Great stuff from Tuhon Ladra! I haven't seen stuff from this guy in a while. Love the sinawali to empty hands right away.
I've been doing FMA for 4 years now, and I always get a few nuggets with these fundamentals and explanations. This video really brought my attention back to iKali. I am half-Filipino and I love the indigenous aspect to Apolo's brand. Wish I could train under him for just a year.

At the age of 60, is it possible for one to learn any form of Pilipino martial arts?

Sure, some of the grand masters are even older. Just find a school with right minded people.

I've always been fascinated with the Filipino martial arts, but I want to see his take on the ground game. Can Filipino martial arts be effective on the ground? Their are many environmental elements that can change the scenario in a combat situation. How would you fare if say you fell or were taken to the ground?

Watch the whole video, he goes over some ground fighting. Mostly at the end. I train a particular indigenous groundfighting Filipino art called Buno, and let me tell you, it's effective. Everything we do is meant to break bones, dislocate limbs, control, or suffocate your opponent into submission. Imagine all that paired up with a knife in your hand.

@wizeyy i did watch until the end. I was looking for some trading back a forth ground stuff. I will look into Buno that you mentioned. I love the art and have had some basic training, not wuth any ground game, but recently, I have wanted to get back into it. Just thought I'd ask. Thanks for your reply.

Cross train wrestling or BJJ . Nice mix with FMA , many schools now offer all these arts under 1 roof .

Sadly, when you put on your protective gear on and try most of the techniques seen in this video with 70% intensity or more, you find out these are low-probability techniques and do not work most of the time. And if they do work, you will take damage as well and this damage could be lethal or long-lasting. I would really like to see this done with protective gear and high intensity in sparring where the other person will be resisting and creating his own way of "killing" you. I am open to have mind changed.

I noticed that you've dealt with "white" weapons mainly, but in this day and age must "punks" would come at you with a firearm. I know that the best policy is to avoid at all cost, but with your skills, would it be possible for you to demonstrate a possible defense against a firearm?
