That is a good question. Imagine going on a flight with your ipod or whatever and using a David Clark to listen to music.
Bose can go on all day about how high tech their product is, but you cannot beat the customer service of David Clark. First class service.
Radio Shack has a wide variety of adapters to take the .250 stereo plug down to the 1/8" for listening...but to use the 2nd plug (the .205 mic. plug) into a soundcard is another story. Due to the impedance mismatch..you'd need a special adapter.

@DeadTallyNo9 David Clark offers a 5-year warranty of all of their headsets. They will service it for the lifetime. There are plenty of stories about guys with 25 year old H10-40 headsets (long ago discontinued) that still get them serviced by David Clark (many times at little or no cost too!)
Just got my H10-40 Refurbished 2 weeks ago and is good as new once again!
They charged me $200 though.
the jack is different- very different. You my be interested in some skull candy G.I.'s for music devices though

One is mono one is stereo. The S stands for stereo.
