It's Inspired to make my own Homebrew Chaos Chapter - a mash up of Barker's Cenobites and Slannesh Disciples - The Progeny of Pain. They fuel themselves with the suffering of all sentient species. Their " armour" made from the constantly mewling forms of various intergalactic newborns, spawned into a pitiless universe without consent. Humans of course being the hot favourite. They return to their God to be torn asunder and harvested before being agonisingly rebirthed to repeat their cycle.
You can rub a little Lovecraft funk in it. Go the way of Old Shubby. Maybe call the harvest/rebirther The Ecidna. A grotesque disembodied purplish hued psychotropic perptually pulsing, convulsing womb-vula like entity which twitches spazmodically in the Orgasmic throes of Transcendental Torture it's screams stifled due to lack of Orficial Outlet and reverberated backwards into an echo of endless Ecstacy. It is one of many of Slannesh's Harlots of Scarlet Suffering. An order of various hyper- hermorphidical herseys. The Progeny of Pain Serve as one of Slanessh's violent violations of virtues. And The God gets vicarious vibrations from their many Ravages Upon Reality.
Incredible first tale. I would dare say better that some of others written by long term writers. I would like to hear more of this type of work. Keep it up.
@@AVoxintheVoid No. Thank you. Keep doing what you do. This is top notch. You along with others have helped me traverse the 40k world. Needless to say yours stands out the most owing to the VO and the music. Well done. I hope this meets you well.
I just finished listening to all three acts of this. Wow! I feel like I had just partaken in the audio equivalent of Hieronymus Bosch's "The Garden of Earthly Delights"! I was never really interested in Slaanesh throughout the years, but after this, I have a bit of reading to do!
Yesss.. this is the way 40k should be, grimdark to the very bone and so haunting it leaves the reader pondering the dichotomy between good and evil, humanity and inhumanity and of course darkness and light.. Furthermore I want to feel in my heart the raw intensity of what life truly is and all the horror that comes along with it threatening to make even the brightest of flames flicker and die or burn all the brighter in defiance of inevitable oblivion until you transcend the mortal coil of humanity altogether and manifest into a burning star of all encompassing hatred and rage..
This is the exactly how I feel about the universe as well. I have always gravitated towards the darker side of any franchise I have an interest in and the GrimDark of wh40k that I grew up with has dissolved over the last 20 years or so.
@@AVoxintheVoid Damn I myself have only been a fan of Warhammer for six years give or take and yet the fact it has progressively become less and less grimdark overtime stings all the same considering it is the very heart and soul WH40K. Therefore I can't imagine what it must be like for a fan such as yourself who grew up with 40k only to watch as it strays further and further from what made it so special in the first place.. I honestly think that at this point 40k should be a part of the public domain so that anybody can draw from it in order to create their own stories, short animations, short films, full length live action/animated movies or TV shows and actually make money from it. Then fans could be treated to the truly grimdark 40k universe they once loved! Ugh I really REALLY don't like GW cause the AMAZING fan base deserves so much better than them 😮💨
To be honest John I've been a fan for over 30 years...Christ I'm an old boy now. I remember actually feeling scared when reading through old white dwarfs. I don't think it's even possible to feel that way when reading through modern lore etc.
Just discovered your channel today and been playing through the list. This one was genuinely horrifying, and it's the first time an audiobook has had me on the edge of my seat. Brilliantly done.
I'm New to your channel and stories but these are incredible, really makes the mind visualise and feel each scene, "abomination" on particular gripped me. Amazing Work.
That one injured and heavily mutated traitor guardsmen behaved almost comically in a way with how he was disappointed that the guy didn’t slit his wrists. You perfectly captured the Grimdark. I’ve been writing a Multicrossover Warhammer fanfiction that mostly revolves around Warhammer Fantasy so there is some hope but plenty of dark moments and a bit of crude humor.
@@AVoxintheVoid I've done a few chapters already. But fair warning while there are dark moments there are also moments of calm in-between. Also, there are moments where it changes perspectives which has confused some readers.
