I'm pretty sure that when a smaller lobby overfills, it actually starts multiple games, with the players split between them. Thus why you could see an overfilled lobby, be the last person to join, and still get in... only to see a lobby with less than cap.
I think the devs did nerf the bots but only a little. I think the major difference is as you say - White team just gets wiped out way too quickly and the people who survive can't deal with massive bots. The thing is, before white team has time to get wiped out, you'd see bots with 50k, 100k, 200k troops consistently. These bots clearly were replenishing those troops on their own. I don't see that now, the only time you see those numbers are when troops are donated forward. All in all, the player count and player skill is obviously the primary factor. You played them - big lobbies die quickly, 4 player lobbies manage to survive for at least while because the white bots don't die quickly.
Yeah I totally agree with you. 500 person lobbies are impossible to beat and yet those are the only lobbies I'm currently getting which is frustrating - I don't know how the lobby sizes are determined but I would like to see more variance than 500 person nearly empty lobbies appearing 10 times in a row. Additionally they need to scale the difficulty based on the player count rather than lobby size if that isn't done already.
Its like when someone in the survivor camp who is really dumb gets bit by a zombie and instead of quarantining makes it everyone elses problem and then you have a zombie infection you just cannot handle because your teammates are dumb as hell
I think an infected gamemode would be funner. Borders are permanent teams win or lose dependant upon how many troops you donate to teammates. If your nation runs out of troops you turn into the opposite teams color and you win if your team owns the board. A purely cooperative gamemode
If im not mistaken, the tank zombie bots only appear when there are more than 32 players, and they increase with the number of players. Morever, white bots will only appear if there are less than 32 players, always adding up to 32 overall. The difficulty in lower player lobbies, is as you said, if teammates die quickly, every bot around you will be donated to max cap. Finally, i have also realized that the zombies most always attack the player with the lower amount of troops when there are multiple white players touching borders with it, so its important to keep troop counter high
Its also the added effect of teammates overexpanding and creating massive enemy bots. In the last game you see all zombie bots are small in size, if it was a player lobby you would see massive zombie bots which get more troops based on size.
This reminds me of teammates feeding the enemies in Halo 3. It was around 5 to 23 or something when all my teammates left, and for enemies remained. I won, 28 to 27. The other team called me a ninja in the post game lobby, and left. Bad teammates are worse than having no teammates, sometimes.
As a person who has beaten zombie mode, here’s the trick. You get yourself surrounded by other people. Then you supply the heck out to other people to help make the fighting people stronger.
"I figured out what is wrong with life - it is other people!" - Dilbert It makes perfect sense. In normal PvP free for all, the weak players are who you will be conquering to win the game. "It's not a bug, it's a feature." But in this mode - a team mode - weak players get destroyed by the AI, resulting in more and more troops focused on you. It is worth noting that your team does drop as low as 10-15% of the map, but you still win in the end. It is the game where you kept a lot of the world for longer that usually end in defeat. Because people over-expand.
I feel that the bots tend to be better as they're willing to donate and share the resources. The reason the zombies win in high human lobbies is for the same reason. They eliminate people who keep full sending, then the zombie groups have nothing to fight and are landlocked so will donate to a given one at a different place where another player is being engaged. Then you end up with these massive dense zombie pockets teleporting around the board. Overall it seems to be that humans can't cooperate the way the bots can.
I got a strategy, it works, but u have to get lucky too, and u have to get decent teammates too. So in the beginning u go in a corner, expand how u can, than when u dont have more free land, and u want to attack, that set your attack around 3-5%(so if u attack a big one, or somebody gets donated some troops, than u dont lose much) and try to go for the low troop ones(you always se some of them with
It seems to me the best strategy is to spread players out evenly across the map with just a few zombie nations between them all, that way players can focus certain areas together while not stunting each other’s growth
CG I don't know if you are reading this, but bots cannot boost before the first minute, you can try to eliminate as many as you can before 1 minute mark
I think it's just cause people see everyone get destroyed so quickly so they think they have to get as much land as fast as possible without realizing that kills you instantly.
@@marvinmallette6795 weak bots Also donate alot to strong bots Players who arent bordering zombies could use the stategy against them and donate to those in the frontline

Idk if this would help fix that and make it more manageable is to make it were you can't just magically send troops or money idk what the resource is called, to another country on the other side of the map, make it so you have to be bordering an ally to send troops to them, or if they are far away make it so when you send troops it get to the ally slowly by boat same as when your invading, another territory.
What seems to happen to me is either I group with your team, but the zombies get a ridiculous amount of resources/troops and steamroll the people in your team that donate (so they have less troops), or I spawn and have eight zombies attack at once and get steamrolled. So I am not sure how someone could last very fast, or what I am doing wrong. I might need to be less or more conservative, I have no idea. (maybe it might be bots, but even the times CG had bad teammates, he still got steamrolled) I am not sure what happens to have the zombies gain in troops so fast, it could be donating, but for a while I thought that the zombies took all troops you attacked with, and turned them into their troops. Which was cool, but it might not be functionally possible. I guess someone will find out soon. Your explanation around 31 minutes in was interesting, and makes a lot of sense as to how zombies can donate so much. Which is interesting, and makes a lot of sense, but I think it's also the massive difference (like seven eights at the start) between zombies and players.
Zombies is the hardest game to win because your teammates are usually absolutely useless at playing as a team. They'll let you die just so they dont have to give up resources
That would be cool. I can't count how many games I've been in where a guy in the corner with no one to attack sits on millions while the front lines have a few hundred thousand and we all lose. I think people forget that there's an actual team they're playing with XD
22:00 is the result of bad teammates just fullsending like crazy. 99% of the reason, the reason why ppl lose this game mode is because of bad teammates fullsending, allowing zombies to get huge and unstoppable, and also people clustering in one area aswell, because now all the zombies behind the front line have nowhere to donate troops but to that one area, whereas is everyone was spread out across the map, that wouldn’t happen. That’s why that zombie had like 300,000 troops. First step, bad teammate fullsending, and also, everyone spawning in one area.
It's not that the bot team mates are better than average players, it's more the Zombie bots are nerfed pretty hard in the smaller lobbies. Look at the small lobbies, the zombie bots hold a couple of thousand most of the time, whereas with the large lobbies they will hold 50k plus and you'll have the massive bots with millions.
Im no expert at Territory.io but here is my idea. I don't know if waiting for red interest is a good strategy as zombies get donations up to MAX cap to steamroll you. My guess is you need to be big enough so your total troops gain per tick is greater than the per tick resolution of the sum total of all neighboring zombie nations full sending while at max cap. This makes sense as the 'noobs' create large capacity bots that can perfom constant gigatanic max cap full sends. I am not sure how to put this into practice but the math concept suggests that: 1. You need a magic ratio of more landmass than your neighbors (allies included). 2. Avoid the larger zombies until you are much bigger (maintain that ratio). 3. Minimize the number of zombies you touch at the beginning and midgame. Your videos has already demonstrated 2 and 3.
