    I will say this. Wera wrenches are not cheap, but you get what you pay for. I bought a pack of the hex plus wrenches for use at work. I've never had a set of allen keys hold up so well. I used the 3mm so much, the color coded plastic sheath came off, but the ball end and standard end still look like new. I've handed them to co workers who had hex bolts that were stuck and and the head was stripped out, and he was so impressed that they cracked the bolts loose that he showed me his metric pack the following week.

      @PhilipBlank absolutely, have the knipex pliers wrench with the smooth jaws in 2 different sizes. I handed the larger pair to a different co worker to use on a 23mm bolt holding a 40hp motor to a frame last week. Once they bite the only thing stopping you from breaking the bolt loose is your own strength. It's impressive.

    • @PhilipBlank
      @PhilipBlank 10 місяців тому

      Ah man can’t beat the smooth jaws. People are always shocked if they’ve never used them before. I’ve got the suite of cobras and two plier wrenches, but I’ve got my eyes on a couple more and a set of the jaw covers!

      My ToolCheck plus is surprisingly my go to piece of kit when working on my VW engine.
      The T30 bit in that kit has broken loose more bolts/screws than any other bit ive ever owned and is still pristine.
      It’s the only bitset that I absolutely make sure to never misplace even one - where as my Milwaukee bits I pretty much treat as disposable.

      I work on forward where aesthetics matter, and wera hex plus is what I use if they make the size. If they made every size of hex bit that's all I would use, but the sizes are limited.

    I know the RBRT and RPT stuff does work from watching your videos, but when he did the good hex bit on the bad hex bolt, he had the ratchet going the wrong direction. Idk if it would've taken it out or not, but still. For the principle if anything.

      @@removefromme Yeah, I know they are legit, I'm just saying on the principle of honesty, it would've been good for him to have the ratchet going in the right direction for all of the tests he demonstrated. It could've just been an honest mistake, but idk since I'm not the demonstrator.

    2:47 Those Joker wrenches are marginal at their very best. This is the set that I regret the most. The open end slips much too easily even though there's lots of bracing I've had these slip on so many bolts I don't trust the open end any more. The closed end is decent and will hold up to normal amounts of torque but the backlash required to ratchet the mechanism is very inconsistent especially in the smaller sizes. The best feature of these wrenches is the color banding corresponding to different sizes because it makes picking the right wrench super easy. Sadly, instead of making small raised panels to help protect the coloring it is at the same level at the face of the wrench and my bands started showing wear very early on. I do really like the satin finish to the wrenches I like the raised numbering and the size of it helps when you don't have your glasses on, but these are not priced as what they are they're priced at what the marketing can make you think they are. Unless you're going to use the nut holding feature all the time and you can stomach the overpricing steer clear of these, you'll thank me later

      I’m a Wera fanboy, and even I wouldn’t buy them. Probably their worst tool IMO. I absolutely love their Tool-Check and Bicycle Set 3, and their Hex/Torx keys are second to none. Jokers are a joke though lol

    • @Blobb2013
      @Blobb2013 9 місяців тому +1

      They are still on my wishlist and i will pull the trigger on them at some point. Imo they are the most innovative wrenches out there. The ammount of utility they offer over pretty much any other wrench is pretty sick. The fact that they are thin and you can approach a bolt from pretty much any angle with the open side is a win in my books.
      To be fair i watched project farms video about them and the open end was pretty terrible in terms of grip strengh, which is dissappointing, but i doubt that this will be a problem all the time. I personally avoid using the open side for torquing down a bolt as much as possible. The ammount of time i slipped off a bold head and rounded it off with any other wrench is high. There is just no better feeling than slipping off a bolt with cold hands and hitting something hard.
      The boxed end and the ratcheting mechanism was one of the best overall.

    Hello Mr. Subaru,
    I'm a huge admirer of your videos, and I was hoping you could help me with a problem. I own a Subaru Impreza 2009 EJ20 non-turbo. About two weeks ago, it started stuttering at cold starts, lasting for at least 5 seconds before clearing up. Additionally, when driving, it occasionally stutters, emitting black smoke from the exhaust. This only occurs when maintaining a constant speed at 2800 or 4000 rpms but if I stepped on it all the power is there and it feels ok. I've tried the following replacements and cleaning procedures:
    - Spark plugs
    - Upstream and downstream O2 sensors
    - Ignition coils
    - MAP sensor
    - Air Mass sensor
    - Throttle body cleaning
    - Checking for vacuum leaks
    Despite these efforts, the issue persists. :'(
    I would greatly appreciate your advice on what steps to take next.
