i love the fact that you could have easily made 5 seperate videos full of filler but the fact you made it into one video is great, and the fact you show tidying your work up is great a lot of youtubers just act like they never make mistakes
I love how reassuring you are in these videos! For new hobbyists who might be stressing about making mistakes, having someone saying "It's ok, you can fix it" is brilliant. Keep up the great work.
I used this video to finish my first paint Dark Angel this past week! I really appreciate your workflow and advice. Having a test model all the way done is a huge confidence builder. Thank you thank you.
This is already becoming my favourite painting channel. Things are being kept nice and basic plus showing mistakes makes things so much more relatable.
Completely agree. Including the touchups and tips related to them is so much better for us hacks, and coming from Mr. Peach makes me feel better about my mistakes. 😅
Can't wait for Aubree are wars legion videos! I've got a friend who I'll be teaching to paint and I think you're videos are great for pragmatic painting
It's really great to see you with your own channel Peachy. You make the hobby so accessible. I've been painting for a long time now and still the main obstacle for me is confidence. I think that's one thing you really help bring to the hobby community.
Thanks Clive, it can be super intimidating getting into this hobby, whether they be building, gaming or painting. And if I can help with at least one of these I’ll be a happy chap. So thank you for messaging and reassuring me that I’m on the right path, and honestly confidence from my point of view, is just learning from all the mistakes I’ve made. Cheers Peachy 🍑🍑🍑
I love this! Its honest, no prettifying, just get the stuff done and decent! A lot of paint videos sell you the dream of making things look really awesome, which yeah it looks great when everything is nicely painted, but that does take time! And time is something we all don't have enough and less of with real life and commitments. I come from an animation background and its all about striking a balance between getting stuff done and to a decent quality vs making every frame perfect which isn't achievable. So I'm all about this with painting miniatures as well! And practically, most people just want to game with them and you're seeing them from 30cm away anyway! And also if haters want to hate about 'aw he didn't get the lore right!' stuff em. I know people who worked on Star Wars and didn't know the name of certain background aliens because its fine, people don't know everything!
Agreed! I was at workshop for 20+ years and I know from my own personal experiance as well as the big names and old guard…..they didn’t know everything either, and folks would get things wrong….its okay. But time is our biggest enemy, and as nice as is it for me to spend 8-10 hours painting a beautiful mini…..most folks just don’t have that luxury, and I’m chuffed folks are seeing this in my style Thanks for the comment 😍🙏😍
And just like that Peachy cements himself as my favourite mini painter. Whenever you show us something I really believe I can do the same and I have time and time again. Never stop going for it Peachy!
Love this format! I think this style is easily translatable into shorts as well, since they're a big part of yt now. Could easily split this into 6 shorts (the 4 chapters, basing, chipping) with a link to check out the full video. Converting to the 'vertical' aspect ratio is a bit of a technical headache though.
Shuuuush 🤫 your ruining my future plans 🤣🤣🤣 Not really but yes I do intend to release every guide as a short…..makes a lot of sense. But seeing someone in the comments confirm this has certainly helped me think it’s a smart move 😍👍
Peachy thank you for this I've never painted before so I've been struggling to paint my space marines and this helped me alot I work fulltime and I'm in college so I don't have alot of time thank you again keep up the good work.
Love you showing how you fix mistakes. It was a great epiphany when I figured out I could wipe paint off if I was careful and it was just a bit outside of where I wanted it. This is the first time I’ve seen someone do it in a video and it’s great this is out there for people.
Four chapters in one video (and bases too); and all the schemes are quite accessible and not at all stressful as presented. SO useful. Looking forward to the remaining first founding - and Sharpe.
Hahaha! It makes sense to cover a few schemes in one vid. Sharpe will get a full video about him and his chosen men! And maybe some other schemes too. The B*stards!!!
@@PeachyTips It does! Looking forward to Sharpe & co., I have been building and painting models for about forty years, and have still not tried my hand at Napoleonic models, although I have a handful. Cheers!
Brilliant packed little video thanks Peachy. There's some golden tips in there (never thought to thin basing texture to help move it around, genius). Any time saved by these quick stages gives you time later for extra details if you want.
Since I myself tend to end up painting just a lot of different black marines (Iron Hands, Black Templars, Deathwatch) can't wait to see how you do fast black armour because all these different colour schemes look stellar for the time it takes!
You're a brilliant antidote to the elitism that sadly plagues some in this hobby. Showing mistakes, fixing them quickly and adding a, "dont stress it," is really refreshing.
I particularly like seeing all the parts of a figure being painted; a lot of videos show just one greave or something before flicking to the next color with everything covered. It may not be an efficient video method, but it feels right. So does your chatter; the informality is delightful. Tip-wise, I've never considered using the Citadel "handle" as a base for spraypainting before. I love it!
Thanks 😍🙏😍 I used to do the old one section then swooosh to a fully complete stage. I think you miss a lot with that, so I’ll certainly continue to show a few angels and sections per stage…..where possible 👍 Glad you enjoyed it too
Loving the new vids! The intro sound is a lot louder than the rest of the audio, and i imagine will be a bit disconcerting when im listening to this in the background while i paint. Keep up the good work!

I've returned to the hobby after a 10 year hiatus, and I instantly gravitated more towards spending a lot of time on each model, learning the ins and outs of my paints, brushes, color theory etc. Problem with that? I think it's time to put a lot of your Tips to use on some cold blooded jungle dwellers, so I can proudly display them all before 2075. Much love from Helsinki, Peachy! ❤
