Yeah I could definitely spend a lot of time in those woods! They look like a fairytale! Obviously I’d hope not to hear strange noises and see shadows though 😂 the monuments are so cool!! I’d love to go inside the cave! Great video and I love how detailed and helpful it is for people planning a trip there.
This looks incredible. This kind of trip is right up my street. A bit of history a bit of myth and secrecy. Just awesome. And beautifully shot as usual. 🖤
Thank you! I would never normally wish for bad weather (and it was a lovely sunny day), but I bet this place looks amazing when it's really foggy / gloomy.
This is awesome. I can't actually believe we have never been there. This is absolutely beautiful and I love the breath in advice! I literally do this all the time while Ash is driving! haha. What fantastic history behind it too. Wow. Thanks for sharing guys.
Haha yeah there was some genuine breathing in - I managed to scratch my car having the pretty much drive into a bush at one point 😂 Thanks for watching!
It's definitely an interesting spot! I'm not sure that there is much more information available about it really, but you could find out more about a visit to the area by visiting the swinton estate website www.swintonestate.com/ Thank you for watching! 🙂
Off the beaten track bit beautiful place once you found it I rode there a few times years ago and I actually had my dinner on the alter without knowing about devil worshipping on the same place I ate my lunch lol I heard about it afterwards and also heard that a man lived out there for 7 years eating mushrooms and other stuff and went totally insane
Some ravers had a rave there some years ago loads from Manchester and other places gathered and music and off there heads but they disrespected the place and broke trees down set fires and other wrongful things that is so horrible to do this in such a special 1off place that sees thousands of visitors each year from everywhere despite rumours that there's ghosts there but even if there is they did not bother me
Yes, as much as I will never complain about a sunny day there was a part of me that had wished the weather was a bit dark or foggy for a bit of a creepy feel 😄 Glad you noticed the birds... I spent ages in various spots standing really quietly trying to record them without accidentally sneezing or making the ground crunch, haha! Thanks for watching guys!
@@OurTravelPlace haha i love hearing about the behind the scenes effort that went in to capturing the footage that you want. I can sure relate to that!
Why do you think the hermit wasn't allowed to speak to or see anyone for years? Not even go for a hair cut. Don't you think it may be something to do with the horrors he witnessed there?
Interesting place! We've been to Stonehenge which was big. This one is in the bush with trees. I can see where you would expect it to be creepy. Did you go in the cave? I enjoyed your info commentary. Thanks for sharing! 😀👍
Yes we went in the cave! (it's only small). I took the camera in there but you wouldn't have been able to see anything 🙂 I'm glad you enjoyed the commentary! Thanks for watching
Beautiful 😍 Loved the video. Nice music too. Well done. 💪 Thanks for sharing. Subscribed to follow your adventures #480. We make adventure videos too, I hope our channels grow together. 👍
We would be very happy to stay at that campsite! One of the things that captivates me about this temple is that it's not perfectly landscaped around it. Love to see the ferns and tall grass occupying all the nooks and crannies. Some spooky stories... but I agree, it comes across as being peaceful.
Looks like it's been a place of Pagean worship. A Siva temple. Definitely not 1800s.. it should around 15000 years or so.. Carbon dating records are essential.
Thanks for watching! If you're looking for more ideas of things to do in the area then we have a UK playlist here: ua-cam.com/play/PLklu2vvKTLyrtwkUU1aQI1R_ABCYBmLBH.html
It depends on what sort of camping you are after. There is a campsite where we parked, although that's yurts etc rather than tent camping. As far as I know there isn't anywhere you can take a tent in the immediate area but it's the Yorkshire Dales so a campsite won't be far! 🙂 Thanks for watching
Oooo! I'm itchy to travel to places with history! We don't have anywhere quite like that here...We booked a flight in January 2020 for February 2021... but I'm feeling less and less confident. Do you get snow in Yorkshire? We are looking for a wintery alternative if plans fall through.
Yes Yorkshire gets snow, but it's a bit hit and miss when or for how long. We usually get some, but I would consider Yorkshire a particularly snowy destination, if that makes sense! Where is your Feb flight? We were hoping to rearrange our cancelled Belgium trip for December but now I'm thinking the chances are very slim....
@@OurTravelPlace the flight was to Japan to see the north of Honshu and Hokkaido.. but I really don't know if I should book anything like accommodation
Did you know it's Yorkshire Day today? Happy Yorkshire Day lol! Great coverage of the Druid's Temple. We'd been to Ripon before but not seen this, so thank you :-) Just subbed - have a great weekend. Best, Holly, Clive and Claudia at Fern the Camper
I'm afraid we haven't camped in the area ourselves so don't have any places we could suggest from experience. Sorry I can't be of more help. Hope you find somewhere! 🙂
Very interesting Stonehenge-like temple. You are right, even though not that old, it is very mysterious-looking with all the growth around it. Thanks for sharing and have a great weekend 😀👍
OMG! It really seems like Stonehenge haha! Really cool rock formations and didn't even know that this place existed! It's just so interesting to think that somebody went through the trouble of lifting the rocks and stones and making sort of a monument stacking it all! Can't wait to check out the other videos from this series
Such a blessing to see places I may never make it to..Wonderful footage...Thumbs up from me! :) Thanks a million for bringing us along on this fabulous tour :) Keep it up your good work! Greetings from Poland 💕💕
I knew there are plenty of prehistoric Stonehenge-style heritage sites around Britain, but I haven’t heard about this one. Looks like an interesting place to visit. Thanks for another great informative video! 👍 Also, thanks for the driving tips. Might come handy when next time in the UK. 😀
And the story behind it is so interesting! Driving in the countryside can really keep you on your toes 😅 We even had a deer run out in front of the car for some added fear! Thanks for watching 😊
There is lots of nature there my dad is an agent for the estate and there are grouse, squirrels and depending on how far you go you could see the roe deer. there is fishing ,a hotel to stay at. it is down to road from the bivouac a clay shoot grouse shoot a pheasant shoot also the woods is a biking trail and a cafe at the car park.
@@spaghetti2396 We did actually see a deer - it ran in front of the car! It gave me a fright, haha! It does look like a lovely area to stay, there seems to be plenty to do around there. Thanks for sharing this information!
Our Travel Place your welcome the deer are very nice to see and I am not sure but I think you can go up to some tame ones by the castle/hotel that the game keeper feeds.

Woww.... i never heard about this place before. Thank you for sharing. Like 20 + full view
Have an awesome day!
Thank you! Yes, I'm not sure that it's that well known really, certainly not compared to some other spots around the dales. Thanks for watching!

Beautiful place, I remember the roads being nearly the size of a footpath.
oh my gosh yes! And for some bonus fear a deer bolted in front of our car at one point too (which was equally cool and terrifying) 🙈
Very cool and super interesting!. Where can i find more info on this!? thanks! :)

We love unusual places! This did seem quite tranquil with the sounds of the birds...it would be interesting to see how different it looks in fog.

This was made by a local landlord right 200 year ago .because people didn't had job so he tried to help them ?
Yes, correct 👍
