If I get a RCM from a junked car and its the same exact part number does it still have to be programmed to my car or can I just remove, replace and plug in?
Yes make sure the RCM part number is same. Then you will need to program/calibrate the passenger weight seat sensor to the RCM. If your vehicle was in an accident/collision and you send your original airbag control module (RCM) to be reset, then there is no programing or calibration needed when it is installed back in the same vehicle. MyAirbags.com can reset your airbag control module.
Happy to hear that, our service is to clear crash history/crash data that is stored in RCM Restraint Control Module after vehicle was in an accident/collision. Also, check your seat belts to make sure they work good and are not locked. Here is more info: www.myairbags.com/product-category/repair-return/airbag-module-reset/
If you do get a used one from junk yard, make sure tge car was hit in the back. Because then the airbag module should still be good. Also make sure the replacement part number from the junk yard has the same part number as your original part number. You can always send your original RCM airbag control module to MyAirbags.com to have it reset. Also check your seat belts to make they are good and not locked. If they are they will need tk be replaced as well or sent to myairbags.com for repair. I hope this answered yoir question.
