Did you ever sort out that issue with the clutch grip rocking forward and back (see 4:40)? Not having it firmly locked in place would be annoying to say the least. He cranked that housing down so tight I thought it would strip out.
Any bike costing 20 grand that has pretensions of being a touring bike should come with heated grips as standard not as a $300 dollar option. Imagine going to buy a new car and the sales guy telling you that you have to pay extra for a heater. Ridiculous.
I agree that a touring bike should come with these comforts-not sure if they do. The Sport Glide is considered a softail cruiser, not a touring bike. I have close to 62k miles on mine from touring, but it was not designed for that purpose. A couple of simple after market modifications - new seat, high windshield, and heated grips make it more comfortable-but still no where close to the experience I would have on on of their touring bikes.
You will definitely enjoy simply turning a dial to warm your hands.. I saw that AdvanBlack now sells a front crash bar for softail models to allow lower faring installs. Basically, you can add lower touring farings. May look weird on your bike, but might add some useful protection on highway travels.
Thanks for the vid as this is exactly my bike. I just wish there was more on the connections as he only does one and did not remove the tank so I’d be keen to see all the connections. thanks tho 😊
You're welcome. Love that you have a Sport Glide--it is an awesome motorcycle! One thing thst i did not know at the time if this video---the Grips definitely increased the vibration felt in the bars.
18-later Softail® models require separate purchase of Electrical Connection Kit P/N 69201750 that links them both together. I believe it came with instructions. The bigger issue we had that I did not film was how to remove the weight in the handlebar on the clutch side.
I'm a little puzzled. I have a couple of motorcycles and "Sometimes" ride in the colder weather. I have a pair of RST battery heated gloves and they are just super! I can't see that heated grips could be better. What was your "Dislike" with the gloves and did you actually find heated grips better? 🤨
I haven’t found heated gloves that fit my long skinny lady hands comfortably-so with my heated grips and hand guards I don’t need them unless the grips stop working. The struggle for women finding properly fitting gear is REAL!
@@ShesShiftingGears Thanks for the reply, I didn't understand your problem at first. I suffer a little bit with arthritis so find having cold hands, puts me off riding on cold days. I'm pleased the grips work for you! 👍👍
That’s a shame, I’m at a cross roads installing my own heated grips, and I was watching intently as the tech was about to install the accessory harness, and the video jumped to lubing the bag locks. 🙁
Hello! I'm from Brazil and I want to install it on my Fat Boy 2022. Is it necessary to buy the harness separately or is it already included in the handlet package? Thank you.
I love the fairing on the Lowrider ST and thought it would be my next Harley. When I test ride it the air intake jammed into my shin, so it was a no-go, but I am seriously considering reaching out to Blockhead’s garage in Florida to put the ST fairing on my sport glide…..
Man 'o man what a pain to install those! 🤪 Worth every penny to have a professional do it! Please report back on how well they work for you as I've ummed and awed about heated grips but have just stuck with my winter riding gloves (so far).
Hi Paul-so far I love them. There are 6 temperature settings - the highest setting gets really hot and the lowest is just barely warm. I’m riding to Canada next month and will report back on how they measure up to heated gloves.
Thanks for watching and subscribing! 😁 I LOVE my hand guards. I got them from Memphis Shades. Complete game changer! And now paired with heated grips I could not be happier.

Hi Adam-no. I am used to it now, but there is still a slight amount of play in the grip.
@@ShesShiftingGears Thanks for that reply. I have the same issue and I was hopeful you solved it. Ride safe!
I have no play in mine, I have everything in place but where to plug into ....?

Any bike that is classed as a cruiser should have cruise control as standard. That's most Harleys!
I have heated grips on my 2020 Sportglide.
Love them!

It is sooooo nice just twisting the knob to turn on heat. I’ll check out the lowers, not sure it’s what I would want but interested to look.
Apparently, AdvanBlack only make them for Softails up through 2017. My frame is different 😔

Too bad you didn't show how he removed the pins from the connector or where the connectors plugged in - the rest is obvious...

You didn't actually show where to plug the grips in, did he use the harness?
It plugs into the harness

Battery died :(

Hi! In the USA, I had to buy the harness separately.
I like the sport glide.. but I like the lowrider st fairing… .. but the sport glide is kinda like a touring bike

I wish you could have spent time on the grips, showing them mounted and the heated operation, just a little more would have made it an excellent video
I may do an updated video that includes that 🤔 I agree it would improve the video. Thank you for watching and your feedback.

Hi. Just wondering how long the install took. Thanks Alan.
Question - with that amount of miles you’ve ridden have you had any engine problems from the infamous “blow by” issue?
The only issue I have had, is the front disk warped. My engine is stock and I run synthetic without issue. I am religious about my service intervals.
How do you like those hand guards? New sub😎

Weird that first clip was a mirror image.
I know what a pain this install is.
Eagle eye Paul! Yes, nothing easy about this install.
If you don't explain et show clearly.. why post?
It plugs into the harness.
