Scuf has the biggest problems with stick drift, beacuse of their socalled "Fricton Rings" that actually shreds the outer sides of the stick and that dust falls on the sensors... Talking from my own experience!

Yeah, I have one Impact for about year now. What a terrible quality. Don't get me wrong, it is responsive, which is useless since it is already falling apart. Bad bad bad materials. ...and it cost me more than the PS4 console.

      @x3mSK 4 роки тому +1

@@Tstinzy Sony will be introducing their very own and redesigned Dualshock for PS5 (which looks promising as of this moment), no need for them to get involved with third parties. It will be entirely up to CORSAIR to pick up the pace and push the boundaries (and hopefully introducing USB-C and better quality materials for their Scuf controllers). I switched to Nacon Ultimate recently. Still getting used to it but as far as the quality of the materials goes I am happy. ...and it was half the price.

Initially, when my scuf controller arrived it took a month at least it wouldn't even turn o , I sent it back and a month later it came back finally working, 2 years later the scuf 4ps infinity pro honestly feels brand new whenever I use it however I recently changed the analogue sticks for better performance , analogue drift can easily be fixed as you can take out the joystick and clean it, the quality control isn't the best but I have had reall good experiences with my scuf

Here's my experience with Scuf controllers: Timeline is important.
December 2019: First off, I was encouraged to buy one because my friend got one back in 2015 and it still works just fine. Aside from slight stick drift. I borrowed said controller for couple of days to try it out before committing to the $200+ investment. It was great.
December 12, 2019: I placed my order for a Scuf Infinity 4PS Pro.
January 2nd, 2020: - I received it 3 weeks later. It worked phenomenally for exactly ONE week. I opened the box on a Thursday afternoon, and the following Thursday the following happened:
January 9th, 2020: First, the left paddle stopped responding and with it was the front button as well. I was mid-game and lost the (X) function completely. Managed to quit the game and turn off the controller. When I turned it back on the only functioning buttons were the OPTIONS/SHARE. I contacted Scuf, they took back the controller, fixed it and sent it back. This process took 3 weeks.
February 5th, 2020: I received back the controller
March 2020: This time the right paddle starts malfunctioning, it would click but no input registers most of the time. This didn’t bother me much to send it back again. I was frustrated, but at least it was working if I press hard enough.
The left paddle been working fine but it wasn’t clicking, just a touch would suffice.
April 22, 2020: ALL HELL BROKE LOOSE:
The right paddle is completely out of order, and with it the face button.
The left paddle was registering input while I’m only holding the controller. Any pressure on it and it registers (X).
Even when I completely removed both paddles, pressing the thumbsticks (L3/R3) would activate the actuators on the back.
Eventually, it happened again, the only functioning buttons I have now are Home, OPTIONS and SHARE.
April 24, 2020: I contacted Scuf, they’re currently not accepting repair requests due to the COVID-19 situation.
Moral of the story: If you’re ever thinking about getting a Scuf controller, just DON’T.
*NOTE: I think the older models were better; My friend’s controller had different paddles, with screws.
Great channel/content btw, keep it goin.
    Stay safe yall.

the problem with the infinity is a square little plate that can shift inside the controller, ive opened it and it doesnt sit flush on a cutout so tbh even if shaking the controller eventually itll fall outta place but the impact is way way more durable from my experience and i got 2 impacts, my infinitys left paddle went to junk in 1 month

Your March update is where my controller is personally I've had mine for a while since August 3rd of last year and had problems with in 2 months a personally like the scuff but it really ticks me off when it doesn't work i could make a very long list of issues but I have to ask is it common for the paddles to just fuck up out of nowhere
Edit: I have the scuff impact dont know if that changes anything

