they should add climbing mounts like : spiders , yetis, Squirrels ( with parachute anti-thunderwaves' effects), etc... would be neat for ambushes ,,mountains and sieges !
Well worth the time...☺ That was actually just a straight up Griffin. Hippogriffs have horse butts rather than the lion butts we're seeing here. I'm quite surprised they haven't done Unicorns & Pegasi yet... Whoever is thumbsdowning your vids really needs to get a job or a hobby...I hear those can provide fulfillment & happiness in life...😌
I love the resting and standing animations of these mounts, AoC certainly going in the right direction with their mounts. Creating mounts and pets that you actually care about will need many nuances in between their main actions. These mounts even in pre alpha seems like having a character of their own.

Loved this video; keep up the great work. ***I wanted to make note on the healing ability on some mounts, such as on the Stag of Boughs that I had. It did work. Your character, while mounted and using this ability, did heal up faster. This helped quite a lot when farming mobs as you could heal faster/ less downtime in between fights.
Those are very well modelled mounts with interesting characterization. Buut I would be a bit nervous while riding anything what has long horns or antlers xD And for some jumping or spinning you would really need magic to hold in saddle x)

The chargers running animation seems a bit odd, feels like he is more gliding over land then running, like his feet is not touching the ground. I am sure they will fix it but thought of mentioning it anyway.
Most of the vids I've seen show the mounts disappear after the player unmounts, do the mounts not persist in the game world if they are not being used? Like you can keep summoning them even without riding them.
The thing that consistently gets me is that flying mounts are supposed to be SUPER rare...and yet every stream, Dev stream, etc, shows flying mounts...as if they are supposed to be common and everyone will have them. I can't figure out which it is. If they're using flying mounts to build and test the game, it's probably going to mean that it's not well balanced for 99% of players who will not have them...
It's the alpha man. They are letting those of us that backed the game for $500 play around and have a little fun. WHen the game comes out I highly doubt you will see them like you are now.
@@WolfheartFPS That's KIND of my point: The game is being tested and balanced "for fun" and flying mounts ARE FUN, apparently. ...but they're going to be denied to most players when the game launches: Which would mean the post-launch game will not be fun. My point is that if the game is fun without flying mounts, then it needs to be TESTED and BUILT without using flying mounts.

Just wanted to say that. :) Understand, I want the game to be good, and one of my chief worries right now is they're testing the "fun factor" of the game with flying mounts. The problem is, unless they're going to let most players have flying mounts, this means most players will have a far lower fun factor than the testers and devs are having right now. Meaning things that SEEM fun right now might be FAR LESS FUN to the average player on release. Make sense?
@@SubduedRadical thanks! They actually only mass gave out flying mounts for the final couple hours of the alpha one. The majority of the alpha was tested with very few players having them. The ones you saw were either from the last day, or they were Intrepid Studios devs or players who won the election to be mayors of a node.

I just know every time I see a Dev stream video, they're all on flying mounts, and it makes me think "Are they designing this game with being grounded in mind?", as it seems they are not by the presentations. I guess later Alpha/Beta coming along will tell the tale. : ) Also: You should throw the Reddit link in your Pinned comment. It's what brought me here, and I liked the written out table so I could compare them. I didn't realize at first that smaller numbers were better, but it makes sense once I understood what was going on. Might even do something like bold/color the parts that are slower than non-mounted. Which seems to be most of the swimming. XD
The mounts look cool but I don't make sense. I think many of these creatures shouldn't be as fast as a horse. Come on, a tortoise? Swimming even? They should make each one have good points and unique abilities, and bad points. But most of all it should make sense. Otters and short legged animals should be good at bursts, and nothing like a horse.

From what I read, they will be able to be present even if you are not riding them. In the alpha they disappear but it’s the alpha.

Not a fan that mounts take up inventory spots, not good for mount collectors, that have to ride them all.
Concering that getting flying mounts will be almost impossible. Doesn't seem like game for a casual player.
So this is the next word of warcraft enhanced at all sectors game and not as I thought elden ring ? ..WoW !!!
