      It's fun to watch someone solve a puzzle, especially when they're this charismatic. Plus, you know he'll almost certainly solve it by the end of the video, so there's no frustration in not knowing if you'll solve it.

    From first glance I thought this would be another one of those 'hidden mechanism; smack a magnet out of place' type puzzles, but this one is actually cool. You can actually figure it out without having to guess some random positions.

    I was super confused at first, you actually taking it apart and explaining what is going on really helped me out there!
    I just want to add that I love your channel, listening to you makes me super happy, since your enjoyment really comes through! The way you speak and gesture just shows how much you love puzzling! And that just fills me with joy. I personally love myself some mental puzzling, I didn‘t expect I‘d ever be interested in actual puzzels, nor that there‘d be any that would catch my interest. Oh boy was I wrong, your channel will and has already helped me explore how amazing the craftsmanship and dedication on these things are! Thank you so much for being such a great channel, while youtube is drowning in boring clickbait and challenges. Redescovering your channel after a while really made my day! Also I remeber your april fools joke with the giraffe puzzle, really loved the way you pulled it off!
    Personally, would you mind leaving information on how long the certain puzzles take you in the video description? Something along „This puzzle took me around 3 hours to complete“ so I could quickly check in case that I’d have missed it when you mentioned it. But of course only if you want to. More of a personal thing I‘d love to know. I‘d keep watching your videos without it too though^^
    Much love and all the best wishes from a random swiss person from the internet!
    Edit: Is it weird to say that I like the way your hands look? I don‘t know, please just ignore this if it is 😂

    This is neat because you could give this to a kid (or student) you're trying to help learn how to solve puzzles with 3 different difficulty ratings. You could lock the first ball and have them solve it. Then lock the second and third balls to give increased difficulty and progressively improve problem-solving skills.

  • @pirobot668beta
    @pirobot668beta 6 років тому

    Aww, I was hoping it was a spin-free lock.
    Bearings in the lock are normally in center-ish, not letting anything happen.
    By spinning the device, the bearings are flung to the ends of the gizmo, either engaging with an un-locker mecahnism or simply getting out of the way of the moving parts.
    The bearing-track is designed where tilting the thing engages only one bearing at a time; spinning moves them both.

    • @ulyxi.e
      @ulyxi.e 6 років тому

      shinkus82 i agree

    • @Varksterable
      @Varksterable 6 років тому +2

      Problem is, though, any scale is completely subjective. What someone can do in 30 seconds may take someone else with completely different background/experience etc. hours.
      So trying to be more fine-grained with the scores is largely pointless. It can only ever be a *very* rough guide.
      I'd rather see a scale of 'it took me this long [time] to solve it.' Because then at least you can do some conversions yourself. i.e. I know my times at disassembly puzzles are [fraction] of Mr Puzzle times, so I can get a rough time I'd take. Or at least compare relative to other puzzles of similar types. Even then it'd still only be a very rough guide.
      Currently, this is mostly moot for me. I'm largely buying puzzles (thanks to this channel getting me hooked) based on the cleverness and aesthetics of them. But there will come a time where value for money becomes a factor too. So it'd be nice to have the solve times as a regular feature too, rather than something that's mentioned only occasionally.
