What is known is that when Civil War happened during the Jin Dynasty, after Three Kingdoms era, Wen Yang(and his entire family) was ordered to be put to death by a relative of Zhuge Dan(I think it was his relative) under false charges. It was a murder for revenge and to remove a rival as Wen Yang was a General with important victories under his belt as he was mainly used to crush rebellions or tribes that were a threat which made him popular.
Historically (or in the novel, I forgot), many would consider that it is posisble that he is an equal to Zhao Yun. He fought a draw with Deng Ai. Deng Ai fought to a draw with Jiang Wei. And Jiang Wei fought to a stalemate with Zhao Yun.
Yeah, Wen Yang's prowess in battle, as well as his bravery and exploits were all compared to those of Zhoa Yun, they even wrote poems about it. Not much is known of him after zhuge dans rebellion, but he is definitely worthy of musuo status, and he rocks.
It's a bit of both, but you'll be able to unlock the majority of a kingdom's characters simply by finishing the story once. Certain characters requires playing through the alternate IF storyline, which is unlocked by fulfilling specific requirements in certain stages.
I forgot to mention you can easily just use 2x Javelins (his EX) in place of the boomerang. C1 -> dash works quite literally the same, which also makes the Javelin one of the most versatile secondary weapon.
His moveset is good, especially considering he's shadow sprint type. C1 alone makes him very versatile in terms of combos. He can do an infinite storm rush combo (storm rush > C1 > dash > storm rush), which can only be done by only one other character I know of (Da Qiao). Again, the only drawback I can see is that his moveset is much more difficult to use than others. You have to know how to use it to be able to take advantage of all the combos and strengths it has to offer.

Since I haven't played this game yet I can say with certainty that they did but aparantly most(hopefully every)characters have there own unique weapon(or style). But then another character could use their moveset as well too which I agree that that's so stupid. If this game became more like Warriors Orochi, that would be awesome. Because then, it would be a different character switched out then they're using their own unique moveset.
i know this is going to be a stupid question for some, but for me it always makes a difference. How do you get more characters? is it like 7 where you would do said characters story, or like 6 where you have to do special battle objectives
All weapons can become a little more difficult to use when you increase their attack speed, i.e. they are harder to control. It's true with Wen Yang's weapon as well.
Can someone help me how I can unlock the characters? For example when I complete wu story do I unlock all wu characters? Or is there a specific way? PLEASE HELP!!!!!
idk but from my experience, wen yang's 2nd ex atk hits quite decent number of enemied and the damage is gr8 too. i prefer to use induction rather than whirlwind
Where did you read/hear that? I would like to see it myself, as I think wen yang is pretty cool, for being so underused or at least mentioned very little in the novel.
when i first saw all the characters, this guy caught my eye and i was thinking that he really does feel and look like Jin armies version of Zhao Yun... i may have a new favourite character? :D
Christian Colde In vanilla DW8, Cyclone is good for everything. Just don't try to spam his C2 because it doesn't carry element. He doesn't have many multi-hit elemental attacks, regrettably.
I'd rather use 2 or 3 seperate characters rather than one and then having to use 2 weapons when one weapon doesn't match their style. I'd go Wen Yang + Ma Chao all day (rather than either or with each other's weapon).
meh i think you're being nice on him. id say he's the best worst character. hes still pretty fun to use but a lot of his moves arent good. a nice combo i use with him is with the dragon spear out use c1 , air musou, then air attack. both satisfying and suiting for him.
Both Resident Evil and Sillent Hill are on the fence for me. Atleast Sillent Hilll gave it a shot with Downpour, but it didn't have a strong enough story or characters for me. The less that is said about RE 6 the better.
Why would he? Zhao Yun's children weren't all that grand. Wen Yang is the son of Wen Qin and is the second coming of Zhao Yun despite never meeting Zhao Yun or having any relation to him. Thus proving that blood is pointless as Zhao Yun's children were bad despite Zhao Yun being amazing and Wen Yang was amazing while his father was mediocre.
