The problem with these units is that the manufacturers stop giving support to them after a while and instead releases a new version with the updates and fixes they were supposed to add to the previous model.
💯 😂 totally the issue. And they come half baked with software issues galore. Mine is strictly used for movies anywhere. So why don’t they update firmware to allow this “app” store
Shiva I see that this is for Model 3 & Y but what about earlier Model S before the latest refresh. 2019 model S with the vertical big screen in the front
How is this playing audio via the main speakers? Is it using Bluetooth? What audio source shows on the main display at that time? I'm curious if this means that audio line in can technically be supported :)
Thinking im finally going to get one for the kids, but everytime i decide to, a new model sbows up. Any insights on if i should buy this or wait a bit longer?
Do you buy a specific cable to daisy chain the connection. I want to buy multiple accessories but i don’t understand how it works without another cable
Do you how I can get the plug at 8:31? I have the H8 and misplaced mine so now i dont have power in the center console or wireless charging. Any help would be greatly appreciated
Does this unit finally support dual bluetooth headsets so two people can watch same video with two sets of bluetooth headphones. And whatis the audio lag/sync like when operating this way?
@@Jason-yg2cy unfortunately doesn't look like it. I still have to choose which device to cash the audio. I will see if they can make it work with software update. Thanks
Unfortunately with how older Teslas are designed, it can't be independent control of front vs rear. The new Model 3 Highland allows the split. Thank you.
If you have a regular Model Y, you don't notice the difference. I have a 7-seater Y that sometime needs the 2nd row to be pushed forward and it becomes uncomfortable with this screen compared to not having anything there. Thanks.
It looks like they are recycling the same interfaces from various older units and using them on the newer ones. They change the size and shell, add one or two features but reuse the UI. Is there any way they can release an update to give us the interface that the "highland style" one has? It would be nice if the UI was the latest and greatest. I am talking mainly about the seat heating and climate interface graphics. My guess is it should not be too hard since they mostly all use the QCM6125 processor as of late.
Hi Shiva, thank you for a good content. One question, I bought German produced model Y in Dec 2024, and mine has no odb below mid pillar. However, it has odb behind carpet below central console - drivers right leg (so also under center console, just not at the back). Do you know if this ODB can be used instead of door frame one? Have you heard anything about this option?
Thank you, will try and get back to you, just to verify :) and guess in such case I need AMD cable, but longer version to be able to reach side location?
@ Yes, that is correct. I believe the one that routes to the front door panel may work, just don't have to use the 12V bypass cable. But I cannot confirm, so please let me know. Thanks.
Hi, I have also a Model Y from Berlin ( November 2024 ) and there is not ODB behind under ventilation . I can't use the central driver console ODB , because it's not the same blue ODB connector size ...Car ODB connecter is bigger. The cable provided on T10 or T88 Pro ( from TESLASY ) is not the good configuration for the central ODB connection
If you park the car and someone is sitting in the back, is the Maintain button the same as pressing the Keep button for HVAC on the main screen? Meaning it can only be activated when the car is in park (but rear screen still on), keeping the HVAC on while the vehicle is locked with no driver on the seat? I think this may be the best use case for it. The rear passenger can lock the doors and unlock as needed without having to reach to the front of the car to activate those two functions. I agree that a child lock would be great. Would even be better to add audio balance settings but that may be asking for too much. Thanks for the video!
I think that is the intention for that keep button but didn't work for me. I am having them look into it. Right now you have to toggle the keep on from the main screen for this little screen to then become toggleable (which defeats the purpose). Thank you for watching!
With the built in speaker/bluetooth headset, the lag is barely noticeable but yeah using the main car speaker, you can notice the lag still. I hope they continuously make it better. Thank you.
@ShivaSapkota yup I have the older one that has two speakers at the button. Not bad, only air ventilation has two directions but this one looks like supports 4 directions right? And all of them have software issue that you have to live with that as long as that works for your kids. By the way, I checked the webside but couldnt find any info about having physical speakers, does it hsidethem inside? Imean hidden?
@@mahm7180 There is one speaker in the buttom. This one has "4" way ventilation but the top and bottom is not that much (please check my demo). This definitely is the best one I have reviewed so far but they keep making new ones 😂
Does the auto shutoff after 5 minutes of no one sitting in the back work well? I keep asking about this as manufacturers never ever listen to this request. Has anyone ever tried to drive at night with no one in the back and the screen on? Even at lowest brightness setting it glows like crazy and is annoying as f.
This is the first one that has worked for me. I tried it on a few drives and it did go off after 5 minutes. Did you ended up getting the TesStudio 8.8"? If so, I wonder if they can push you software update for this unit instead? Thanks!
@ which on is the one you reviewed? I think they call this one the T88 which is 8.8” but you said it was 8”. ?? I had the T86 and they removed the auto sensor in the firmware and fought them to bring it back with no success. So that is why I want to see if this newest one has it working. Thanks bud!!
@@toddswire9581 This one is T8. The previous one you and I had chatted about was T88. I agree with you, the display is bright and annoying in the back if no one is using it at night. I will pressure them to push firmware to older units but they make excuses. Thank you.
@ I am confused. The link you have is for R89 that you did this review on. Other reviewers have done one from Telasy as they have the same but no mention of auto turn off in his review.
@ Sorry yes this is R89. The Teslasy's version doesn't have seat sensor auto turn off, their unit is the same but Tesstudio pushed a different software. However, Teslasy is sending me their unreleased unit next week which matches the airvent and everything of the new Highland. They said instead of seat sensor, they are pushing a feature that would turn the display off if no one touches it for 5 minutes after the system powers on so they can control this feature instead of relying on Tesla's seat sensor. I will make a video within the next two weeks on that unit if you wanted to see a full comparison. Thank you.
Wow, I'll say that they finally perfected the screen to my liking. The auto lock feature would be the icing on the cake but I'll still buy this one!
@@KeemReviewz Thank you! Yeah they should be adding the auto lock soon.
