My dad had this same 1987 216 john deere 4 speed manual he bought from the elderly neighbor next door many years ago. I have memories of riding on it with him mowing the grass when I was like 2, 3 years old. Eventually he wanted to upgrade and bought a JD 455 diesel and put the 216 up for a good minute it sat outside rotting a little for a while and he didnt really have any use for it anymore so he likely just was gonna get rid of it so I decided I wanted to keep it in the family so I actually got it apart in the garage now taking my time buying new parts cleaning up all the rust on it from pops letting it sit outside for a few years after he parked it. I can't wait to get it back running and using it again. I'm either planning on using it for shows and parades otherwise I plan to use it for landscaping business.

Very cool! Thanks for watching!
What did you pay?
Because the transaxle doesn't work, I got it for $75! It was a moral imperative that I buy it for such a low price!
@@RealManSkills thanks. I have a 210 for sale, so was curious.
