Skyrim Battles - The Ebony Warrior vs. Miraak - Boss Fight at the Summit of Apocrypha

- What happens if the Ebony Warrior faces Miraak? Not much, because the Ebony Warrior is highly superior and crushes Miraak with no effort at all, as he has in a previous episode, and many other videos on UA-cam.
However, what if we take the Ebony Warrior to Apocrypha, with Miraak's boss mechanics, and Kruziikrel and Relonikiv helping him? Normally, they just circle around the platform and don't join the battle, until Miraak absorbs their souls to regenerate. For this video, I made them ignore their passive state, and fight the Ebony Warrior instead. Sahrotaar also attacks both Miraak and the Ebony Warrior, making for a much more interesting battle.
Note that, as opposed to what the Wiki says, Kruziikrel and Relonikiv cannot spawn as high as level 50 because they have a level modifier that makes them spawn as weak dragons (unless you spawn copies via the console). Sahrotaar on the other hand is a true Serpentine Dragon.
I also fixed the bug that makes Miraak unable to regenerate his health after each phase so he would get stuck in the ethereal state forever, especially at higher levels.
I removed Miraak's Cyclone Shout for this fight, because his elemental breath shouts are way more effective, plus they have a much faster cooldown. The recording you see in this episode is one of the best attempts Miraak has managed, and he still didn't even get close to winning. I have seen the Ebony Warrior finish him with no problems many times, even without ever using his healing spell or potions, and often at almost full health.
Miraak can only put some pressure on him by spamming his shouts for some damage and guaranteed stagger, attacking rapidly (especially while the Ebony Warrior doesn't have his shield equipped), and getting enough help from his dragons. Even with this combination, the Ebony Warrior had not lost once during the many hours I have spent on this battle.
Overall, this episode was one of the most difficult and frustrating videos I have ever made. It truly followed Murphy's Law. Scripted fights are already complicated to deal with in custom battles, but this one was a nightmare, and I'm not planning on doing more formats like that in the near future.

Miraak is really powerful, he was the first dragonborn, he can use cool shouts, he even has 2 dragons and even the champion of a freaking daedric prince, as well as an extreme amount of knowledge, however, even with all of that Miraak is still no match for, the one and only.....Ebony Warrior, I really love these battles you create, they are full of never ending fun and action and amazing battle music, your battle videos make Skyrim much more exciting, and this awesome battle proved once more how almost unbeatable the Ebony Warrior is. I’ve always been really underwhelmed by Miraak’s spell selection. Yes he has access to shouts, but still. Like you have access to all of apocrypha and all you know is fire bolt and lightning bolt.
It's definitely disappointing, yeah. Granted, he has a huge magicka pool at high levels and very low costs so he can consistently cast spells, but it's still not very good. At least, he should be able to cast them with both hands.
Some people have suggested that he should have unique spells, maybe a green version of the firebolt with more damage. It's some missed potential. Although I'm glad he at least has his unique sword and staff!
@@lSlendermasterhis shouting should be nerfed by lengthening the cool down to at least 15 seconds, and maybe give him a unique green fireball that does 80 points of AOE damage
@@Supcharged 15 seconds feels too long to me, but he definitely should have a green fireball version! Kinda sad, it's just missed potential
In the Requiem mod Miraak is insanely powerful. It'd be interesting to see battles with that mod. For example, Miraak can summon three atronachs at once and has more powerful spells.
Dang i had a feeling it would go this way but I was still rooting for Miraak. Something about the whole apocrypha chapter and the forbidden knowledge stuff is just so cool

I would love to see a video of the different guilds fighting each other. Like all the companions against the whole theives guild.
That has been done dozens of times, most battles are complete curbstomps or flatout boring.
Not to mention how Skyrim starts to freak out with many NPCs at once.

I use the Floating Healthbars mod for the healthbars, but the battles themselves mostly rely on console commands, both of which are not available on consoles. 😅
There are two great absents from your battles: Talvas Fathryon and the infamous, underrated, ultra-aggressive Drelas!
I've used Talvas before, but he's really weak, so he doesn't appear often. 😅 Drelas seems to be the same as a generic leveled warlock. It would be identical to my Pyromancer, Cryomancer, and Electromancer episodes, which we already had quite a lot 😅

Even though the result was obvious, Miraak did better than I expected. His AI played it smart by having hin keep his distance instead of trying to compete with The Ebony Warrior up close, which would have been a wash.
Its still crazy though that even with 3 health bars and a home field advantage Miraak still got folded
I fully agree! It was a better fight than I thought. Initially, I had doubts if it would make for a good episode, but I'm really happy with the result. 😁
It shows just how powerful the Ebony Warrior is. Even without his script and boss mechanics, Miraak is still one of the strongest NPCs in the game, but the Ebony Warrior is on a whole other level 😂

This is the only decent Ebony Warrior vs Miraak fight video. Most other tend to be shitty because stupid cuts, bad music, or shitty area or poor camera angle.

I was really rooting for Miiraak, here. But gotttttt DAMN.. Ebony had him backpedaling nearly the entire fight lmao. Boss mechanics definitely spruced it up though. Give Thanks

There’s not really a comparison between a light and heavy armor, heavy armor, grants, more defense that’s the first Dragon born health is going down much faster than the Ebony warriors
The player usually has much less health than the Ebony Warrior, and will take much more damage on higher difficulty settings 😄
I think this might be my favourite battle you have made. Everything is perfect. The music, voice overs. The dragons helping.

Wasn't expecting the Ebony Warrior to win this easily, however, what about trying this same fight but with the Miraak Follower mod, specifically the Horde Mode of said mod?

I avoid most custom NPCs that are overhauls of existing ones, especially unique bosses. Sorry 😅

What level did you have? Miraaks level is player level + 10 (or 15), and ebony warrior’s is always 80. The most fair fight would be if you had 70 (or 65) level
Miraak was at his level cap. The Ebony Warrior is already a lot better if Miraak is leveled much higher, so there's no point of making Miraak even weaker 😄
Miraak (boss room, Lv88) + Neloth have a chance to defeat Ebony warrio, at least the difficulty of Expert and Adept is this.
They would need to get incredibly lucky, or rely on stagger spam 🤔
would karstaag have done even better
I think so because he can heal so much during the phases. Without the boss mechanics, Miraak does better against Karstaag than the Ebony Warrior, but he loses too much time with his whirlwind sprint and ethereal state.
Also, he's almost useless against Karstaag if he doesn't use his sword 😂

Really well. He would heal up plenty of HP (probably most or all of it) during Miraak's spectral phases
people put mirrak and the last dragon born together in power showing vs shorts they clearly ahev not seen the fact ebony is leagues stronger than mirrak hell I got a mod that lets you make naybody your follower the first thing I did when I met the ebony warrior was make him my companion and let me say the man is the best guy to have at your back he is jsut amazing he fights well does a crap ton of damage does not get stuck in stuff and summons a storm atronach every battle and boy he'll be the best companion you could ask for and I wish that was a ingame thing I did not have to get a mod for
Having such a strong companion makes the game very easy, so I don't think it should be a vanilla thing. But of course, it's nice to have mods for almost anything 😄

And he's a Redguard, not a Nord