    • @LuisTrey
      @LuisTrey 4 роки тому +2

Trust me, the older Scuf controllers aren’t any better! I bought the original Scuf 4PS in Stealth Black back in 2016. The one that you could option with the OEM PS4 thumbsticks, without the rings to remove the thumbsticks, and the paddles with the screws you’re talking about. To begin with, the paddles snapped in half about 4 or 5 times throughout these past 3 years since I didn’t start using the controller until November 2017 when Call of Duty WWII released. After all those times of replacing the paddles the holes where the screws go in started widening which led to the screws not even being able to screw in and hold the paddles anymore. I just gave up and started playing without them. The buttons at the bottom still work, but I have to press them with my actual finger. Just recently my right thumbstick started drifting. On top of that Scuf has the audacity to put a security screw so you won’t be able to open the controller. Which by the way I managed to do! I propped up open the controller a few weeks back to see if I could put components of the DualShock 4 V2 CUH-ZCT2 since that controller has the option to be wired when connected to USB for better response time and has the blue LED bar on the touchpad. But, I couldn’t manage to do it since both controllers are built different internally. I was on the verge of buying a Vantage 2 last week. But, didn’t pull the trigger since the PS4’s is at the end of its life cycle, there is no point of buying a DualShock 4 anymore. Point is that they have terrible build quality! I like how the controllers have a softshell touch to them and how you can configure them with colored buttons. But, with the build quality they provide, it isn’t worth it. Hopefully Corsair can get on their asses and make them build better controllers!

If you play on xbox just get the Elite 2. Take it from my personal experience after receiving my scuf prestige it only took one month until I realized the HORRIBLE build quality and my friend that ordered a scuf impact for ps4 that was sent back right away and came back completely worse and not functioning at all. So after wasting 250$ just one month it took for me to just get what my gut told me to get. Dont let the “scuf hype” fool ya lol and save your money

I bought my scuf way back in 2014 with the scuf pro. I’ve been using it ever since. The first problem occurred a year and a half after I got the controller. The micro USB port not longer worked. No problem for me I just bought a charger that charges it by the rear of the controller. The next problem that occurred was stuck drift about a year ago. The reason I like my scuf is because of the feel of the paddles. The reason I don’t like my scuf, unreliable.

So I bought a scuf controller 2 years ago and it still works, however the amount of drift I have is insanely bad and my triggers have become way to sensitive due to it being broken. I play games like call of duty and Shooter games. And with ps5 soon coming up I was thinking of also buying a new pro controller, my first thought was scuf since I've already bought one and I'm moderately happy with it. But also because I don't trust other brands that aren't as well knowed. So my question is what controller should I buy to play shooter games on playstation

Air I totally agree with you on Battle Beaver Customs. I’ve used them since BO3. After burning through 2 Xbox Elite controllers I tried a battle and was so impressed that I bought 2 of my friends each one of there own. They are by far the best custom controller I feel on the market. I mean seriously if you go with a basic model simple hair trigger, adjustable thumb sticks,2 buttons on bottom, thumb stick tension, no remapping and you will spend about 200.00 buck 50 more than a Elite and it will last you way longer than any other controller, so great job on all your content you put out Air and keep up the good work.

