They are the closest ones to God. They do not need your "peace be upon him" prayer. It’s not a way to show “respect” to anyone. You don’t mention “peace be upon you” every time you call your grandmother to show respect. Where is your common sense?

I said one of the saddest for me and it impacted me alot , most prophets endured hardship and faced challanges in their life, anyway long story short Zakariah (pbuh) was planned to be killed by the people of israel , once he realized that he ran away to the forest and hid inside a tree.
Satan (iblis) saw a piece of cloth of the prophet and took it to the people of israel ( as evidence) and led them to the tree. (in this case satan was in a human shape)
They cut both the tree and prophet zakariah (pbuh) into half and he died as shaheed.
