We actually quite enjoyed this one for what it is. It's super easy to teach to casual players, but found it's still crunchy enough for gamers enjoy. It wasn't my copy though and I do agree that the price isn't right for what you get. I'm also with you on the score pads which are OK as a fall back, but an app is a better option for quick scoring.
I am a fan of your channel, but this was not a fair review in my opinion. There are so many fantastic games like Race for the Galaxy, Keyforge, Pax Series games, the new Red Rising, Radlands etc etc that need to be played a number of times in order to ‘get’ the cards & strategies in order to appreciate the game. Just because it’s a potential ’filler’ game, and or only has one pack of cards doesn’t mean it can be assessed in a couple of plays. Of course some games can be, and some can be by some people and not by others. As a games reviewer I think you need to do justice to each game type by playing it enough times to have a well worked out evaluation of each game. Then you have a basis for criticism and for suggesting it’s either shallow, or over complex etc. If you’re not prepared to give each game the chance it needs and or you guys ‘give-up’ after a very few plays, then don’t review it. Just to sum up, I don’t have an issue with your conclusion, I have an issue with the narrative that you have described in how you came to that conclusion. Keep the reviews coming ;-), thx.
It was a fair review in my opinion. I alluded to the fact that the game needed to be played many many times (we played it more than a few times btw) to unlock its secrets and that isn’t something we’re prepared to do thus it couldn’t be recommended. At the end of the day I didn’t like it, but thanks for your reasoned feedback. It’s always helpful to know not just when someone disagrees with us but why 👍🏻
@@BoardGameBollocks Thanks for responding. I guess if you feel you have played it enough, then fair play to you, and the review has value. I would agree that the price is very steep for a deck of cards and a pad. There are many decent one deck games for between £12-18, this is too high.
I think hype played its part too…This was OOP when we picked it up so we had to import it from the states (price was the same though). It had good reviews…

Haha I am with you on this one! The score pad and scoring just does your head in! Great videos 👍

This is my go-to filler.
i can hear this review.....Still cant hear the streamed videos....must be a codec that I dont own
Weird...streamed using OBS with NVENC. Not sure what up. No one else has flagged this problem. Have you tried a mobile device?
Your way off base with this one. The only neg review out of a 100. You think mayb your missing something guy.
What am I missing? Let me know and I’ll go back and reevaluate it...
@@BoardGameBollocks I would suggest the 2 player variant where you can build your hand from scratch. Any good game takes time to learn . Enjoy.
