Pretty sure Rich must do full time lessons for youtubers at this point! Love watching his lessons, I learn something every time even though I'm just novice riding school rider!
LOL, Rich is so much more encouraging and gives much more praise in this video than when he’s scolding Meg’s riding! I swear it’s like Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde!
Rich got it exactly right. Of course she's your baby and you are worried if something's off. And of course at the end of the day you know Affie best. But you have good, experienced horse people that you trust on the ground. Nobody's going to let you continue in a lesson or a ride if they're seeing something physically wrong with her. It's something we have had to learn to trust when we ride too. It's so hard when part of the issue is mental and you're convincing yourself that every single twitch or bad step is lame instead of just simply a bad step. But you can definitely trust the people around you too in those moments.
The difference in this horse from the start of the lesson to the end of the trot work was fantastic. At the beginning she was sucked bk , neck fixed and tense. At the end u got some lovely work where she had a nice frame. Yh loved this. Really good lesson.
Great video Han. I can see how you would think she might be lame in a way. But it was just her fighting against you. Once she went and was balanced, she went beautifully. When she was fighting you, she crisscrossed her front feet and steps wrong and looked off, but it only happened when she was against you. She looked perfectly fine when she started listening. Great video.
Such a good lesson. I love how nice Rich is with you, when he's positively savage with Meg LOL. Different personalities, different attitudes. And he seems to be working on the calling the horse "it" thing LOL! ;-) Affie really improved over the course of the work--when she relaxes and lets her back come up, her gaits are quite nice! Good work, girls!
You and Affie looked great. I think with a lot more dressage lessons with Rich will help the both of you. It's hard when you have a history with a horse that hasn't been an easy road. Hopefully your lesson today proved you and Affie can do it. Lots of love from the USA 🇺🇸
So nice to see Affie, you and Rich in the same video. Rich's advice for your horse is also applicable to my horse. My vet told me to put him into work and see what happens.
You looked amazing together in this lesson!!! Rich may be a really good instructor, but you are the one who rides..... Good job!!! ❤❤ When horse and rider have history it's not the easiest task to shake it off, but you managed to!!! Now you have to trust yourself and Affie....... She really looks beautiful when working right!!! ❤❤ Think this is gonna be fun in the future!!!
17:09 Rich is so real for this... gave me a bit of inspiration, I was told some few things about my baby horse who is rising 3 in March, I had so much planned this year that I wanted to do with him, but after this talk Sunday with this psychic/medium who randomly came into my works, my confidence and motherly instincts just kicked in and all that went out the window. I'm actually so scared to do anything with him now, after what I was told, but Rich inspired me... because honestly my boy is completely fine and the things he said about him just scared me... but I am still taking it slow now... as what the psychic told me really has scared me to the core, I've been treating my boy like he is a glass statue :')
Rich seems so good for you. You really can ride, and Affie CAN be ridden! She looked relaxed and was holding herself more comfortably. Not for every second, but that's _normal_. I have a genetic disease which has meant I can no longer ride and I'm pretty disabled. It affects my muscles and joints as well as other connective tissue. Cold air can really hurt, it almost feels like something is crushing the cold part, or a very deep cramp. I wonder whether horses with PSSM feel somewhat like I do. These types of conditions can be difficult to manage, but there comes a time you just have to live. Don't forget to look after yourself too, mentally and physically. Meditation and deep breathing may be useful techniques to work on. ❤❤
She's looking great. On the long side, heading straight to the camera she's so straight, on the bit....lovely. So!....Rich has your number doesn't he. 😅 ....just get on, relax and stop seeing hazards and scary things. I think you learnt a lot in this lesson more about yourself than your pony.
I love this! You are so much like me and with what I have gone through. It's so hard getting past it but I promise you. U will eventually stop looking for things that's wrong with her! I'm exactly the same with my mare ❤ hang in there! And I love the real content so relatable and shows that nothing is ever easy! Cos it's not. Well done you ❤
Awesome lesson, you both work well together. I know what you mean, wondering why you were nervous, i do the same with my boy, i think its cause we know what they have done, and even though its not all the time, it still happened. But its awesome when they are well behaved and we just get on with it. 😊
I love listening to Rich teach. he is really good for helping your confidence with Addy. Do you know Addy's origins? Is she part Arabian, with that dishy-nose? If yes, that might contribute to her "hotness" or "higher reactivity"? Just a thought :)
Everyone saying: oh Rich is so different with you. Well, Han isn't Meg, neither is Meg Han. They're both different, the horses are different and Rich just teaches how it fits them. He knows he can push Meg a bit, but rn Han just needs a trainer that shows her, it'll be fine, dw, you and Affi can do it.
Oh you are one hard working, stubborn chick! Look at all you AND Affie are doing lately. This IS the year for drastic changes and I do believe they’ll be exactly what you need. Sending love and light from sunny South Florida

I think it depends on the horse/person as well. People and horses need different types of training but I love him either way haha
Rich’s lessons are the best thing on you tube at the moment.👏⭐️
Completely agree - he's expert, and such a gem to boot - I learn heaps and smile just as much!
Especially when you're in need of a good laugh, just watch a Rich lesson, and you'll get the laugh you were after!!
I just wish we could get him to come to New Zealand! I'd LOVE to have a lesson with Rich!

Such a good point. Listen to your experts :)

She moves beautifully when she’s on the bit. She is going to be wonderful. She just needs time to figure out her body and how to carry herself.

As someone with a young horse also coming back into work this is sooooo good to watch 👏 thanks for letting us go on this journey with you ❤
Great lesson, thank you Rich and you! Would be very interested in seeing the bridle and bit fitting.
Good job Hannah....well done. Trust your trainer...
She gets into a lovely rhythm and has a lot of moments of lovely straight movement
So nice to see Affie, you and Rich in the same video.

really lovely lesson, love the poney, she really tries - you just need to relax and be persistant.
Affie was going really well there! 💖

Sat tense the whole video feeling like I’m riding haha! She’s looking fab 😅
She was going so well , after a sticky start. I think the tittle should have been RELAX, RELAX , LETGOOOO 😂😂😂🇦🇺🧡

2nd?! Super excited to watch Han!❤❤
Hi. Can we please watch her being fitted for her saddle etc.?
I love this! You are so much like me and with what I have gone through. It's so hard getting past it but I promise you. U will eventually stop looking for things that's wrong with her! Is this video filmed before or after Affies PSSM2 diagnosis?❤️ Love this lesson, you ride her so well!❤️

Rich didn't yell at you once. Was he feeling OK?

First? Love you
🎉😂❤ great xxxx
Have you had her bit fitted by a professional? Seems to be resenting the contact a bit.
She does say at the very beginning shes having a few people out regarding her tack ❤
Had bit and bridle changed now x
Have a bit more confidence in yourself Hannah. You're better than you give yourself credit for. Honestly. 😎😎
Toes in