@@AVoxintheVoid Would it be okay if I send a link despite the fact, I still haven't finished the story? Because I've already finished quite a few chapters. But I'm not certain if my tone of writing is suitable for this channel
This certainly put the "dark" in Grimdark. Excellent use of description; you managed to convey the depravity without going overboard and leaving nothing to the imagination. I think Fulgrim and Lucius would be amused.
Now moviemakers could take note of this...True horror at it's finest.. No disney ending here.. What makes it scarier is the fact.. This reminds us of life and the lack of time we have and how little control over it we wield.I await Act 2 and Act 3.
this is the essence... the horror that allows child soldiers desecrated with pain, hatred and inhuman indoctrination to appear as heros... its like drinking fine wine made from grapes plucked by slaves worked to death under the wips of mercyless masters in the twillight of a world violated by nuclear fire... its so horrific yet intoxicating... the absence of humanity and the palpable aura of despair makes me value humanity of today with all its flaws and i wonder how close we are to stories like this... thank you Vox for making me think, to slow down. by all their horror... this stories help me to silence the blender of the 21. century infornstion storm.
Have you written anything before? Because you did a great job with this story. Can definitely feel the grimdark influence and how you really doubled down on it, but wasn't overdone at all. I don't want to be captured by the night lords under the influence of slaanesh, this is terrifying.
This makes me glad the Astartes exist, for they, I feel will be the only ones able to stomach and do something against horrors that simply refuse to let you die until they're satisfied
Or will become the mightiest champions of chaos and spread it even more.
people underestimate the guard imo
@@isaiahd5396 No one underestimates the guard more than the Commissars

Cadian Guardsman literally train for this. Mere mortal humans.
No cool marines, no stylish villians, just the horrific reality that is the followers of the ruinous powers.
Truly horrifying is the slow, reluctant, decent into darkness only to avoid a quick physical death in the light.
Grimdark at its darkest! Great writing and great narration! Keep up the good work.
Thankyou Toni! Glad you enjoyed my work!
The cultists remind me so much of the crossed. If you don't know already just look up crossed comics
Definitely good for inspiration for this kind of storytelling. But, he warned.
Oh they definitely were an inspiration
@@AVoxintheVoid the shared imagery of the series combined with your storytelling ability is truly a waking nightmare in the best way.
I'm hoping for more content inside the ranks of chaos cults and similar stories! 🏺
I read that. You do have a point. Garth Ennis man.
Alan Moore did a few Crossed issues.
Perhaps your best one yet! Background score and sound effects created an amazing ambience. Bravo Vox 👏
That means a lot as this is the first one I've personally written for the channel. Can't wait to get stuck into part two!
I bet you were nervous when you hit the submit button. Replace that nervousness with pride, you did good, real good.
That's amazing!!! You and me are on the same page when it comes to chaos corruption!!
Oh, that is inspired. The Prince of Pleasure surely approves.
Incredible first tale. I would dare say better that some of others written by long term writers. I would like to hear more of this type of work. Keep it up.
Really appreciate that George. I'll keep the story going for sure
Wow what a story hope we'll get part two soon
Hopefully not too long to wait, gonna start finalising the story over the next week 👍
I keep rewatching this... It's enthralling
I'm glad you like it brother! I'm very proud of how it came out and even more proud when I hear about people enjoying my writing 🤘
I'm on like new game plus six on this.
Best 40K VO on YT by a country mile.
You're too kind my friend 🤘
@@AVoxintheVoid No. Thank you. Keep doing what you do. This is top notch. You along with others have helped me traverse the 40k world. Needless to say yours stands out the most owing to the VO and the music. Well done. I hope this meets you well.
this is perhaps the best WH4K fiction series on youtube. really a different level.
