Hello from Illinois! Thanks for the video Ryan, greatly appreciated! We came home from Siesta Key on 9/22/24. We absolutely love SK and all of you. Our hearts go out to all! We have been praying for you and will continue for all those affected by Helene and Milton. When the time is right, we will visit again--want to continue supporting all the local businesses. Take care and stay safe out there!
Love your attitude, especially in light of all you've been through. We were supposed to arrive in SK today from Kansas but decided to wait a few days. Plan to be down Thursday to support the local businesses for a couple of weeks.
I think there will be a big difference by Thursday in terms of the number of businesses opened up.
Hello from Wisconsin! I stayed in Siesta Key exactly one year ago to the day of Hurricane Milton. It was my first time there and I enjoyed visiting the shops and restaurants up and down Ocean Blvd. The sand at the beach is like nothing I’ve ever seen before. Like powdered sugar. Watching the lowering of the military flags on the beach at dusk was so heartwarming to see. (Proud wife and daughter of veterans here!) 🇺🇸 My heart goes out to all you and hope and pray that each day gets better. Please know that I will come back down to visit again so that I can help support those businesses in Siesta Key. 🙏🏻

Ryan your videos have been informative with kindness. Have visited SK since the early 70's. Had reservations to be there this week, canceled by rental agency after Helene. My heart is there with you folks as you clean-up and rebuild.

My prediction is 90% of the businesses will be open before the end of the month and I'm sticking to it.

Ryan, I'm from Wisconsin and I think that's too cold. 🙂 I'm so sorry you had damage to your home. Seeing all of the debris, trees down, and water incursion to some homes there just breaks my heart. SK is my favorite place on earth and I know that she will come back stronger. Be safe!

@@ryanvlasic1849 The efforts from all of you is nothing short of amazing. I'm sure there are still logistics and supply issues that are occurring but it seems from the big picture that the post storm recovery process overall is pretty darn good.
We've got a friend in the Sarasota area who said that he feels lucky that God decided to "poke the eye of Milton" as it made landfall...he said the eye sort of disappeared as it landed. I watched the radar and I tend to agree...in any case, stay positive and take it step by step...one day at a time. We're looking forward to our trip to the area...continued prayers for all of you.
Thanks for your update and information. I know you were walking along the beach in front of Whispering Sands I wish you would have shown the buildings. I'll look forward to fishing with you when were there next time. Glad to see the beach front hasn't changed much. Good luck with your property and stay safe.
To be honest it's hard to assess the damage to Whispering sands without walking onto the property. I didn't see any major damage from the beach.

There's not much to see in terms of damage on the beach. All the buildings and houses look to be in decent shape, with the exception of some roofing tiles missing.

I'm chomping at the bit to get out on the beach and jig for pompano.
That what God gives us a huracane for is for 10 degrees less the entire Gulf thumb 👍
85 year round water temp would be fine by me.

I thought you could see the beach, tried to angle the camera. There wasn't anything noteworthy to see, to be completely honest. The beach looked pretty normal.
