I played it for the first time last night, four times in a row. I need to play more but it did feel lucky and swingy to me. People just played their highest cards in order to avoid taking any cars, unless they had a lower card they could play that would allow them to take a card of value 0 or a few cards that would contribute to a majority of the one or two colors they were seeking a majority in. Then as the game wore on someone would inevitably get “screwed” by the card draw and they’d have to take cards they don’t want, especially if the parade had grown to 10 or 11 cars in length. I was browsing the BGG forums for the game, specifically the rule variants that might exist, and I almost got the impression that for an earlier version of the game your flipped over cards would score as -1 instead of +1. Given my misgivings about my initial plays of this game, I like the idea of the -1 scoring rule.
Ok I’m now on my 6th game of this and IMO this game has a TON of luck. It’s fun, but IMO because you have zero control over what cards you are gonna get and it’s such a massive deck, this game is just so so so so swingy.
Thank you for the nice quality useful review
