I always played d3 against the Caro-Kann and went for the Queen Trap after a Knight and a Bishop Sacrifice on f7 and g6 respectively. But today I learnt an even more solid trap. Thanks a lot Chessscape! You are the reason for my improvement in chess today! ❤️👍

    Title: Someone destroying Caro-Kann.
    Levy: spawns.
    Btw, great video as usual!

The tartakower variation of the caro-kann allows you to play aggressively (unless white plays a specific line) because you don't aim to immediately go to an endgame, instead creating very dangerous threats, and in that case the doubled f pawns turn out to not be a disadvantage (during the middlegame at least). The doubled pawns take control of more space around your king, and the dark squared bishop has a chance to develop more quickly. It's an amazing opening and gives you some serious attacking chances, so I think you should definitely check it out, maybe even in a video.

i meant for players between 500 and 1500, its better to choose standard positions with good structures