I got into elite/custom controllers a few years ago through a company called TheControllerShop because I heard horrible things about SCUF over the years from media and personal friends so I steered clear, Battlebeaver was going to be my second option, Evil Controllerz I just didn't care for the price or the customization options, Aim was really small back then I believe so I didn't feel there was enough feedback to justify a purchase so I settled happily on TCS because I preferred (and still prefer) buttons over paddles and their customization was exactly what I was looking for from a plethora of paints, designs, they had actual hair triggers not some figity trigger "stops," solid magnetic interchangeable thumbsticks, decals, writings, accessories, customer service, etc. I ordered my controller which ended up being just below the 400$ mark before the discount/sale.
Got the controller from TCS and absolutely loved it. Used it months of 5-8 hour sessions on PS4 playing competitive Siege (Platinum/Diamond player) and everything was amazing. Had a couple issues with the charging cables and they sent me 3 replacements for free with no hassle within a week. The bad part started kicking in of the back buttons caving in. E-mailed TCS with proof, my data, and situation and they asked for it back to repair it no problem. Sent it in on their dime, got it repaired, it came back after a month longer than expected, and everything was fine until they caved in again. I had to repreat the process with no argument on their end, this time though, it was 8-10 months of back and forth e-mails of trying to get my controller back and it not being repaired because their parts weren't in, or their staff were being moved around or fired, or their patent/process changed, etc. etc. The woman I e-mailed the entire time finally said that the owner of the company was going to be repairing my controller and that it should be back within a couple weeks...Months passed with no replies of my constant increasingly worrying e-mails. I look around to find out others were in the same or worse boat (paying for the product, getting charged, and never receiving it). I finally find out that the company sadly went under and the owner just took people's money and bailed and left the website up and social media up and functioning enough to receive payments. Don't believe me, look up TheControllerShop on Facebook, their page and trails were still then when I checked up last August.
I was heartbroken and out 300+ on a controller I loved the design and functionality; shit I really miss my hair triggers. I was still playing Siege and itching for that extra precision and control I had so I looked around for a replacement after sucking up the loss and decided to give SCUF a chance after seeing their Vantage commercial and digging the design, changeable faceplate, side axle buttons, and seemingly stronger paddles. I ordered one and received it far earlier than expected the late August/early September of their launch year...yes that meant I dealt with the stick drift that honestly only cropped up after 3 months of grinding Dark Matter/Nuclears on Black Ops IV. E-mailed SCUF with my situation, proof, data, etc. and they took the controller in no problem, had it fixed (and by fixed I mean they literally sent me a brand new controller with a different serial number) and returned about a week later. Had the same issued this same after a month so we went through the routine and I waited patiently as I did the entire custom controller experience. Got the controller back about a couple weeks later within the same week they released their firmware update to eliminate stick drift and luckily my controller got it flashed onto it and still to this day and year I've had zero drift from my nearly 365 days of 5-8 hours sessions.
I had minor issues here and there of the thumbsticks wearing away two times, the original charging cable fraying on the inside, and the next one breaking and they've sent me *free* replacements every time and the women that helped me out were as pleasant, actually understanding, complient, and as human as can be surprisingly every time.
Do I believe the Vantage 1 is the best controller? Hell no.
Is it a damn solid one? Hell yes, and for a relatively fair pricepoint especially around predictable sales times.
Is SCUF a good company? In my experience yes on customer service and even honestly pricing as my Vantage I ended up paying only $210 I want to say after opting for a metallic red finish on the faceplate.
Do I miss or prefer my TCS controller? Yes and no, I still prefer back buttons, analog sticks next to each other instead of the XBOX layout, the true custom color, grip, username decal, and magnetic thumbsticks, and actual hair triggers that have next to no travel (sucks for racing games or vehicles), but I really enjoy the side axle buttons on the Vantage especially for BR's like Apex (Ranked Series 1 Diamond, Series 2 Pred', Series 3 Split 1 Masters) where I constantly press square for looting and reloading or using my abilities on the left side button (even though it's right next to L1 that travel time makes a difference and allows me to focus my finger soley on the ADS bumper), the paddles on the exterior (that I've had zero problems with, thought I'd break'em but they are solid) are easy to press for constant actions and the inside works better for less heavily used actions such as switching a weapon, the ergnomic shape is quite comfortable and sweat resistant, I really enjoy the design and feel of their SCUF thumbsticks (concave on left, convex on right at both normal heights) until they start to erode away from 3-4 months of heavy used, etc.
Things I would improve on the Vantage would be to ditch the trigger stops and go for adjustable trigger tension so allow for both actual hair triggers and the ability to still have travel for racing/vehicle games, put some slight rubber gripping on the removable R2/L2 buttons, use a sturdier material for the thumbsticks as it is relatively short timing to run through the rubber on the outer ring, and allow for color customization of all face buttons (share, start, d-pad, etc.) as that was the only driving thing that tempted me to want a Vantage 2 was the gray face buttons looked clean compared to the slate gray/silver they used standard on Vantage 1.
All in all from this long-a** ramble of my surprisingly positive story of SCUF, I really enjoy my Vantage and had no troubles that weren't rapidly and hassle-freely fixed within a week. I can't attest for any products pre-Vantage as personally they look too frankenstien-esqe for me and are pricey, but as for the Vantage it's a damn fine controller that has allowed me to get a constantly noticeable and smoother edge in Apex and Siege.
I only see better things to come once next gen' launches this year and Corsair/SCUF make a Vantage 3 for the Dualsense era of controllers.
Side-note: if anyone wants to discuss more or play Apex, etc. hit me up on Reddit at u/-BINK2014- or on PSN/Playstation at BINK2014 and I should be down.
Have a good day everyone! 🤙

