Thirdly it's nearly impossible to find another contract manufacturer that can replace Foxconn at least not in the next 5 years. Finally, China has a population larger than the US, Europe (not the EU), Canada, Australia, NZ and Japan combined. There is a billion smartphone users in China so just manufacturing for the domestic market is already big enough for Foxconn. China is the world's tech leader in more than 30+ areas like 5G, high speed rail, quantum communications, super tensile steel.... and it cranks out more engineers every year than the US, UK, Germany and Japan combined. China is also the top trading partner with more countries in the world than the US. At only 10% capacity it still supplies 10% of the world. We gave up rare earth because China is willing to destroy their environment and we are not.

The problem is not where to produce but where to sell. China market for Apple represents almost half of its revenue and growing. It's 1.3 billions people market and with a very high savings. It's not the market any business can ignore.
Been There Compared to China, US has a way much higher labor fee and also people in china can work 7 days a week. This is impossible in the US because of the strong labor union. More importantly, US now only has R&D centers and high level manufacturing industries because that can make big money, which also means US doesn't have a full supply chain to support manufacturing IPhone in the US. For example, US doesn't even have enough tooling engineers to help fabricate the IPhone case. The real solution to solve the US economic issue is by investing in the infrastructure and clean energy and many other new manufacturing industries, that can bring a lot of jobs! Especially, the Camera and battery life suck. Meanwhile, there are plenty of options out there with Android system. Good features, good looking, good UI optimization, good camera, good battery life, and affordable price. Should I buy a $1500 dollar phone for novel reading, texting with someone, watching videos and web browsing? Definitely not. Totally not worth it. Apple's marketing strategy is making it fail.

Apple outsources the manufacturing to China. There should be high tariffs on Apple Products. They are an American company who takes advantage of foreign workers who are willing to work for pennies on the dollar. That might be a good wage there, but America has workers who have much higher living cost. We have workers who need jobs to buy Apple products. But we Americans can't all find jobs because Apple is outsourcing their labor to China. Give Apple incentive to hire American Workers over Chinese workers. We have families to support also. We can't compete with workers who are being paid $1 hour. But Americans are expected to pay out $1000 for a new Iphone. The Apple workers in China aren't the biggest consumer of Apple products. It is the American consumer.
This video is totally misleading. I'm a chinese. I as a consumer don't feel any bad about Apple or any US company in China. The only thing Apple did wrong maybe their products are not as advance as before. I was in Shenzhen a few weeks ago. Huawei has 100's of shops all busy. The Apple store was looking empty. This was before the trade war even warmed up. A production line equipment supplier told me the slowdown at Foxconn suppliers was effecting her business as well. I cannot confirm but I heard the refurbishment phone business is not even bothering to tool up for copy parts. Go there and have a look in the electronics HQB area, its nothing to do with Trump. I bought a Huawei X8 does all I need a phone to do and more at $200.

Foxconn can retool to manufacture for domestic brands. In any case Foxconn had tried to produce in the US but the results are far less than satisfactory because of US worker just isn't ready to pull in the overtime needed to meet schedule and Foxconn is moving production back to China. All China had to do to kill Apple is to make Tencent and Alibaba removed support for Tencent pay and Alipay from Apple's app store as nobody in China will buy a phone that doesn't support Tencent pay and Alipay. Thirdly it's nearly impossible to find another contract manufacturer that can replace Foxconn at least not in the next 5 years. There is a billion smartphone users in China so just manufacturing for the domestic market is already big enough for Foxconn. China is also the top trading partner with more countries in the world than the US. They are quite fragile, I haven't used my iPad for almost one year and now I cannot turn it on or charge it. I can never get comfortable using iOS, mainly because I cannot manage and transfer my files as freely as in Windows or Android. I regret buying one too many apple device.

The real solution to solve the US economic issue is by investing in the infrastructure and clean energy and many other new manufacturing industries, that can bring a lot of jobs! Well, as a Chinese, The major reason for me not to buy an iPhone. Less innovation, less improvement, fewer features and unreasonable price with the stupid notch design. Especially, the Camera and battery life suck. Meanwhile, there are plenty of options out there with Android system. Good features, good looking, good UI optimization, good camera, good battery life, and affordable price. Should I buy a $1500 dollar phone for novel reading, texting with someone, watching videos and web browsing? Definitely not. Totally not worth it. Apple's marketing strategy is making it fail.

Apple outsources the manufacturing to China. There should be high tariffs on Apple Products. They are an American company who takes advantage of foreign workers who are willing to work for pennies on the dollar. That might be a good wage there, but America has workers who have much higher living cost. We have workers who need jobs to buy Apple products. But we Americans can't all find jobs because Apple is outsourcing their labor to China. Give Apple incentive to hire American Workers over Chinese workers. We have families to support also. We can't compete with workers who are being paid $1 hour. But Americans are expected to pay out $1000 for a new Iphone. The Apple workers in China aren't the biggest consumer of Apple products. It is the American consumer.

I'm a chinese. I as a consumer don't feel any bad about Apple or any US company in China. The only thing Apple did wrong maybe their products are not as advance as before. I mean, they spent too much resource on commercial ads, but not on R&D.`

I was in Shenzhen a few weeks ago. Huawei has 100's of shops all busy. The Apple store was looking empty. This was before the trade war even warmed up. A production line equipment supplier told me the slowdown at Foxconn suppliers was effecting her business as well. I cannot confirm but I heard the refurbishment phone business is not even bothering to tool up for copy parts. Go there and have a look in the electronics HQB area, its nothing to do with Trump. I bought a Huawei X8 does all I need a phone to do and more at $200.
