Well, that was so lovely! And lucky - the northern lights are pretty elusive even in the North, you never know. In Finnish they are called revontulet - foxfires.
@@ChadandClaire The name actually comes from an old belief in which a firefox (a mythical creature in folklore) runs in the forests/mountains and the sparks from it's fiery fur light up the sky creating the northern lights, or the so-called foxfires. 🦊
Hopefully you guys have been loving our beautiful Finland as much as we do. :') Your videos have done justice for the entire trip and you two as a couple are so genuinely sweet.
We loved Finland so much! Such a beautiful place with delicious food and such warm people. We have a video series there too if you’d like to check it out ☺️
Lived in northern finland almost all of my 32 years. I've seen the northern lights several times since while elusive, they still show themselves almost every winter. Twice I've been blessed with the spectacle of the northern lights like you see in movies and such. The latter one still sends shivers through me when I'm thinking about it. The whole sky was a explosion of colors green and purple and they danced for what felt like hours, sending ripples towards the ground, fading away never making it down. Like stepping marks for this mystical dance. I can almost see it still, it's much like a spiritual experience.
As usual you’ve made my day. I had no idea Finland was so stylish. Loving your vlogs…sorry about this but the thought passed across my mind that your babies are going to be so blessed to have you as parents. Forgive me for being so presumptuous!
You guys are just precious. 😊 It's so nice to see how much you enjoy being together and how you appreciate the little things in life. Your vlogs have an amazing vibe and the coziest ambience ever, so please keep doing your thing. Greetings from Finland! ✌️
Wow!!! Think this was one of my favorite videos. So many amazing things The husky’s are so adorable , the place you stayed it is beyond awesome What a view and the northern lights. How exciting to see that in person. Love that Claire didn’t take a face plant in the snow lol🤣. How fun doing a snow sled ride with the huskies and you both do well in driving. Thank you so much for an amazing video and letting us into your travels. Love you two for who you are. Such an ending young couple with so much joy and adventure for life 👍🏻🥰❤️
We are just so grateful to be making these videos and for having someone like you who cheers us on. Plus, any day you don't faceplant in the snow is a great day haha.
Wow the glass roof cabin, I want to move in! It looks you had a husky ride partly on a frozen lake. As a kid I loved winter fishing, it's great in spring when the ice and snow refletcs the sun light
You are so lucky! I have never seen the northern lights even though I am from Finland and have visited Lapland many times. Nice to see from your videos how you enjoy your stay here. Hopefully you will be able to return sometime in the summer time as well, because Finland is truly a land of extremes from darkness and northern lights to the midnight sun and 24/7 light. Helsinki and many other towns are also really cool and beautiful in the summer time. Have a good trip wherever you go next! Moi moi!
Beauty of winter north is really something else! Right clothing and cold means nothing and you can enjoy all different things! I'm glad you got to experience that! Never forget! Kippis!
I thought the same thing about the northern lights. We saw them in Iceland and they looked milky white with a slight hue of green in the sky and then when I took photos the green was so much more vibrant.
It also varies. They are sometimes more vibrant than some other times. They can be green, white, red, purple or blue. Green is the most common one and purple is maybe the most vibrant.
Your vlogs have been great! Though I really think you guys should visit Finland during summer time. Beautiful nature, nightless nights, good weather and delicious food. Most of the typical Finnish food culture and history can be found on the Eastern side of the country.
Truly amazing experienced. You guys are very lucky to see the northern lights . I went to Iceland but didn’t see the northern lights 😩. But anyway, thank u for sharing your wonderful experiences in Finland. God bless u both.
Beautiful video! so perfect, I actually got goosebumps when you guys were getting pulled by the huskies, loved the music, fun and experiences on this video. Thanks :)
Greetings from Oulu, Finland. I am really enjoying your Finland exploration series. You guys are visiting places that even I haven't explored despite living here for the past few years so I am taking notes 😂 Feel free to ping me if you pass by Oulu and have time for coffee.
You were very lucky. I am a Finn and have seen Northern Lights / Aurora Borealis only once. At night in February 1982 as military conscript at Sotinpuro artillery shooting range.
Cool! (in two meanings). You were extremely lucky to see so good and bright northern lights. In September I was in northern Norway about 70°N (400km north from Rovaniemi) and saw so bright northern lights that I had ever seen in my life before. I live in the south coast of Finland and here those are very rare to see at all and when they are visible they never are very bright.
I've recently found your channel. Looks like it was a wonderful stay and husky ride. Could I recommend adding costs of doing the activity like the husky ride in the video or in the description box? I would love to see prices of some of the activities I've seen in your videos. 💜
Thinking of last night and what today was ... I figure that yes, you are indeed going to have some fresh experiences. (ok I dunno when this was filmed but it's aired 30.1.22 and 29.1.22 storm hit Finland. Not sure if it hit Laplands immediately but I live near coast and boy was there some interesting weather here)
Glad you are ok. When I heard the news here in Finland a couple of days ago, that a tourist has died on a dog sleigh ride in Lapland after hitting a tree, I first thought of you guys.
Hi just came across your channel very recently and love your content! We were supposed to go to Rovaniemi in March 2020 but it of course got cancelled 😞 Tell me I’m curious when did you exactly filmed in Rovaniemi (the snow seemed perfect 👍🏼)? I really want to do the ice dip/ sauna you previously done and will look into your link and go same place. Thank you 🙏🏼 for all these useful tips. Wishing you all the Best Sabrina 🇫🇷🇬🇧
Looks like you had a real winter experience ❄️🤍 did you have time to see also Rovaniemi town center? I live in Sweden now but Rovaniemi is my hometown 🥰
Lucky you! People who travel to the north should always manage their expectations with the northern lights because most likely all they've ever seen regarding them are heavily enhanced post card images and unusually strong ones which obviously is almost never the case in real life That doesn't make them any less beautiful though :) Just know that it's not gonna look like a massive light show
Rovaniemi... REALLY POOR !!!!!! You should come to NUORGAM Holiday Village to experience real Lappland and Northern Lights. I come from real south from archipelago west of Hanko. We have bee here bit over month and it´s nice.

@@xvnbm Yea, it was the end of October when I saw them so I just assumed that since it was early in the season that's why they weren't so vibrant.
Snow mobiles is something worth trying, too. Arctic Snow Hotel, too. Can't wait to see more (getting greedy to see your beautiful videos).

Hello Chad. I am actually working with the company that built the houses where you are staying at :D
Is there any way I could get in touch with you?
A week's vacation up north for a family of 4 people or more would set you back financially for about half a years salary

Northern lights can be underwhelming IRL because of the photos you see taken with long exposure so they look massive and bright.
Few times a year they can be really spectacular like they were on 15th Janurary. Here's a real time video instead of long exposure photo.

Yep, sometimes they are stronger and sometimes more dull.. iv seen really strong Northern lights even at south of Finland when i was a kid.
FINLAND RULES
omg i stay in filand where is this dam hotel ? xd

It's not that lucky to see the aurora borealis. It happens about every other night that far north.
Wow, I'm Finnish and I had no idea that there are actually people who look towards visiting Finland as a tourist.

You didn't know tourism is a big thing in northern Finland?
I dont want to be like the northern lights that you saw werent cool they were, but i have seen even kinda red-ish northern lights and they are beautiful but rare.
moon light ruins northern lights.