When I started seeing bad reviews after I bought my scuf I got scared but after using it almost everyday for 5-6 hour sessions I rlly hve nothing bad to say about it and don’t see the problems other people say they hve wth it, not saying that they’re wrong just I don’t experience those same problems. Though build quality is important, having a product that last for several years will reduce sales and sales are high for Scuf due to the recognizable brand/name, that's why Corsair bought them. I don't claim to understand how the market and sales work but since controllers are one of the most beat to death electronics today they'll break down faster and that fact alone helps disguise the low quality of the product to the average consumer and so they keep coming back to that one brand that they're used to 😄

Then I moved to nacon revolution unlimited. The nacon is still perfect a year later. I even modded it myself with custom trigger stops. But I have to say that I'm transitioning to PC this year instead of going next gen console, and I have recently got a xim apex based on your vids on it. I'm now training on keyboard and mouse while I save up for my pc build. And there is no question in my mind that as more people move to K&m on console we will see the demise of controllers all together for Fps gamers. K&m is just superior. I've had several elite controllers and the astro c40 is by far the best feeling controller to me. But I've been through 2 of them and both had stick drift within a week of using both and switched to new sticks...same issue. I switched to the vantage 2 and have had zero issues with them. I had a vantage 1 that was cheap feeling and absolute garbage. And for the love of god all elite controller manufacturers....please please please make sure the connector is surrounded by some sort of "holder" or "reinforcement" (i.e scuf vantage 1& 2). I've had so many elite controllers fail just because the cord gets the point where you can't use it anymore (and I know there are ways to "fix" this issue) because it won't stay in.

@@wolf99hd i bought my own analog sticks from evil mod with pro tension and havent had stick drift. but once in a while i have to reset it with the mapping software on my pc because im unable to sprint while playing COD; or just press and hold the reset button on the back and it goes back to normal. this doesnt happen consistently enough to be that big of issue, at least not yet.

I got my brother the scuf vantage 2 because all of our controllers were dying. We got it and honestly nothing has gone wrong. It’s been around 6 months and he plays constantly 24/7 and it’s good because when the sticks were down like they are always going to do especially how hard he plays we just replace them. He has also gotten way better from his time playing and the extra inputs dominating his friend group. There was a issue where when he had it on wired it did disconnect but we fixed because it was a cord issue. Hope that the controller continues to work well.

Watched so many videos before purchasing my scuf. Especially yours. When first bought it I had stick drift. Sent it in and had it returned to Canada within a month. Came back perfect. Think this was February 2018 and I’m still using it. I wanna get another one but now I guess wait till scuf/Corsair release one

I've got a SCUF Impact for about 1.5 years now.
I'll say this. Once you master the additional triggers on the back, and if you reroute the buttons well, you can really dominate. The controller is also larger and feels more steady in your hand which is a plus.
Nevertheless, something that infuriates me is the build quality of the controller and how easily it breaks. It has broken on many occasions for me now, even after just the slightest drop to the ground from not even knee height. The thumbsticks also wear away veeery easily and the triggers dislocate on many occasions.
I really hope the company will fix these issues since I am sure they are losing out a lot of customers due to this!

Scuf Vantage 2 here, had issues with the Vantage one purchased at GameStop. Controller did not stay connected to PS4 in either wired or wireless mode. I had bought the warranty, so I brought it back to redeem warranty and exchanged it for the Vantage 2. 6 months later and it still works great! I have put in hundreds and hundreds of hours (I believe at least 400 hours) on it, and my only issue has been I wore out a left analog stick (the stick itself, not the sensor. Call of duty tactical sprint created a flat spot at probably about 350 hours), and I broke one paddle off. I know they have a warranty on the paddles breaking, but for $13 I wasn’t about to deal with going through the warranty and having to wait more time for my paddles. Aside from this, it has been a great controller for me and I have no complaints!

Bought my first scuf in 2010, a wired black xb360 pad with 2 paddles and trigger stops, cost me like £60 directly from them (they were a tiny company then and not widely known) I heard about them through other players in EGL.
Since then I have owned multiple controllers for all platforms and never had one break on me without the fault being of my own doing.
I agree there will always be quality xo trol issues, but I guarantee a lot of people that complain about there controller breaking have been part of the cause but they will always say they took great care of it and never abused it.
