    I'm from Louisiana and like all of us here we take day trips and long stays in the FLA panhandle all our lives. 30A is a spot I have frequented because the beaches are taken care of...a sign of good locals who respect the lands and laws + bounty of volunteers=big kudos to volunteers. I'm a big one and often do beach cleaning at many other destinations I've visited and it's exhausting and overwhelming. Anyway I actually am in 30A right now...algorithms are real funny. How I found this vid. So I chose to camp in nearby state park. Sometimes I car camp, stay at budget ABnBs, or luxury hotels...all depending on my mood and budget since I have to spread it out to travel more as a solo gal. Camping here is actually super great, safe, secure. Grayton Park is ny fav. One thing I have always noticed here, it's completely white. You know what I mean. There's literally no ethnicity or sense of culture here besides the people who work in the food and hotel industry's out here. Also, you’ll get these local FLA visitors who own property out here or locals who dont pass the vibe check...they don't say hi passing you up at a park or say thanks as you wait 10 minutes for them to casually cross the road at a light with no sense of urgency or care that you're waiting on them to move. In Louisiana where we embrace everyone withba smile and a wave, that wouldnt fly and we'd think you're a big weirdo. Beautiful and fun place, but it gives a very entitlement feeling here. And you'll see lots of loafers and seersucker lol. So these types of people will fit right in and others not so much. I travel a ton for work and fun, and there's other FLA towns similar to this where I felt embraced all cultures and people will say a hello or a thank you in passing. Fun vid covering the town but yeah those are my honest thoughts for anyone else who visits and wants to know the real vibe. 30A is def nice to visit for the beaches and bicycling the long fun paths- that's about all I come for. Dining is abundant and good too though.😂

      Thanks for watching & for sharing your thoughts! They've definitely put more restrictions on the public in the area over the past year, which we don't care for. We hope they can make it a place that everyone can enjoy & not just a select few. Thanks again!!

    • @JamesandMeg
      @JamesandMeg  7 місяців тому

      When we went it wasn't privatized yet, but from what we've heard they have done that to a lot of the public beach access points. If you are staying at a property that has beach access then you will be good, but just make sure your stay has an associated beach access!

    • @JamesandMeg

    Where should I go first rosemary seaside , so many choices

    • @JamesandMeg
      @JamesandMeg  2 роки тому

      You can't go wrong with either! Both great options with beautiful views. I will say Rosemary is a little more laid back.

    • @deshipe
      @deshipe 2 роки тому +12

      Here's what I think: Seaside is the more laid back. They have the airstream row, pickles, and sundog bookstore. It's very family friendly, young children are constantly playing in the grassy area. People are casually strolling around all day.
      Rosemary might be my favorite (it's a close call). But it's fancier. I would say there' is more money in Rosemary. Both are expensive to stay in, but Rosemary has nothing but big homes to rent. At seaside, you can stay in smaller homes especially if you go a little East to Seagrove.
      Rosemary seems to have lots of young adults. Go to the La Crema or across highway 98 to Cuvee 30a and the place will have lots of young people. You'll have a wait for dinner at these places. They tend to party, so there's lots of drink. I don't know why they don't prefer Panama City Beach which was the old MTV Spring Break. Neither Seaside of Rosemary have nightclubs.
      There is no public beach access in Seaside or Rosemary beach. You need to wristbands and or gate codes that only renters get. In Seaside there's public access from Seagrove beach and I think a big public beach to the West just before Watercolor with parking. In Rosemary, you'd have to go to nearby Inlet beach for parking and public access.
      Car parking in Rosemary is free, but limited. There's constantly people driving around looking for parking. Seaside is now all paid parking. It's $10 per day, no in and out. It's a shame, Seaside was more visitor friendly just 2 or 3 years ago. But I think they are just getting overwhelmed as the area attracts more and more crowds. Try to park at the Watercolor beach access West of town and walk in.
      But honestly either is good. You may need to drive between them (or get a golf cart). It's likely a pretty long bike ride in the Florida heat. But they are not a far drive apart, and it's simple drive over highway 30a.
      Alys Beach (pronounced Alice) is the ridiculously expensive area. There wasn't much there a few years ago so it really grew. I haven't even tried to stay in Alys. It probably makes Rosemary look cheap.
      Watersound is a nice, newer area between Rosemary and Seaside. It may not be too pricey yet, and the Hub area seems laid back. If you stay in Watersound, you might be able to ride bikes to either Seaside and Rosemary. Check the distance to be sure.
      Grayton beach is the real laid back beach West of Seaside (and Watercolor). Hit's has a so of hippie/ beach bum feel. Everyone is very casual. Lots of public beach access. You are able to drive onto the beach, but check for the rules. I have heard people taking dogs on Grayton beach, but I think you can get fined if you aren't a resident. The only public dog beach is at Pier Park in Panama City Beach.
      Dune Allen and Gulf Place is another area. It's West of Grayton getting close to Destin. You'll probably need to drive into Seaside or Rosemary so stuff to do. But the rental prices are likely cheaper and there's lots of public beach access.
      Now, if you are going to drive anyway, then maybe stay in nearby Sandestin. I like Mirmar and Frangista beaches. There's no small beach town vibe, the cost is likely half of what you'd pay on 30a. Of course you could also stay in the west end of Panama City Beach. Short drive to Rosemary

      That's completely different, that's coke and woke nonsense area 😂. People have been running from Miami/Fort Lauderdale to the west side for years if you look at the numbers. I've been in downtown Naples and Fort Myers the last two years & a lot of people sold to people coming down and came to the west side to escape high taxes and poorly ran cities on the east side. If they want to visit back home for a weekend it's less than 2 hrs away. As far as SE Florida this year I've stayed in Jupiter, Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood Beach, South Beach, Doral, Brickell, and Delray so I've seen my fair share of cities to have an opinion. Also know people who live there, Gulf of Mexico is where it's at!
