  • “Park City leaders have a legacy of listening to our residents, taxpayers, and businesses. It’s how we’ve made our community one of the best places in Kansas to live, work, retire and raise a family.
The August 2023 Sales Tax Referendum is another example of taking valuable input from those we serve and turning their feedback into community-driven solutions for funding to maintain quality city services. If approved by voters, our sales tax will increase by 1% putting us at the same sales tax rate as most other cities in Sedgwick County.
It’s important to note that a large percentage of the tax revenue generated - 88% - will come from out-of-town visitors coming to Park City to shop and dine. The impact on the average Park City resident will only be around $2.47 per month. Prescription drugs, medical devices, or any food that is used to provide meals for the elderly or homebound will be exempt.
Please take a moment to learn more in this website about the Sales Tax Referendum. Should it pass, we will be seeking additional community input on the best ways the new revenue can be used including property tax relief, economic development and job growth, and maintaining city services like roads, parks, and police services.”
    John Lehnherr
    Mayor, Park City
