This has been on market for a while, but biggest downfall for this is it need API access, limited to function via API and need to share API details to this app. It can't control anything if there is no internet connectivity. I like this form factor better than any others, but if they can deliver OBD with couple more physical buttons, that would be great.
Maybe they heard your suggestion. Found this on the ctrl-bar homepage... "COMING EARLY 2024 OBD SUPPORT Early next year you will be able to unlock a bunch of new features, including Fold mirrors, Glovebox, Wiper speed, Acceleration mode, and much more with an add-on OBD device!"
Hi Shiva. Thank you for the review. I've had one of these for several months and it's never worked properly, even with several app and firmware updates. Main issue is that every time I come back to the car, I need to reopen the Ctrl-Bar app, otherwise the Loading message or bluetooth disconnected symbol will show on the display. This happens even it you've only been away from the car for a few minutes. Overall, a very frustrating experience but should be a whole lot better with an OBD connection. I'll be replacing this with the Sexy Knob, which I've ordered and is due to arrive in a few weeks.
Good review, Shiva. Up to your usual high standards. I concur with your comment that the selection of available functions is too limited to be of significant utility in supplementing the Tesla minimalist controls. I am of the school that controls requiring operation while driving should not require searching the screen but reachable by tactile buttons/knobs. An OBD implementation should be able to address this limitation.

Excellent review. I think this has a lot of potential but it needs to have more features and be connected directly to the car. I think knobs are ergonomic and are easy to find when you are driving so I’d want knobs instead of buttons. Making the existing knobs programmable is an excellent idea. Right now the S3XY knob has it beat if you can get one.
Tesla should provide easy access to OBD port at different place to ease integration with third party products when Tesla is not providing those. Example for instrument cluster.

Again a very nice video, Shiva. Well done, keep going 👍 I more prefer the sexy knob, because it enables functions, that I cannot activate with the TESLA itself.

Thx Shiva. Not for me, but they've put some good work into making it for "knob people." 😊 A button to lock/ unlock the car and frunk/ trunk when it's already on the screen? 🤔 I'd probably use it for the fart sound as the school kids cross the walk while I'm "patiently" waiting 😅
Do you know if the company has done any updates since this video? I've seen the others like this you've reviewed and I'm leaning towards this one, but the limitations you mention concern me. One of my biggest complaints with Tesla is the cumbersome way you need to open the glovebox. I commonly get errors when I use voice command to open it. Thoughts?
This one and S3XY Knob should be integrated to each other. Imagine you can see Knob’s screen is showing in the screen of this control-bar. It would be something similar to Audi’s MMU interface.
Looks simple with easy connection and if it works it's a good product. Another brand that bring what Resla should have done in first place. In my case I don't need passengers to touch the screen😉
I WOULD RECOMMEND DO NOT BUY! Have had for months. It is USELESS as it stands now. Need to re-open the app EVERY TIME you get in the car. Limited functions, has two control knobs for driver and passenger temp control, but does not split temps so it raises or lowers both temps. Company keeps trying to software fix it, but still useless for 5 months. It is simply sitting on my screen, unplugged since if you leave it plugged in, LOADING is displayed, even when you are not in the car. Huge disappointment. So much potential. They keep saying Tesla has been difficult, and an OBD would solve it. Why produce it and sell it for hundreds of dollars if it’s not fully baked?

@ShivaSapkota please stop promoting TMA Plus products, they shipped fake items to me and will not resolve the issue... I will never do business with them again...

Ordered one for my Y and hope it is easy DIY 😊. Thanks

What happens if you have two different people who drive the car? Does it connect to more than one phone?

My login bounces, cant use it
hello officiel site ctrl-bar have only 4 button ?? you have 6 button ?
hey will you be reviewing hansshows new instrument cluster called the FY9
The only thing I’m concerned with is the 3m tape on the screen.
I am hoping Enhance auto comes out with a S3XY bar.
Can't control the volume? Bro....
Don't you hate it when people film for an audience and don't clean their cars?
Thanks for the tutorial though.
Not impressed by the unit.
Thx for another review.
I ordered the sexy button thing last week. Haven't heard a peep out of them since.
Tesla API is changing atm. It might be worth 0 in a very short time.

Probably useful, but really ugly in my opinion.
