    Yo been watching your videos for a bit now, I’ve been keeping fish for under a year. I’ve been able to successfully breed albino Cory’s and Venezuelan Cory’s. I have some gold lasers that I got a few months ago but I’m not having any luck breeding them yet. Can’t wait for the next video!

    Your videos are amazing! I just started breeding some zebra danios (glofish) and I'm currently growing them out with fry powder (new life spectrum) I've seen you have also used fry powders with some fry, how do you determine whether to use paremecium or fry powder? have you had issues with fry powder in the past? e.g. some fry just don't eat it at all?

    • @MakeMoreFish
      @MakeMoreFish  Рік тому +1

      That's kind of a judgement call. I'm not sure I've dealt with fry that would refuse to eat powder, though it's possible. I look at their behavior. Are they moving around looking for food or are they more careful, waiting for something edible to pass in front of them? How much powder do I need to spread around just to get them to eat a few particles? We always want to limit, when possible, the amount of uneaten (non-live) food. The great thing about paramecia is that they will live until eaten. There's zero excess food to rot and pollute the enclosure. Sometimes they feel necessary or at least very helpful, other times not. It's just a nice option to have in certain situations.

    I absolutely love your breeding videos always such great info! May I suggest a fish for you to work on in the future? Aphyosemion striatum the red striped killi. I got 2 pairs from the wet spot that I’ve been working with I’ve gotten fry but I’m small numbers so far. I’d be curious to see you try them and your strategies! Either way keep up the great videos

    • @MakeMoreFish
      @MakeMoreFish  Рік тому +2

      Are they mop or substrate spawners? I'm raising some Gardneri Killis right now, that might be somewhat close. I'm sure I'll try other species.

    • @SlickNick3
      @SlickNick3 Рік тому +1

      Oh very cool! I’m honestly totally unsure they seem to do a bit of both. I had them in a tank with moss and a mop together I saw them breeding in the moss but I’ve also seen them with the mop as well. I’ve only been able to get about 3 to 4 fry each time. I’ve tried putting a mop with the 4 adults for a week feeding them heavily with bbs and then pulling the mop and I’ve also tried moving a male and female to a separate tank feeding them for a week and then removing them back to their main tank. Still only 3 to 4 fry lol

  • @lemonlizard1
    @lemonlizard1 Рік тому

    Great video! Have you considered trying green neons? They're trickier to breed than normals and there is also very little info on breeding.

    • @MakeMoreFish

      Not seriously, at least not yet. I would do regular neons first and then maybe

  • @kenjiro2676
    @kenjiro2676 Рік тому

    There was a youtuber, I think he goes by Aussie Aquatics, and he kept emperors in a heavily planted tank. The emperors bred on their own, his population grew relatively quickly.
    This put me under the impression that they may be pretty easy to breed.

    • @MakeMoreFish
      @MakeMoreFish  Рік тому

      I believe it. I've had a similar experience so far. A fry or two pop up every now and then even in tanks where I wouldn't expect it. I would categorize as them as fairly easy but at least in my experience not especially prolific. I want to hear from some other people if they've ever had large numbers of fry come out of a single female in a single spawn.

    Hey man, in what temperature and acidity did you spawn them? Ive had a lot of difficulties with tetra spieces in terms of spawning

    • @MakeMoreFish
      @MakeMoreFish  Рік тому

      77F and pH in the high 7s. Emperors were not picky in my experience. I expect many other tetras want softer and more acidic water.

    • @MakeMoreFish
