Do you have online tutorial or video on what happens if one drive fails in a Raid1 configuration? ie: how do I know if one drive fails? What steps to take if a drive fails. If I replace the failed drive, how to make the unit copy the good drive over and not format/erase the good drive.

at 7:55 you show the button being pressed with the power disconnected. The documentation does NOT give clear instructions on how to process the RAID set up - so I don't know if I have a bad system (trying to configure for a new set of HDDs) or if I am doing it wrong.
Please advise or add a new video showing exactly how to set up/clear a configuration.

Wish you'd done a how to video for setting up in windows and/or mac. Like... I get how I need to set the hardware... but what about formatting? do I need to format the drives somehow before putting them in the system? Can I format them from the system? I'm new to RAID storage so this is all unclear.

Yes it’s a hardware RAID not a software RAID so it should be readable on different computers

I am currently using the old Mediasonic 4 bay. I am looking for a new 4 bay enclosure with an SD card reader. Mediasonic have released a new one and is always out of stock. I just purchased an SSD enclosure and so far the speed that I'm getting is great. I am hoping if I purchase this it will give me a great speed. Maybe you can do a follow up video with the Black Magic speed test.
Update: Reading all the comments on verified purchase at Amazon. Most complaints are the fan is too noisy and the USB C not working on Mac Thunderbolts.

I love pretty much everything about this except a) I wish it had a CFExpress type B reader rather than CFast because I don't use CFast and b) a reviewer said the fan is always on full blast and it's loud. For the price those are probably two things I can deal with though

I just setup this docking station and the RAID 1 setup was pretty straight forward. I see my 2 volumes as a single disk however there are these 2 ghost USB Disks left over that I cant seem to remove. I have 2 empty disk that say "Removeable (E:) & (G:) - No Media" in Disk Management. It seems that windows is able to recognize the usb aspect of this device even before the power button is engaged but doesnt recognize the device. How can I remove / clear / fix these? Is it a driver issue?

I just bought this and I'm following your directions, but I noticed that after you set the raid dip switches you pressed down the reset button while the device wasn't plugged in. Do I need to plug the device in and power it on prior to pressing resent for 5-7 seconds?

While the presenter is eloquently speaking and product knowledgeable person, this review falls short of knowing about all of the things you need to know and the drive enclosure does have issues. The design of the Sabrent dual drive + RAID is extremely is a good mirror of a LaCie 2Big Thunderbolt which is quite a bit more expensive than the Sabrent solution and is paired with 3.5” Seagate HDDs (LaCie is under the umbrella of Seagate). So in the end, you may be able to save a few dollars in Sabrent.
What things are missing from this presentation is a complete list of formatting. He mentions NTFS and ExFAT; but, neglects to mention that the drives could be formatted as HFS/HFS+ or APFS as well, the latter of which is Apples new standard for the Mac.
The second thing missing is a discussion on what color & states are indicated with the status LEDs. (On/Off/Flashing and Red/Blue). The LaCie actually has a third front panel LED to display power on or off, flashing blue with computer asleep, flashing red for drive issues. And solid red for disk failure. These seem to be partially covered with the Sabrent Drive.
Having two LaCie 2Big Thunderbolt 16Tb RAID drives for over 3 years, I can confidently say that these LaCie drives are the Worst drives I have ever owned in use with a 2018 Mac Mini on Ventura. The status indicators do not work correctly (most of the time they are off) and the Sleep mode does not work correctly. Lastly, the drives have a real nasty habit of disconnecting leading to errors of improperly ejected disks. Why mention the LaCie issues?
Well in reading through the reviews of the Sabrent dock on Amazon and technical forums, the Sabrent solution appears to suffer from the same issues as the LaCie drives. I had thought about replacing my LaCie cabinet with the Sabrent; but, clearly think that would just be another mistake. Also, don’t be fooled with Sabrent’s 4, 5, and 10 HDD solutions. In and of themselves, these are not RAID drives. You need software to operate those in RAD form.
I have always had good luck with Sabrent and LaCie products up until the 2Big HDDs so they have been a grave disappointment. So at this point I would say, BUYER BEWARE!

Are you setting this demo raid in "LARGE MODE" with left button up and right button down? I'd like to use RAID ONE, I assumed both disc should be in UP MODE, but user guide shows "CLEAR MODE" as having both switches up. Why is that?

I know development cycles are long, so it's not a critique. Even so almost nothing is using the Cfast sandart. Some exceptions are the Hasselblad H (the X uses excess) and some old Cinema cameras (for example the new Canon EOS C500 is dual cfexpreCFexpressss). Could you build the next generation with CFexpress instead? thanks.

I got this unit a week ago. Really like it so far. FYI, I think you quoted the port speeds incorrect. You stated the rear usb-c 3.2 gen2 port speed at 1,000 Mbps which would only be 1Gbps. I think 3.2 gen 2 is actually much more. Like 10 Gbps, or 10,000 Mbps.

I have a few laptops that have classic usb headers and no usb-c, can i connect this device to them by using usb-a to usb-c cable? I know the transfer speeds will be lower, but that doesn't matter so much, main thing is the drives are detected?

This thing is from a reputable brand, has a raid controller and it's less expensive than stuff having not have a raid controller and sometimes not even a fan controller. Yes, this is not thunderbolt but for two drives you don't need it. If they continue to create such products some popular raid manufacturers for the mac will be dead in no time. The only thing Sabrent is missing is high-end thunderbolt raids, the years, and the marketing cloud.
