you came to the resuce again! I am thinking of "going to the ocean" with these awesome stitches! You are soooo talented in figuring out problems. Maggie
Thank you so much!💚 I don't know that there's any better compliment than for someone to tell me I have inspired their work. Thank you for taking the time to comment.
Hi there! Your channel is amazing! I’m having trouble with this stitch as I can’t seem to pull my needle through, I think I’ve done something wrong but can’t figure out what!
I’m sorry it’s taken so long to reply. Thank you for your kind words. This stitch is real finicky for me. Sometimes it seems like it comes right through and unravels everything. Sometimes it gets stuck partway and sometimes everything is fine. One thing I do try to make sure of is that I’ve got a couple of cast on stitches at the end and I really don’t have any other tips because it’s it’s frustrating but when it works, I love it.. I’m sure there’s something I’m doing wrong and I just haven’t figured out yet.
Two reasons. Because I never learned about Z twist and S threads before I learned this stitch and because I like the effect I get with this thread. 🙂 I am all about the end effect and not at all concerned about how I get there since I never learned "proper" embroidery.🙃 Also since this is a medieval stitch, I don't know that they had the same sorts of threads and twists. No expert here ..just a fiber lover who likes to experiment. 💚
Whoops. Forget what I said about the medieval stitch. I thought you were commenting on the over twist. I think this is just the way I played around with it and that's why it came out twisted the way it did and I do love this yarn on it. Sorry if I confused you.

Neat! I love watching you teach stitches.

I keep a wine cork to push the needle through thick places.
That’s another good option.💚💚💚

Just because I try to understand before to have a go, why do you Z twist your bullion with a S thread ?

Have fun exploring different yarns and threads.