This is a true compliment. Thankyou sir
I just finished listening to all three acts of this. Wow! I feel like I had just partaken in the audio equivalent of Hieronymus Bosch's "The Garden of Earthly Delights"! I was never really interested in Slaanesh throughout the years, but after this, I have a bit of reading to do!
Many thanks! Just to let you know that I'm not sure many official GW tales of slaanesh go as 'hard' as me 😜🤘
You guys (and gals) truly deliver on the Grimdark. Bravo!
Thankyou so much! Your support on a few of the videos has been noticed and very much appreciated! Vox
Yesss.. this is the way 40k should be, grimdark to the very bone and so haunting it leaves the reader pondering the dichotomy between good and evil, humanity and inhumanity and of course darkness and light..
I’m new to 40k all together, like really new. So glad I found this channel. Keep up the fantastic work.
Then you're up for a hell of a ride. Enjoy the dark.
GW would never write this well or this accurate. Great work!
Yes!!!!! This is so Grim Dark!!! Love this.
Indeed.
Just discovered your channel today and been playing through the list. This one was genuinely horrifying, and it's the first time an audiobook has had me on the edge of my seat. Brilliantly done.
Thankyou so much! Glad you enjoyed it my friend.
Grimdark indeed.
This is why we purge heretics.
Look forward to reading it soon Samuel, make sure you link me when it's done!
I wrote the character as an homage to the hills have eyes. A mix of stupidity and pure horror 😎
@@AVoxintheVoid I've done a few chapters already. But fair warning while there are dark moments there are also moments of calm in-between. Also, there are moments where it changes perspectives which has confused some readers.
@@AVoxintheVoid Yeah, Warhammer also has silly moments as well so it perfectly captures the tone of the setting.
Means a lot coming from you Chester. Thanks buddy
Now moviemakers could take note of this...True horror at it's finest.. No disney ending here.. What makes it scarier is the fact.. This reminds us of life and the lack of time we have and how little control over it we wield.I await Act 2 and Act 3.
They are already up my man
@@AVoxintheVoid I just finished 2 and am moving on to 3 now !
@@zazz69ed hope you enjoy my friend!
It reminds me of a transgressive horror movie and I approve.
this is the essence... the horror that allows child soldiers desecrated with pain, hatred and inhuman indoctrination to appear as heros... its like drinking fine wine made from grapes plucked by slaves worked to death under the wips of mercyless masters in the twillight of a world violated by nuclear fire... its so horrific yet intoxicating... the absence of humanity and the palpable aura of despair makes me value humanity of today with all its flaws and i wonder how close we are to stories like this... thank you Vox for making me think, to slow down. by all their horror... this stories help me to silence the blender of the 21. century infornstion storm.

Have you written anything before? Because you did a great job with this story. Can definitely feel the grimdark influence and how you really doubled down on it, but wasn't overdone at all. You did a great job describing everything as well, especially the vision the poor farmer had. Just screamed Slaanesh. I look forward to listening to part 2!
I've written bits and bobs for my own enjoyment but never put it out into the world like this. I hope you enjoy the second part! Looking forward to reading what you thought of it!
I know little about Warhammer, but am an ardent cinephile and especially adore body horror and all the exquisite darkness that springs from it. You are extremely talented, both in your vocal talents and your writing. This reminds me a bit of Clive Barker, and your vocal intonations are reminiscent of Doug Bradley in Hellraiser (this is a sincere compliment). You've earned a new subscriber and an eager listener.
Geese dude this is dark. I think you have really captured the personal horror and tragedy that being confronted with Warhammer's Chaos, would bring. You have my admiration sir. Well done and I can't wait for part two, which I'm going to listen to, right now. :) Thanks for your efforts, it is appreciated.
Hey! Thankyou for checking out my short story. I hope you enjoy the subsequent two parts. They are close to my heart as it is one of the only stories on the channel written by myself. I get a huge boost to read comments like these so thankyou again 🙏
@@AVoxintheVoid I did indeed check out the other two parts and they were awesome. I really liked that subjective nature of the ending.
