Thanks for sharing this one. It's one of those things you wouldn't really notice just watching you play, but now I get the value of spending some time with this technique. Great little digestible lesson.
Economy picking is something I have a REALLY hard time getting comfortable with. it's very frustrating! good lesson, sir! I like when you do videos like this!
great video on this theme. It's a great technique. it's underrated in my opinion. when you master it, it's as efficient as strictly down and upstroke. Just my opinion. thanks Euge! good job as always!
I mostly use directional picking which is a form of economy picking. Basically you’re alternate picking but when ascending strings start with a down stroke. When going back down descending strings start with an upstroke. I can’t do pure economy picking like your first example of four notes across two strings. That I can do much better alternate picking.
I'm talking about "economic" picking but I guess the correct word in this context is "economy". Well anyways... you know what I mean 😎.
At 62 years old im lucky if i can play any solos anymore. I just turn the amp up super loud and piss off the neighbors . Rock on Euge🤘🏻🤘🏻
Good :-)
@@EugeValovirta230Vim almost exclusively a down picker. My brain wants to pick up and down but it never seems to make it to my fingers . 😂😂

Thanks man!
I wish I could go that fast. 😂 it’s hard but I will keep working on it. Thank you for sharing

Look at that pinky finger air jamming 😅 that what mine does! I can’t get it to bend down and stay!
I still have a copy of Speed Picking by Frank Gambale from 1985 that I need to work through. Lost the cassette though ☹
Seems like great minds think alike 😂 I’ll use whenever it’s possible too. I’m kind a lazy I guess 😁
😎
🤘💪⚡️
Time to go this this till my hand falls off!
I've come to the conclusion that the only style of pro picking I can do is picking my nose ☝👃
😁
Economy is easy for me, it's the alternate picking that is difficult.
Economy Picking?
Yes. Thanks for correcting :-).
